We enjoyed everything about our stay at Gordon's Beach Farmstay. The Muir Cabin has everything you need for a wonderful getaway. We cooked all our meals in the cabin and enjoyed dining while watching the animals and the ocean view. Diane and Mike were a pleasure. We enjoyed the 5pm ritual with Mike, of putting the free-range chickens back in their run, taking the goats for a walk and then giving them and the lambs their treats. Mike was happy to answer every question and make sure we had the best experience. When my wife said she had never held a chicken, Mike put one in her arms and showed her the proper way.

We also had fun exploring the surrounding area and the Farmstay was the best location for that. Mike and Diane were quick to make suggestions and we explored the Sooke Potholes Regional Park and several of the local beaches. We look forward to a return trip sometime in the future.

My wife and I had the best weekend staying here! It's the perfect place for a relaxing getaway. The property is beautiful, well- kept, and has an incredible ocean view. We stayed in the cabin and loved it. Super clean, cozy and we really enjoyed the West Coast decor. The kitchenette was the perfect size and made it easy to eat in. Plus farm fresh eggs on the counter when we arrived! They were so delicious we had to bring a couple dozen home. The shower was big and luxurious, one of the best parts of the cabin, and the bed was so comfortable! Animal lovers and kids would absolutely love it here. The most friendly goats are right across from the cabin. You can watch them while enjoying your breakfast and then go out to say hi. Free- range chickens everywhere! We got a real kick out of the chickens coming right up to the cabin door. Mike and Diane were incredibly hospitable and kind. Goat walks and feeding the chickens in the evening were a real highlight of the trip. There were also sheep, including lambs, and the sweetest dog, Nelly. You can tell how well the animals are taken care of. We really appreciated the extra touches like the fire that Mike set up for us and Diane's homemade lavender soaps in the cabin. Location was great, close to provincial parks and took less than 10 min. to walk to the beach. This place is a wonderful spot for couples, families, or someone just looking for some peace and quiet. We will definitely be back! :)

My wife and I have stayed in the Muir Cottage six times, each visit being for about 4 nights. This last visit was the first post Covid. Di had ensured every Covid precaution. We love the cottage as it quiet, with a magnificent view of the ocean and mountains of Washington state. Di keeps the place spotlessly clean, and supplies us with eggs ( and this time with her jam as well).
We have the care of a 3 year old grandchild during the day and she is enraptured with the lambs, chickens, dog and goats. She runs wild and safely around the farm.

Mike has created a sweeping lawn which is ideal for running, kite flying and gazing at the ocean. We go exploring everyday at the magnificent rocky beaches, Shirley Delicious coffee shop, and Whiffin Spit at nearby Sooke. This time we used the BBQ outside our cabin for dinners. Delightful.
We will be back and have booked in August 2020 for the next visit.

Hi John, Thank you very much for taking the time to write such a wonderful review... I think we moved here because Mike has a lawn fetish and enjoys cutting 10 acres of lawn. LOL.... It is so nice that your little one is now able to enjoy the animals.... It is very much appreciated all your kind words and look foward to seeing you next month.. Cheers, Mike & Diane

Located just up the hill from Gordon Beach is Mike and Diane’s picturesque farm and B&B. We stayed in the Muir Cabin which provided lots of privacy and entertainment from the goats and chickens below. The cabin was spotless, comfortable and well-appointed. There’s a view of the ocean from almost anywhere on the property that we were encouraged to walk and explore. The fire pit area in front of the main house was also appreciated! Mike and Diane were kind and very hospitable; they provided a breakfast tray and were easily accessible for questions. If you are lucky you might be able to see Mike conduct the daily goat walk around the property. The B&B is located in a great spot in between the town and all the great beaches to the north. We’ve already booked another stay for next year!

This was our second year at Gordon Beach Farmstay. We were in the Muir Cabin. Myself, my husband and teenager. Diane and Mike were very welcoming as they were last year. They used all the COVID precautions. It was very safe.

They welcomed my talkative daughter visiting with them and the animals. Answering all her questions on various topics. Especially on the “goat walk”.

They did extra things, like brought us some yummy fresh corn and set up the fire pit, so all we had to do was light it.

We love the location. It is great for day trips to the local beaches or the potholes. Or staying put and enjoying the hammock or lawn chair.

We will return again next year and hopefully bring Grandma who could stay in one of the suites.

Excellent location close to Sooke's finest beaches yet nestled high enough for expansive views. Being a hobby farm, one experiences the fun of having livestock, chickens, eagles deer and cotton tails roaming the grounds! Absolutely fantastic for children. Hosts are wonderful and go above and beyond with a "goat walk" and information for the little one's on the animals as well as petting and feeding! The self-contained cabin where we stayed was lovely, clean and very comfortable with many amenities to make a family stay fun and comfortable. Thank you Diane and Mike!

We had a great time! What's not to love: spotless rooms, million dollar views, excellent hosts (Mike & Diane), plus a 5:00 pm animal walk with goats, lambs, donkeys, chickens, cats and a crazy dog! No wonder they have such loyal customers. Once you visit you will want to come back.

The Muir Cabin is clean, comfortable, and very cute. We really appreciated the basic pantry (including coffee, fresh eggs, oil, and salt/pepper) that so many places don’t provide these days. There was plenty of space for our belongings and to let our toddler play. Mike and Diane are very friendly hosts and we so appreciated that they went the extra mile to give our son a special farm experience (including feeding/petting the animals and a tractor ride). Great price, too!

We were cycling the Galloping goose trail and didn't have lunch or dinner before reaching the farmstay. As it was hard to get food, they made us a plate of cold cut to eat and next day gave us a ride to town so we could get supply.

The location was beautiful and it was the best value place we have stayed during 2 weeks in BC. We wished we had a car to explore the beautiful location.

We had such a great stay the Gordons Beach Farmstay. The views, the animals and the hosts made it beyond perfect. The baby sheep were adorable, the goats are so friendly and the chickens roaming around made it magical. Thank you Mike who interacted with our kids so kindly and made them feel so comfortable and part of the farm. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. It was a perfect escape. We cant wait to go back!!!
