Beth, Jon and Joey are the most welcoming Inn Keepers. They made our stay in St Andrews memorable! They also provided excellent advice (on local places) and were very knowledgeable about diverse topics (piebald deer). They were also highly entertaining and the accommodations were great as well! Would highly recommend!

GOOD - Friendly and helpful hosts. - Clean room. - Homey atmosphere. COULD BE BETTER - No host there for 20 minutes upon arrival. - Sink fixtures need upgrading. - No breakfast and anything else was an addional charge (except for breath mints). - No king mattress. - No in-room fridge. - Too much noise in the inn before 7 a.m. (TV, machine noise and vibration)

Response from Jon Weaver, Owner at Salty Towers
Responded 1 week ago
Hi usnavyvet! I’m glad you enjoyed our hospitality and the cleanliness and atmosphere of our inn. We enjoyed having you with us. We take our customers’ satisfaction very seriously so I’ll address each of your complaints. According to our records you showed up before check-in time and did not ring the door bell or we would have come immediately. As a historic inn, we properly maintain original fixtures such as the sink in Room 6 rather than update them. Yes, we did charge you for your wine but the coffee and tea are free, as were the delicious locally roasted peanuts. The queen bed size was indicated when you booked your room online. No in-room fridge was advertised. As for the noises, I am stumped. We have no TVs in the rooms and there were no machines running that early in the morning. All this said, we hope to see you the next time you are in our neck of the woods. Sincerely, Jon

Our recent stay at The Salty Towers Inn was a great experience. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth, humour, and professionalism by the owners Jon and Beth. Their hospitality and willingness to go above and beyond made us feel truly at home. This seaside Inn dates back to over a 100 years ago and the décor and ambience takes you back in time with period furniture and artwork – not to mention the introductory presentation that Jon made, brining to life the history of the building and its previous owners who were rather colourful characters in their own rights. Our room was spacious, clean and tastefully decorated creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. We appreciated the little touches that made our stay extra special. The Salty Towers is close to the town's attractions allowed us to explore the area with ease. Beth is an incredible fund of local information and ever willing to make recommendations for places to visit and eateries in the area. We will return to St. Andrews By The Sea again and The Salty Towers will definitely be our choice of place to stay. Veronica L

We really enjoyed staying in Salty Towers. Great Location to restaurants and downtown. Loved the old house. Room was very comfortable and well appointed. Very clean. Enjoyed hearing the history of the house sitting in the lounge with a glass of wine.

The Salty was a beautiful experience. Cozy rooms, cozy beds, delicious food, beautiful furnishings, and the opportunity to play some music at night. Right on the main road, it's quiet and yet near all of the lovely shops , restaurants, and harbor. Beth and John made us all feel right at home. I will be returning next year. Can't wait!

Great location, great room, fabulous porch. Beth and John very friendly and welcoming. Lots of coffee to be had, if uou want that. Also now selling adult beverages if you want to sit on porch and taken in the salty air. Only thing I would change is a contention breakfast offering..nothing big just muffin, Danish, fruit. That's all. Will go back one day to hang out more in this delightful town.

Aw, some people just really know how to engage. How to make people feel welcome and invite them to become a part of a historical place's history. In a world that is very impersonal the Innkeeps Beth & Jon make it both fun and personal. An extra wine, a bit of story telling and music. Everyone's included. The place is great, with comfortable accommodation. I slept with the Puffins in a very comfortable single room with sink. It was like staying your cool cousin's summer house. Stuff was happening but it was interesting! Great location in St. Andrews, recommend - on the main street but a little bit away too. So glad that I tried Salty Towers. Hope you like it as much as I do.

Beautiful old house in a beautiful old town. Hosts were super kind and welcoming, told us all about the place when we arrived and John even sat with us that evening and told us stories with another guest. Very clean, including the shared bathrooms. Food, shops, and the beach were well within walking distance. We would gladly stay again
