Detailed Reviews
We are a married couple in our early 70s. We just spend a wonderful early October stay for three nights at the Treadwell Inn in St Andrews, NB. The Inn is well situated on the end of the main road (Water Street) overlooking that end of the St. Andrews harbor. This location makes for easy walking to explore all that is St Andrews. Parking is available right on site. Our 3rd floor room (RM#6) was quite spacious, very comfortable and had a wonderful deck overlooking the beautiful harbor. We found the morning continental style breakfast to be quite good and tasty to start one’s day. Be mindful/respectful that this is a wonderful Inn in a well maintained older building, but there is no elevator and the first floor is the reception area and the Chandler Room restaurant. During our stay we were graciously welcomed by Cindy who answered our questions. We also had the opportunity to meet and chat with the friendly hands-on owners.

After leaving Cape Breton's beautiful Cabot Trail, we stayed at the Treadwell for two evenings on our way home to Ontario. Never knowing what to expect in a new place, we were really pleased with the room. The bed was really comfortable, and the whole place was very clean, and it just felt relaxing. The bedlinens and towels had not been washed in super perfumy detergent, which I was very happy with - I dislike strong, stinky perfume smells. The tub and sink were spotless, and a sample lavender/relaxation soap, that had been made locally, was placed by the tub. (We were able to buy more of it at the outdoor market that weekend.) It was the Canada Day weekend (we had a great view of the fireworks!) and there were a lot of revellers in town, so we shut the windows and turned on the AC overnight and slept well. Christy was very friendly and helpful. We'd definitely go back.

We stayed at Treadwell Inn for the first time this weekend. Our first night was in Room 6 on the top floor - a king room with sitting area, kitchenette and a balcony overlooking the water. Unfortunately our flight was delayed and we arrived In St Andrews late so we weren't able to enjoy the view of the bay the evening we arrived. The room was a good sized, attractively decorated and well equipped.
As Room 6 was already booked for the next two nights of our stay, we moved to Room 4 which was a beautiful, newly renovated king room. It overlooked the front of the hotel but we were not at all disturbed by noise.
The beds at Treadwell are so comfortable and have lovely , high thread count bedlinen. All toiletries are supplied as well as a hairdryer and a coffee machine. We couldn't have asked for more for a very pleasant stay and enjoyed every aspect of staying at Treadwell. The breakfast which is included in the room rate is a bonus. The owners and staff are so friendly and welcoming and very knowledgeable about the area sharing helpful ideas about what to see and do.
We look forward to returning to Treadwell hopefully very soon!

We had an amazing stay at the Treadwell, which is a quaint historic inn perfectly located in the heart of Saint Andrews. The room was beautifully appointed and felt like it fit the vibe of Saint Andrews perfectly. The bed was so comfortable that I wanted to take it home. We made great use of deck right off of our room to soak up the seaside views.
What sets the Treadwell apart is definitely the service. Every staff member that we encountered was attentive, helpful, and focused on ensuring we were happy.
We also loved the Chandler room, the restaurant on the main floor. We had a few meals in Saint Andrews and this was by far our favorite with flavorful dishes that were perfect for sharing, the scallops and oysters were fantastic.
We left the Treadwell feeling like we had spent the weekend with our best friends, and will definitely be back.

An absolutely wonderful place to stay – the Inn is perfect match for the history and ambience of St. Andrews. The hosts, Christy and AJ, are most welcoming and helpful, and their staff is terrific. The accommodations are A+ with a cute seaside décor and comfy beds, and all have balconies with a Bay of Fundy view. The location is convenient for exploring the town and local sightseeing. Food is marvelous: delicious continental breakfasts and dinner in the Chandler Room is a delightful experience – try the Jamaican Mule with your dinner or at the bar! A real benefit of the inn is onsite parking.

This is our second stay and we absolutely love this place! The staff is friendly and accommodating, the rooms super clean and well appointed, and the views, well..... no words can truly convey the views. Breakfast is hearty and extremely tasty (best croissants I have ever had) and even better when enjoyed from your deck overlooking the water. Thanks to AJ for putting the air conditioner back in during an oddly warm and humid day in September - we slept blissfully in the cool room. Anything you request is met with a smile and a "yes, we can" attitude. And if you stay, do try the on-site restaurant; the food is AMAZING! The only negative is posting a review which will fill up the rooms faster, making it harder to find an open date for us to return. Rest assured, you will not be disappointed. Thanks again Christy and AJ. We will certainly be back!!

Great potential, just rushed....We were looking for a fun dining experience as we were staying town for 3 nights and this property wasn't open Monday or Tuesday, so Sunday it was. Food was quite good, but service was rushed, always seemed like they needed to turn the table one more time. Otherwise, a lovely evening.

I walked into this restaurant to take a look at the place and see if I could get a late booking later this week for 2. I was chased after by a lady who gushed loudly that they were booked out until the end of August as she escorted me out. Not very good PR - I won’t try again. All it would have taken was a ‘sorry but we are full - hope you try again’ and I would have been happy to hear they were so busy

I am so sorry that you felt "chased". I think you must have missed the sign that said pease wait to be seated, at the front door. I would have been happy to check availability for you later in the week had you asked but I found you wandering through the restaurant. Sincerely sorry for the misunderstanding. I hope you found somewhere suitable for dinner.

Treadwell Inn in St. Andrew’s is definitely on our return to list of places to go and stay. The Inn is beautiful, the rooms are large and comfortable and the view of the bay is breath taking. It’s a front row seat to watch the tides come and go. The owners and staff are amazing. They were friendly, helpful and made our stay easy and perfect. The included breakfast was delicious and plentiful and such a delight to have it brought to our room to enjoy.
Don’t forget to book a reservation for dinner at The Chandler Room located on the main floor of the Inn. The shareables menu was creative, delicious and had lots of sophisticated options.
We will be back, thanks everyone at Treadwell Inn for making our stay fantastic.

Two of us stayed at the Inn and we had a wonderful experience. The staff were helpful and responsive. Questions were answered in a most friendly way and recommendations were on point. We ate in the dining room and had a terrific meal. five stars on all fronts. When I return to St. Andrews in the future I will not bother to look for a different place to stay - can’t improve on perfection. This is a true (small, independent) Inn located in a 200 year old building - set your expectations appropriately and you’ll love it too!
