We return drive (together and alone) between Toronto and Fort Frances a minimum of 3 to 4 times each year with our dog. My wife was the first to drive the extra 2 hours north of Sault Saint Marie and tried the Parkway after having stayed at a number of the big chains over the years in the Sault. She was very happy and booked us there a few years ago for my first time. Now I do not want to stay anywhere else. We do travel with our dog on most trips and they have 2 rooms set aside for pets for a nominal extra fee; which we have paid more than double for at some of the chains. We feel very comfortable at the Parkway from the easy friendly check in, to our clean updated room. The motel is set back from the road so best watch for their sign; but that setback is great not having traffic noise through the night. There is a good place to walk your dog or for the kids to stretch their legs and a very nice area with a BBQ to be able to sit out and get some fresh air and have a conversation. Can not say enough on how well it is maintained with updated facilities; very comfortable beds and nice hot showers at the end of a long day. This year more than ever, everyone should support these great businesses and you will not be disappointed. We will always book there on the 6 to 8+ times per year we drive this route. Perfect after that long drive: friendly, clean, quiet and very reasonable. You can see the pride of ownership on how well the Parkway is maintained. Give them a try you will not be disappointed.

We had a lovely stay at the Parkway Motel with our dog. The couple running the motel were very friendly both over the phone and in person. They even had extra utensils for us to use when we realized our takeout food didn’t come with it, and they provided a corkscrew to open our bottle of wine. The motel was quiet, clean, and comfortable. There is a big open grassy space in front of the motel if you have a dog.

The Parkway is a great motel on the Trans Canada Highway. This stretch of the highway is not known for up to date accommodations and motels that aren't dingey. This motel is truly the exception! On beautifully landscaped grounds, this small motel is run by very friendly owners who have renovated this property. All amenities seem brand new, including sheets and towels. It was a pleasure to stay there in the most comfortable room on our way towards Kenora and back!

We went through in February on our way to Toronto. Our unit was warm and cosy with a small table for eating. The beds are super comfortable with good quality linens. Most of all we appreciated the lack of perfumy smells such as downy or air fresheners. The room was quiet with no distracting fridge noises or loud heating units. The pillows were flat and comfortable with good support. Overall a well thought out place with the comfort of the visitor foremost in mind.

The motel is set well back from highway 17 so it was perfectly quiet. The room was a good size and so clean we wondered if it had just been painted (probably not since there was no paint smell). Good idea to book early since there aren't many alternatives near Wawa and there's lots of highway work around there (at least when we were there at the end of September) so some of the crew are probably staying in local hotels. We got in because of a cancellation.

My situation was a little unique, I arrived without a vehicle. My boss booked the room for me, not knowing that this motel is 5 miles from any services. When I arrived, I suggested that perhaps this wasn't the place for me and I should find a place closer to town, well that's when the fireworks started. My boss had only booked the room an hour before I arrived, I asked if they had charged my card yet and the gentleman (I'm being polite) responded "not yet" but we have a 24-hour cancellation policy. This was a huge issue for him. I succumbed due to weariness and pressure. My problem was there was nowhere to buy anything for subsistence in either direction for approximately five miles, a major difficulty with no transport. Subsequently I went without. To surmise, I put up with a difficult situation, the room was old but had been renovated. The bed was good but the room had no a/c. My biggest issue was the attitudes and total disregard for customer service of the grumpy, unprofessional and cash grabbing owners! (The last part being just my humble opinion.) I’m a business traveller who frequents hotels in the neighbourhood of 200 nights a year I have never written a review before today. My suggestion, there must be something better than this in town. I won’t be back to the Parkway Motel, this much is certain!

We received a very warm welcome at reception and were pleasantly surprised by the motel room accommodations. They were very clean, well appointed and furnished with solid, hand made hardwood furniture. The beds were comfortable; there were plenty of toiletries. The motel is conveniently located on the main Trans Canada Highway, close to restaurants and gasoline stations in Wawa.

An amazing and extremely clean property. One of the cleanest motels we’ve ever stayed in and we have travelled all over North America and stayed in many. Very comfortable beds with fresh, crisp, good quality linen. Well designed bathrooms give you the privacy you need. Beautiful, well maintained property with friendly and professional staff. Very enjoyable experience! We would highly recommend this motel, it is definitely a 5-star establishment that could compete with many chain hotels.

Stopped here en route to Thunder Bay. Room was a good size, with two comfortable queen beds. The owners keep a good motel. Everything clean and tidy, and there is a barbecue you can use if you want to cook out. Surprisingly little noise, both from the highway or the other rooms. We got a fine recommendation for dinner, 5 minutes south (Kinnewabi Pines - stunning view from patio), and the awesome Magpie Scenic Falls are literally 10 minutes away. Highly recommended.

We were on a motorcycle tour of Northern Ontario and we booked at his motel. I was impressed. Very clean and spacious. Nice huge, front lawn you can play sports or sit around and relax. There is an excellent, communal barbecue you can use on the lawn too. Bathrooms were very clean and the office staff were really friendly!

A restaurant recommended by the staff that is in walking distance called Kinniwabi Pines, I can now highly recommend too!.
