Single handedly the worst hotel / motel I have stayed at across Canada. The owners / managers are most definitely the hardest staff I have ever had to deal with. Swearing, threatening and making a complete fool of themselves.

The most unpresentable disgusting room I have ever had to pay for in my life, and then when confronted about the condition and cleanliness of things you are kicked off the property. I will never let another person I know go in this building.

Linens on both beds were soiled - one with black and crumbs, the other with blood.
Battery hanging out from smoke detector - not attached
Red duct tape holding the A/C together.
Flashing off the eave hanging
TV did not work as the cables were missing
Moved rooms once for clean linens, but the second room was simply not clean. Looks like cleaning foam was sprayed in the tub but never washed. Dust everywhere and a empty popcan behind the nightstand.
Should have read the reviews before we stayed - it now makes sense why the parking lot was empty.

Stayed there within the last couple weeks and had issues with cleanliness and rudeness. Pulled out the sofabed and it was covered in crumbs and random hairs and it was disgusting. Clearly hadn't been cleaned in a long time. Also, had a run in with the owner (male) who was incredibly rude and confrontational. It is economic - but economic comes with a price of bad service and dirty rooms.

they only discount the returning guests. they treat employees like crap, they dont pay for what the hours they work for, they go through so many managers to hard to keep count, the owners do lie to people just to get them to work for them. and they over work their employees and dont care be prepared to the next managers that work there, the wife wont trust u with anything. . the front desk manager lies through his teeth. dont believe anything that come out of his mouth. the food there is old, they freeze the milk thats out dated, they also freeze the jam and makes the jam to hard to spread. (gross) the eggs are used for 3 days or more then they make fresh ones, basically nothing fresh there for breakfast.oh and they use a different name to post ads.

Me and some friends wanted to escape somewhere before school. We checked in for 4 people. The door didn't work so the man had to come up to get the door open whenever we left. Their were no ashtrays in the smoking room and pee stains on the sheets, that's far from the worst tho.
In the morning we slept in by mistake. Me and my friend woke up to a random guy watching us sleep. When i looked out the door their were others, like maids, also watching us sleep. That is invasion of privacy even if we happened to sleep in.
In the morning my friend went down to complain about the room and get our damage deposit back, which was a hassle because they refused to give it to us. On the money was a note saying "guy is violent". They labeled my friend as "violent" Simply because he has tattoos.
We realized that we forgot our cell phone, "IPHONE 5". We went up to the room with a worker and called the phone. it rang but seemed to be nowhere. All of the sudden it mysteriously drops on the floor. the worker tried to steal our phone. Then the RCMP showed up, but we weren't talked to.
Just because we are young, and have some tattoos, doesn't mean that they have any right to treat us with such disrespect. I give this place 3 thumbs down. I will NEVER stay here again, id rather sleep in my car. If your young and want to be unfairly labeled then i recommend you come here.

Thanks for reading. This is my experience.

Close to the heart of Loyd, and all amenities this hotel has lots to offer.
Although somewhat dated it has friendly staff, comfortable beds,
Great restaurants just steps away.
Compaired to what one might spend at a other hotels I feel this place is fairly priced.

I would rather sleep in my truck then stay in this motel. If you can make it past the idiot at the front desk who make it seem like he's doing you a favor by letting you stay in his dump, then you will soon be even more disappointed by the run down, filthy rooms. Out dated furnisher and disgusting bed spreads go great with the dirt on the walls and in the washroom. Sleep in your clothes and and bring some ear muffs if your lucky enough to stay in this dive.

I really don’t have many good things to say about this Motel. We booked it given its rank in trip advisor and given the price shown. We thought we would be staying in a decent motel, with a good continental breakfast, for a decent rate….WRONG!!! For $76, this Motel was a rip off. As you can see form my contribution history, I usually have nice things to say, but the Best Lodge Motel in Lloydminster really left me with a bad feeling. I will not return, I will not recommend anybody stay here. For the price I paid, try somewhere else, or pay the few extra bucks for something nice at the newer hotels in town. For that kind of rate, I expected something more.

Condition:
The place is in desperate need of repair. Our room appeared dirty, old, and worn. It was not a place where I should have stayed with my family and young toddler. It was one of those rooms where you want to leave your shoes on. Furniture was out-dated and worn, the walls dirty, the bed spread faded and filthy. The bathroom had newer tiles but was in disrepair as well with a broken towel rack. The outside stair case leading up the upper floors was also in poor condition. You would think they would at least pick up the garbage around it. Although there is some construction going on, you would think they would tidy up a bit.

Beds:
Old and uncomfortable. We were under the impression that the bed was a Queen. Wrong! It was a double bed.

Noise:
The room was incredibly noisy! We heard every word of all the drunks outside fighting and running around the balconies outside the rooms for over an hour. If the owner lived in the Motel, why didn’t he ask them to be quiet? It was terrible and I’m sure every guest that night heard all the craziness. Now, I know this was an isolated incident but it goes to show how little noise insulation there is. When the BP’s lounge and Original Joe’s let out (these bars are just west of the Motel) and its patrons head over to the 24 hours McDonald’s for a snack (which is also just west of the Motel) you hear everything. Also, just to let you know, somebody poured a drink or something on our car windshield. Given all the drunks frequenting the area, I’d think twice about leaving a nice car or any car in the Motel parking lot overnight on a Friday or Saturday.

Continental Breakfast:
Unfortunately, the little restaurant in this Motel was closed on the day we were there. Prices seemed low and we were looking forward to a nice little breakfast (given the past review). The dining room was open for Motel guests but all we were left was some bread for toast, cereal with no milk, and some disgusting juice. Again, what a rip off. The attendant lady with the brush cut hair seemed to have a chip on her shoulder as well. What a ray of sunshine she was! Service was non-existent, the place was dirty.

So, in summary, we had a bad experience at the Best Lodge Motel in Lloyd. Now, I realize that certain things happened that might be out of the control of management and plain bad luck (the drunks, the restaurant closure, the windshield) but I tend to believe that bad management and a bad establishment breeds these sort of unlucky scenarios. Also, there is no excuse for a dirty environment, tired & dirty rooms, disrepair, and poor/unfriendly service. Also, who doesn’t leave milk out with cereal???!!!

This was the only place that had a room in town, and now I know why. Arrived at hotel and discovered rate was $10 more than what was quoted on the phone. Upon entering the room, the floor seemed to feel funny and discovered the laminate had lifted and seperated so bad to the point that the joints would pinch bare feet, however was covered in a film that wearing shoes in the room turned into a must. Upon going to bed, I discovered the box spring was broken, and I had to sleep in a bent position. Being late at night, no other rooms anywhere in town, and I had to get going early in the morning, I had no choice but to tough it out. At 3am, a fight broke out just outside the door. A party above us kept going until about 4 am. Finally we went to sleep, woke up and I started to pack the car. Open the door to a rather large pool of blood on the sidewalk in front of the door When I went to the desk, I interupted the clerk in the middle of a text message, When she finally acknowledged me, I mentioned the broken bed, she asked if I broke it and when I said "no", she said, "good, that way I won't have to charge you for it." When I complained about the party, she said she did her best to evict them, but they wouldn't go, so eventually the cops came. I was not offered any sort of a refund or credit, and certainly no apologies. I was glad to get out of there that I was not going to discuss it further.

One cannot blame the motel for filthy behavior i.e.: the dude spitting from the balcony; that has nothing to do with the motel itself. The price was good and true, the place isn't the Taj Mahal but it was quite comfortable, nice new flat screen t.v.s which worked well, quiet and actually quite pleasant. Definitely not fancy but tidy and clean; I slept really well!! No issues with this place: I will stay there again.
Honestly, I don't know what the prima donnas are looking for @ $80.00 but outdated furniture is hardly a concern.
