We really enjoyed our one night stay at the Wawa Motor Inn. The staff fully respected Covid-19 protocols, and made us feel very comfortable about staying here. We were assigned a room in the "Log Village" where we enjoyed a picnic dinner out our back door with a nice sunset. Very clean, very quiet and rustic with a log cabin feel.

We stopped here on way home from Thunder Bay. My husband used to lay over here with his company, unfortunately it was only place left in town. I cannot begin to explain how gross, dirty and disgusting the room was. Bed had dead bugs in it, bug squished on pillow, dead bug on lamp. Bathroom floor filthy, coffee stains on top of fridge. The carpet was filthy and stained, they clearly dump a ton of Carpet Fresh on the carpet thinking they are fooling people but the smell was overwhelming, I ended up with migraine, we had to leave door and window open most of time. . I put our own blanket on bed after stripping it. Their idea of charging and connectivity is a powerbar stuck on the wall with a blue light shining the whole time. However neither of us slept really at all. I asked a number of times to speak to the manager, even after leaving number I have heard nothing. Their rate for seniors for a dump like this is robbery.

Maximizing profits with minimal effort! $300+ dollars for a night. This is Wawa, in the middle of North Western Ontario, where for that much money, we were looking forward to some luxury and comfort. The chalet was tired and poorly maintained (dirty - lamps shabby and fans noisy and wobbly (no air conditioning) some windows with no screens and others with bent screens - toilet paper shortage - worn out beds etc. etc.). There were beautiful hanging flowers outside the chalets, which made it appear inviting, until you walked through the door. Lots of hot water.

It was convenient and available. The outside looks good but inside another story. Carpet was dirty. Cleanliness at this time especially (COVID) was not great. The back of the chair had hand marks and drips. Really loud fan in bathroom.

This was my third time driving through Wawa in as many years and the first two times I had stayed at Northern Lights which I liked alot. This time, they were closed for the season, so I had to stay elsewhere. I knew of Wawa Motor Inn as it is so big that it is hard not to know of it. So I went there. I loved my stay. I liked the large room with a door out back that was adjacent to some trees and brush. I was only staying the evening but it was pleasant to be out back and would have been even nicer if I was staying longer. I did like the log, wooden atmosphere of the buildings and the room. They had all the amenities that you would expect. Bed was good. Staff was friendly. Overall a good stay. I still think the small things that Northern Lights offer makes it a little more special visit but the Wawa Motor Inn is much more the stereotype northern log motel stay if that is what you were hoping for in the northern woods.
