Covid camping holiday, pool had occupancy restrictions so it was not at all crowded, staff were all friendly and helpful. Campground is located on a hill so you may need to drive to get firewood, go swimming, play mini golf etc. Sites are well maintained, some are on the edge of high banks so not so secure for little ones, walk down to the river and playground is nice.

We spent a week here in July. The campground facilities are clean, the pool area is very nice. They have rentals for kayaks, e-bikes that are available right at the store/office. We rented e-bikes for a day and the bikes were great quality and reasonably priced for a 11 hr rental. We did have an issue with one bike had a flat tire 20 kms into our ride. Fortunately we met someone on the trail with a pump and were able to pump it up enough for him to get back to the campsite. We did not try the mini golf but it was always busy.

We also rented a double inflatable kayak, also good quality and very reasonable to rent. It was helpful to have someone along that knew how to set up the kayak, may have been a bit of a challenge if we didn't. St. Mary's lake is a short drive away and a great place to spend the day. Water was clean and clear, beach is rocky but at +30 we spent most of our time in and on the water.

The negatives $100 a night is pretty steep for this campground. We did have a beautiful full hook-up site on the river so that helped. $30 was a bit outrageous for a 5 gal bottle of Culligan water. I got my $10 bottle deposit back when I returned it, but I refilled at Save On in Kimberley for $6.

We are already booked for next year! It bites to have to pay in full upon booking but they have a good cancelation policy.

Campground with it ALL! We stayed on Site #75 overlooking the river, Beautiful! Check the site photos of each site on their website to see if it will accommodate your needs. Some sites are smaller or bigger. Washrooms are very clean and showers too and really handy. The Amenities they have are Great. Wi-Fi, Top rated Mini Golf, Outdoor Pool, Frisbee Golf course/Playground/Horseshoe pits/ Beach Volleyball net/Basketball Hoop, to name a few. Also they are right beside a huge Nature Park Trails. Walk for the day or an hour. Trails are very easily marked. Just take a picture of the Map trail before you explore! Well worth it to check out the trails and beautiful views you explore. They have a small store on site and staff which is handy. Wood is kinda what you pay for $8 per bundle (approx 6 logs) You can easily go through two bundles in 2-3 hours of campfire. My suggestion, bring your own. Staff is very friendly and informative. This campground is a must if you are a avid camper. Also you will see deer in this campground, they are everywhere.
Enjoy!! :)

We camped at this campground only for one night. We are tenters so got a spot in the non serviced sites. These sites are very close together and are on their own and have only an outhouse( which are clean and well stocked though). The location is nice, it's close to the river which is lovely. I found the cost of $37 to be way too steep for a small tent pad with a broken picnic table and garbage on the ground when we arrived. Also, they allowed a couple with 3 annoying barking dogs to be in the site next to us. I don't mind dogs at a campground if they are under control and quiet, these dogs were neither. They barked at everyone and everything. There were no staff coming down to check on the campers at all during our stay. They also double booked our site so that at 10pm a family showed up in their camper claiming we were in their spot. The office gives no proof of site payment, no tag to put on the post etc. so there really was no way that they were able to say that they had the spot. They had to sort it out with the office and found something else, but what a pain for them so late in the evening and for us as well.
Overall the location by the river is nice but the price for unserviced sites, the lack of screening for noisy pets and checking in on campers throughout the evening is lacking. A tag or receipt to leave on the dashboard with site number etc. would also be a good idea.

We toured the Kimberley area as this was supposed to be a Bavarian town. That's a whole other review.
This campground was the only option in the area. Pool and showers are included with a full service site for an outrageous $100 per night. Laundry is available, and a mini golf course, Electric bike rental for additional funds. Walking trails in the area.
The sites are spacious, and graveled with a large picnic table. Separated from neighbours by a few trees.
The pool we didnt use due to time constraint and a rain shower. I have no issues with the campground and would stay again, however at $100 per night...not going to happen. The most expensive site in our entire 2 week trip. Absolute robbery.
For the price mini golf should be included.
Better value at Fairmont.

Hi There, We did have to increase our prices over the past few years to combat the cost of living of our staff and increase the cost of supplies and services we require to keep our campground being great. Happy camping

I don't like camping because of the work of preparation and packing and then unpacking at the end. We haven't been camping since we had kids (6 & 8), so this was our first trip. Kids said it was the best ever!!! We rented the rental trailer and it was beautifully stress-free. We packed clothes, kids bikes & few niceties. Shopped for groceries in town when we arrived and everything else was provided at the trailer. The fact that there was inconsistent cell service definitely helped us stay disconnected from everyone else and connected as a family. Can't wait to do it again!

Have been coming for 7 years and this will likely be the last. They want a year in advance payment on sites that are close to $100 a night. Staff are not helpful and things have been maintained less and less as the years go by. Used to be a favorite spot to come, but cannot fathom why they will not let you book without full payment. Seems too money hungry for the services provided now. Very disappointing indeed.

Thanks for the review. We did have to increase our prices over the past few years to combat the cost of living of our staff and increase the cost of supplies and services we require to keep our campground being great. We have made sure we are less than other similar options in the region. We have moved to taking payments in advance. Most of the campgrounds are doing this. Out of the 2000 campgrounds in North America using Campspot software ~90% are taking payments in advance. It allows us to budget better and continually improve the campground. It is also saving us several thousands of dollars a week in cancellations which we have been dealing with in the preceding years.

We have camped at this campground for 7 years in a row. They have decided to go with Campspot as their booking agent and they require you to pay in full for your reservation even if it’s a year in advance( which you have to do because they fill up a year in advance). They are unwilling to try and work with you with a resolution. It’s sad but it looks like we won’t be coming back.

We love Riverside Campground and have been travelling here for the past few years. Unfortunately, this campground has been sold and we won’t be back next year due to the 25% increase in their rates! We are very sad about this. Too bad the new owner had to ruin a good thing.

Really enjoyed staying at Riverside. Quiet evenings and nights, clean washrooms. Nice little pool. Good laundry facilities.
The best campground staff! Very friendly and helpful. They like and deserve bran/date muffins from Max’s!
Riverside would be 5/5 except that their price is $20 more than anywhere i stayed across three provinces this summer.
