So we arrived on Oct. 17th, 2022, checked in got room 18. First thing we noticed was that there was no WIFI service as they are in a dead zone; but we were given the password for the service. Why give a password when there is no service! Second, on the 18th of Oct. I went to the office and informed them that there still was no TV service. The staff at the front desk said someone would be by at 1 pm that same day. Third, at 1:25 pm that day I had to drive to the office to find out why no one had come, I could not call as there was no phone in the room and still no cell service. I was told that no one told me that someone would be in at 1 pm, and that I was mistaken about what i WAS TOLD. So I said don't bother with the TV as we would be leaving the next day. I also mentioned that I was short tempered due to my husband being ill. I left and returned in an hour to pick up equipment that my husband needed. The door was unlocked, someone had been in the room and changed the cable box. We had a very expensive guitar and equipment in the room. I packed up and went to the office to check out. I was mad at this time and ask who gave them permission to enter the room that we were renting? The owner, the resort supervisor and another manager came out and said they can go into the room as they are managment and they have security cameras. The owner said he didn' t want to hear of my problems as his were greater than mine and did I want to hear them. I said that I have enough on my plate and didn't want his. They charged us for the full 2 days and for working in the tourist industry they have no respect for their customers. I left the room clean and made sure that the two glasses we used were washed and dried, if you leave dishes not done there is a $50.00 charge. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!…
This could be a lovely place if it was managed better. And if it was managed better then perhaps one might be able to swallow the exorbitant camping rates. Strangely, when booking one cannot choose their site nor will they assign you a site until the day you arrive. We asked that we (several RV’s) be located together but no consideration was given to that request. And yet once we arrived and saw the site they assigned to we asked if we could have a site closer to our family but they said no, it was booked. Again, what!? So, some people are allowed to choose their site and others aren’t?? Thankfully we have a trailer with full bathroom facilities because there was ONE men’s toilet and shower. For a whole campground. There was a second one but it was being used for storage- what?! We had a large group there for a weekend, some camping, some in the motel. None of us had a good experience and no where near worth what we spent. The one good thing this year: the pool was heated. Super disappointing. It could be such a good place……
I wasnt going to complain about this hotel as we were grateful to get a room last minute…..but i just spent 3 hours trying to get all the pitch off my car from the trees in front of our designated parking spot. The room itself was barely passable - the bed felt like it was about to collapse, but for our one night purposes we thought we could deal with it - Nope , we had to leave at 5:30 am because the smell of mold and chlorine was making both my husband and me sick. We were on the ground floor and didnt feel safe opening windows with all the sketchy clientele roaming around. Not a safe environment. But getting home to find my beautiful vehicle covered in pitch was the last straw. Do not have one good word to say about this place.
Riverside resort is indicative of the expression “lipstick on a pig” everything looks amazing at first glance, but as you truly look around the unpleasantries start to review themselves. The manager Paul and his lack of management skills are obvious via his yelling profanities at customers who question his prices. Employees are treated publicly with total disrespect, humiliation is the main method of training for young vulnerable employees, which is truly sad to witness. Management at Riverside RV resort is reminiscent of uneducated power hunger individuals who prey on meek vulnerable individuals. Although there are many wonderful employees that work here (the lifeguards, the teens that work at the store, Mike the maintenance man) it is very disturbing to see how poorly they are treated.…
Like another reviewer, I had a stay booked for July. I only made the booking in March by calling the resort directly to make the reservation. Was extremely peeved that the owner is choosing to increase rates for summer and not honor their confirmation email with prices and dates. They phoned us to tell us their new price and stated that they absolutely don't have to honor our reservation since they have given us more than 30 days notice. Further, the owner replied to another reviewer and said that it was because they booked a year in advance.... Seems like a last minute cash grab? I would hate to go and see what other ways the owner might gauge customers.....
I had a reservation for a 2 bedroom townhouse for July 2022 that was booked in Sept 2021 with the front desk staff at a rate of $299/night. Today I got a call from the resort saying they could not honour my reserved rate and that it would $499/night or I would have to cancel. This is horrible business practice!! That reservation was made 6 months ago and it was the rate that was negotiated with the front desk staff!! I have a confirmation letter and everything. Now most places in the area are full for the summer. I would never stay there now!!!!
When looking for a girls get away with my daughters and granddaughter, I came across this little gem. The resort was prompt to reply to my email questions and after booking they followed up to see about upgrading us. Upon arrival we were greeted and had all questions answered. The rooms were clean, appeared recently updated and the basic cooking utensils were there. We attempted to set up the TV streaming service however the wifi did not appear to support this very well with spotty viewing. We enjoyed seeing & visiting the Qualicum Saturday Market, Little Qualicum Falls, and Coombs. The evenings were quiet. This looks like a great spot for family fun in the summer with the pool, waterslide, play areas and other family activities. I certainly recommend this spot.
I really enjoyed my stay here. It was surprisingly quiet, and only a 5 minute walk down the road to the beach. There's laundry and a convenience store on site. Most people staying at this time of year seem to be long stayers or permanent residents. The bed was a large king size and super comfortable. A couple of improvements I would suggest for the executive suite: provide a small stool so people who are under 6 ft can reach the shelves in the kitchenette. Replace the battered furniture with something more comfortable and in better shape. Since electrical outlets are in hard-to-reach places, provide a surge protected power bar.
My husband, 2 children, and I had a lovely stay. The pools, waterslides, and mini-golf were definitely highlights. Not one thing I can fault. The resort, amenities, accommodation, location, and staff were perfect from beginning to end. After an exhausting year and a half during Covid as an RN, this holiday is just what my family needed to rest, reset and build memories, thank you and we mean it!
My family and I have always had a wonderful experience here. Excellent location near the beach and a friendly, helpful staff. The kids love the waterslides and the mini putt but the beach being so close as well as the river is amazing. Keep up the good work! Thank you again
