We stayed 2 nights in this hotel during our visit of Orillia. It was clean despite of its age. It’s a bit on the older side. Large room with king size bed. Includes breakfast which was a good bonus. The issue we had was our room was near the side door. We heard noises many times. Also under staff likely due to pandemic which is understandable. Good stay overall for the price.

Cleaning not efficient. Room was quite dirty (hair on the ground in the bathroom). The staff seemed limited. Only a person at the reception desk for example and he was busy. Poor breakfast to order (closed restaurant). Quite expensive rate. For the same rate, we slept in Delta Toronto in downtown.

We are having a wonderful stay at this hotel. When we arrived, Dane cheerfully greeted us and was very helpful. The room is clean and comfortable. Having a small kitchen area with plates, glasses and cutlery is a bonus. We were given a page to fill out with breakfast selections and time we would like to pick up our breakfast at the front lobby area. Everything was hot and ready on time. This location is a short drive to town and to the lake. Orillia is a beautiful place to visit. Lots of amazing street art, shops, restaurants and everyone is super friendly. We highly recommend staying at Stone Gate Inn! Comfortable rooms and friendly people ❤️

Room Tip: Park your car in a parking lots instead of on street. You can stay longer and it’s cheaper.

Booked this hotel based on good reviews. However, nothing like the good reviews. We stayed there three nights, and our room was never cleaned nor did we get clean towels the entire time. Although it is covid times, they promise you breakfast each morning by asking you to fill out a questionnaire each evening for the next morning of your choices. However, although we filled out the questionnaire each night we did NOT receive the breakfast - reason - they ran out of food, even ran out of coffee. Not a big deal, but not sure why they promise if they cannot deliver. I can only assume that the owners did NOT provide them with enough supplies. The staff was upset and one of them was crying because everyone was complaining. The DAY receptionist was never there, and not to mention that there was no manager in site. The poor staff that was trying prepare the food had to also tend to reception - unbelievable. The garbage at reception was full and overflowing from the garbage can when we got there on Thursday, and the same garbage was there and even more overflowing when we left. I recognized our double cup Timmies cups ... the hotel is in a good location and could be a nice place if service and cleanliness was improved, and management was there and available for both the customers and staff support. We certainly don’t plan on staying there again.

I have never had such experience with someone providing a service in hospitality industry. The highlight of their service was the moment that I called the room service for the breakfast (which was already delayed). I was confronted with a person who very rudely yelled at me that your breakfast is ready when I call your room and if I call your room. Do you think her voice was apologetic? No it wasn’t. Neither her voice, nor her words. We got our breakfast 1.5 hour later and it was not what we had ordered the night before. The situation in the lobby was chaotic and many guests were waiting for their breakfast; She kept yelling at people as if it was our fault that they couldn’t handle providing the breakfast. When I entered the lobby for check-in, instead of being greeted with a smile or a hello, I saw the receptionist staring at me. When I said hello, and indicated I have a reservation, she started processing our check-in in a very cold manner. When at night my friend and I referred to the night receptionist regarding a problem in their room, the lady at the reception reacted very unprofessionally . Without asking for the room number and with very rude intonation, she replied she knows the room has the problem, and there is nothing she can do about it.
