The Chateau was recommended by another local business and were we ever grateful for that advice. We were on a very loosely planned trip through the Kootenay in August 2020. We stumbled upon this character accommodation and stayed for 4 nights because we liked it and the Kimberley community so much. The Chateau itself can be described as a beautifully quaint inviting property that boasts history and character. The staff is extremely warm and personable and the rooms are clean, quaint and comfortable. We were mountain biking, road biking and paddle boarding, so the location was outstanding as a home base to explore all the beauty and adventure Kimberley has to offer. It's close proximity to the shops and restaurants of the Plazl couldn't be beaten. The owners and staff were always a wealth of information and help in terms of restaurant recommendations and reservations.
I highly recommend a stay at this lovely Chateau if you're passing through Kimberley. You won't be disappointed. I know we look forward to returning to this sweet place in beautiful Kimberley one day soon.

I highly recommend the Chateau. We stayed for a total of 5 nights and enjoyed the hospitality, property and location. Val and her staff were very pleasant and added to our stay - they made us feel at home. The location being so close to downtown is a bonus as well as we never had any problem finding a great place to eat within a couple blocks. Make the Chateau Kimberly part of your trip!

This is one of the most beautiful botique hotels we've stayed at.
The staff (owners) were so helpful and friendly. They even brought a little fridge up to our room because we stayed for 4 days.

The decor of the hotel was amazing. There are several public seating areas that are so welcoming and relaxing, perfect spot for reading so bring a book. Even access to a large Mac computer in their Business corner.

The room was comfortable. Smart TVs and each room has their own WiFi so the signal was always strong.

Very nice continental breakfast was served in the lower level every morning. This area had access to the outside patio as well so we could eat breakfast outdoors too.

Highly recommend to stay here.

The luxury of a hotel in the coziness of a B&B. We stayed at The Larix for one night with our dog and had a wonderful stay. The beds are super comfortable, the toiletries smell wonderful and the bathrobes are a great extra touch.

There is a living/reading room in the hotel where you can sit and enjoy the fireplace. The staff is very friendly.

The location is unbeatable, at the corner of the street you get all the restaurants of Kimberley but you are just far enough not to hear anything.

One of the best hotels I've stayed at!

Beautiful property, with staff focused on creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests.

Rooms are well appointed with comfortable beds, luxury bedding and lovely toiletries. Thoughtful lighting included directional lighting that allowed one person to sleep while the other could read. Our double queen room included a small foyer. Room was very quiet, did not hear other guests or hall traffic.

Several beautifully designed common areas for guests to use, well stocked with books and games. A snack area is set up for 24 hours access, stocked with a generous selection of beverages and cookies and fruit. A second floor office setup with computer is available. Exceptional breakfast.
Hotel is eco-friendly, minimum plastics in rooms and toiletries are locally made.

Sue and Janet really made us feel welcome.

One small note, it would be lovely if the bedroom had more shelf/clothes storage options. The room itself was spacious, it would be nice to be able to unpack suitcases for longer stay visits.

I stayed here for 1 night during a recent roadtrip to Calgary. The hotel is centrally located and steps away from stores and restaurants. The decor is lovely, and the hotel has a very welcoming feel to it. My room was very nicely done, although it annoyed me as not one single power outlet or light switch was straight, and the coat hook/shelf on the wall didn't really match the finish of the rest of the room (everything else is silver & black and this is gold).
The bed was super comfortable, and I had the best night's sleep in a long time.
There is a continental breakfast included in the price, although this wasn't mentioned to me during check in, so I wasn't sure what to do (another guest informed me). Also, the reception is only manned from 8am -8pm, so again, I wasn't sure what to do when I left early to continue on my roadtrip.
If I ever visit Kimberley again, I'd stay here in a heartbeat.

We could only stay for one night. We stayed in a Dormer- small Queen bed Room on 2nd floor. Reasonable price $168. People with leg/knee problems should book floor rooms because there is no elevator. Everything was clean, Mattress just great. Friendly staff. Breakfast Buffet with lots of varieties.
A little downside: 1st) you can have cups but they provide wooden/bamboo cutlery and paper plates. That is definitely not stylish for a Boutique Hotel. 2nd) you can't open Window in Dormer- There is just a noisy Air Conditioner
Short walk to the Platzl with pubs and Restaurants.
We would like to return but we will bring our own plate and cutlery along.
We don't like to eat in a Boutique Hotel from Paper plates like going camping. Manager, please think about it for the future to change this.

The hotel is in a great location being just 2 minutes walk from all the shops etc, but being where it is there is no noise - great for what should be a great night's sleep.
The stairs to the first floor are steep, so don't try to lug a big suitcase up there if you're in your 60's!. There is no lift
A couple of small suggestions -
Please give out real plates, cutlery etc.... the "green" effect of cheap paper plates and wooden knives etc does not enhance your property - it makes it feel "cheap".
The a/c units jammed into the windows is dire!!! To have fresh air you have to run the a/c

Overall we had a really nice stay and would definitely book again.

One night stay over to break our journey from Vancouver to Alberta. Pleasant hotel, friendly staff, and comfy bed. Room was on the small side with limited storage but adequate for one night - think I would struggle for storage on a longer stay. Breakfast was a functional, cold, continental offering - everything self serve with paper bowls, plates, wooden cutlery etc. but it tided us over until lunch. What I didn’t like about the room was the window blinds - extremely noisy to pull up/down and could hear others in other rooms opening/closing theirs. Some nice touches with local toiletries in bathroom. Loved the shampoo and shower gel provided and the cute soap. Hotel also offered free hot drinks, cookies and snack bars from a room off the lobby, and a fridge containing free juices, water, sparkling juices which was available 24 hours. Kimberley was a very quaint, pretty town. Would have happily stayed a few more nights.

The hotel is well located with great common spaces to read, socialize or just hang out. We were travelling with two dogs and were conveniently given a room with easy outside access. While the room was functional, clean and reasonably large, it is not well lit. Also while the room worked well with pets, it was very exposed to the street. I am sure this was intentional on the Larix’s part but if you are travelling without pets, be sure to get a room that is not right on the street and front driveway. The highlight of the stay was breakfast. It was amazing with lox, bagels and fresh berries. It could not have been better.
