Well appointed little room in Kimberley. Nicely theme decorated, comfy bed with good assortment of pillows. Excellent water pressure and cushy towels and good room coffee! This is just a thing with me, but I like when the room fan setting just stays on all night instead of cycling. This one does that! We got in late, easy check in with room # and door code provided to us. Small assortment of granola bars and homemade muffins and fruit for a morning snack at the check in desk. The lodge has been undergoing Reno’s for over a year and looks great! All decorated for Christmas, so pretty! Cant wait to see the new pub unveiled!
I came to this hotel as I was conducting business in Cranbrook. Before you read the rest of my review let me say, look no further as this is by far the best place to stay. My room was retro themed and was done exquisitely. Key coded door locks, coffee, tea, TV, and actual FAST wifi connection were all ready for me upon arrival. The cleanliness, hospitality, ease of check in, and above all great experience will have me staying here every time. I seriously urge you to book with this hotel. You will not be disappointed. Above all, The staff actually care about you which is a nice change from other hotels in the area. Message to the owners; Keep up the great work. Your hotel shows you care!
The interior is a pleasant surprise, lobby and rooms are newly updated with paint, carpet, new linens, cute decor (even cuter than the photos above.) the room was clean. No personnel though. The bartender checked us in. No WiFi, and no TV service, even though there is a TV in the room, and a WiFi indicated on our phones. Maybe a desk clerk would have offered the password, or you could put it in the room. In the am when breakfast was supposed to be open, no desk clerk, and according to the torn paper sign on the door indicating 7:00 am breakfast, it was locked and looked like it had't been used or stocked in a long time. Disheveled plastic table cloth and random chair placement around a pool table. This room had not been updated and looked like the bar had just closed in there. No desk clerk either. We realized we were the only guests in the hotel, and there were no employees. No one available in the am to talk to right up until we left. There is no elevator, and the stairs are steep. If there had been an emergency, no one around to deal. For this reason, we won't be back. The exterior is in need of maintenance/cleaning. The covered front porch is covered in coarse gravel (a slipping hazard) and a pile of dog poop that hadn't been removed for 2 days. No come on...you walk past it every day. There are shovels and yard equipment leaning carelessly against the wall and cluttering the porch. A strong wind would have knocked it down, and because there are no employees, no one would have known. If there had been a broom, I would have swept it. The front door doesn't close all the way, and the waste of heat out the door really bugged me. The sign on the hotel says Western Lodge, and no Kimbrook Sign so we were a little confused. I would say the owner's "to give a sh__ is about 0, and we won't return.…
During our stay at the kimbrook lodge we had the chance to visit the bar. It was awesome! Amazing appis and drinks! The staff are incrediably helpful and great at problem solving. The rooms are cozy and very clean! We can’t wait to visit Kimberley again and stay at the kimbrook lodge!!
We stayed here three nights and wished we had time to stay longer. We love the lodge atmosphere and pub. Friendly staff, the rooms are so comfortable and a nice breakfast included in our price. This will be our go to place.
