In need of a quiet Pre-Christmas family reconnect, we booked one of the houses for a 5 night stay. The house offered everything my family wanted - wood burning stove for my husband, hot tub and fully equipped kitchen for me and wifi for my 17 year old. Even laterns (and a very caring host) were available when a winter storm hit, knocking out power for a longer than anticipated period of time. Alexander and his wife checked in on us periodically and made the visit oh so enjoyable (even in the darkness.) The location is an easy 40 minute drive from Victoria (even in bad weather) and the waterfront location and views are amazing. I would highly recommend a stay here any time of year!!

I am SO grateful that I found this gorgeous place, it was exactly what my little baby soul needed :) I had already had a very stressful 24 hrs after a previous trip was canceled and Alexander was so kind to allow me to book in at the last minute. The place was immaculate and as soon as I walked in through the door and saw the ocean laid out in front of me, there was just a huge sigh of relief and happiness.
Quiet and calm is a big deal for me and this provided both, I never heard a thing except for the waves and birds. You could hear the Pacific loon in the mornings and see the cruise ships go by in the night. The views are just outstanding and the hot tub was an added bonus at the end of the day.
Thank you ever so much, I will definitely be back when I need another “me” break!!♥️

On our arrival we were greeted by Alexander, who welcomed us and gave us the rundown of how to access the suite and where to find the rest of the info we would need for our stay. What an incredible suite! Everything was just perfect for a romantic getaway , a panoramic ocean view , the hot tub on the deck , and comfortable bed and pillows. We really enjoyed the hot tub during the day with a stunning view of the ocean, and in the evening looking up at the stars . Lots of nice touches . A nice selection of chocolates and tea , well equipped kitchen, comfortable sitting area and plenty of towels for the hot tub ! No problem relaxing here as the soothing sounds of the ocean were all we could hear! We requested one minor adjustment to the hot tub and Alexander and Veronica wasted no time in taking care of it for us. We would absolutely recommend Points West Oceanfront Resort for anyone who is looking for a relaxing getaway at the ocean.

Really wonderful place. Great views, coastline, gardens, units. Alexander and family make you feel at home. Well appointed. Ten to fifteen minutes north of Sooke.Idyllic. Every unit a has a great view of Juan de Fuca and the Olympic Peninsula. Saw orcas, seals, swans, geese, ducks and more right from the property. Plus there's a monkey puzzle tree!

My husband and I wanted a little getaway from the city so we booked Points West Oceanfront Resort. We stayed in the Rooftop Oceanfront Suite and were amazed by the breath-taking views from all angles of the suite. The private hot tub is a wonderful feature to have. The suite was clean, well equipped with fridge, microwave and coffee-maker and the king bed was very comfortable. We loved our stay and will be back very soon.

Amazing spot!! Settled in a valley looking out to the ocean and mountains. The roof top hot tub at sunset with the views, you can’t beat it! Relaxing and romantic 3 day break! Loads of beach’s and hikes / nature to explore , bbq every night, perfect!!! Xander the host greeted us on arrival and was very informative. Thank you again, can’t wait to get back!!!

We stayed in the roomtop suite with its own hot tub which was very quiet relaxing and had wonderful views. Our hostess was very helpful with regard to sightseeing and restaurants. Very nice for a romantic getaway, however the room was quite small and if you need a desk to work at it is less easy. There was a small table that could be used, but this was also the only dining table.
The shower was slightly awkward to get in and out of and you would not want to have any mobility issues to stay in this room as there were also quite steep stairs up to it. There was coffee and tea supplied, but for the price some fresh milk as well would have been nice. The bed was comfortable and the views to die for. You often would see seals and lots of birds if you were a nature lover. Sitting in the hottub watching the view was a very relaxing and enjoyable experience.
The hotel is outside of Sooke (about a 15 minute drive further west) and there are no shops close by, but that is part of its charm being so secluded. Our GPS sent us to the blackfish resort which is about 200 metres closer to Sooke, so if you see blackfish rd - keep going it is the next on the left.

My partner and I spent 3 nights at Points West back in March. We were fortunate enough to rent the top floor suite here, and it was very nice. The view was spectacular, the private hot tub was nice and the bed comfortable.
We were however a bit surprised at a couple of things. First, there is a great lack of storage space for clothes and travel items. We found this awkward having to live out of our suitcases. Second, we were somewhat taken aback at the aloofness of our hostess after reading all the other reviews. We saw her when we arrived and when we left, and on both occasions the contact was very businesslike and somewhat aloof and hurried.
The property itself is large and there is waterfront access, and the resort is close enough to Sooke to be convenient.
We wouldn't go back though, despite the fact that it was a nice experience it wasn't outstanding.

Our Rooftop unit, with panoramic views overlooking the beautiful Strait of Juan de Fuca, with the Olympic mountains as a backdrop, is one of our most popular units. With regard to storage space, the room comes with a closet with two rails for hanger clothing plus two shelves. Many of our guests are international travelers and upon arrival, are understandably quite tired, and keen to get to their accommodation. I therefore try to keep the check in as brief as possible for their sake. They are after all, here to enjoy the beauty of the location and some much needed r&r.

If your looking for a quiet relaxing stay this is the place to go. If you do not want to be interrupted and have privacy you could not ask for a better place. This is difficult to find these days. The Ocean view was the highlight.
Sooke grocery stores are about 13 km from this location. Many artisans located near by and great hiking in both directions form this location.
Furniture was decent enough, but not luxury comfortable for as long stay as we did. (bed, couch, chaise, etc.) Relative to other 5 star hotels we have stayed at. Great for a few days, but not over a week. Typically furniture is not highly important, as we are active on our vacations, but we needed some down time for this vacay and spent a bit more time than usual indoors.
Patio furniture, BBQ and hot tub was a great addition for relaxing outdoors.

With regard to comfort, Rooftop Oceanfront Suite features a Fairmont King Mattress, (used in many 5 star hotels), as well as a 600 sq ft private deck and hot tub, with panoramic ocean and mountain views. Ocean Point Suite is 900 sq ft, features a large seating area with a Natuzzi leather sectional, as well as a dining area and full kitchen. As mentioned by the reviewer, there is also a large private patio with hot tub. As we are located on a private beach, in addition to hiking, paddle boarding, kite surfing and kayaking are also popular guest activities.

When we booked Points West Oceanview in November we anticipated a beautiful suite with a fabulous view and when we finally arrived in May, we were overwhelmed by every aspect of this experience.
It definitely was secluded as the winding roadway through the greenery took us away from the highway to this luxuriously quiet spot by the beach.
Veronica greeted us and gave us the layout and directed us up the outside garden stairs to our rooftop resort. Everything we needed, plus more, was in the immaculate suite.
Absolutely spotless with comfortable bed and leather settees all looking out the big corner windows over the Juan de Fuca Strait and the Olympia Mountains. We spent the evening on the deck just looking out over the water and then later sat in the very comfortable and nicely warm hot tub.
For breakfast and later at dinner we used the BBQ to cook fresh seafood.
An abundance of fresh, clean and fluffy towels were stacked next to the shower so never a need to call or ask for more.
If we didn't have a flight out of Victoria we might have asked to stay on, it was so nice. There will be another visit here, for sure.

Yes, activities like hiking, surfing and sightseeing are enjoyed year round because of the milder weather. The winter is also a great time for an outdoor hot tub!
There are more places to choose from in the Sooke area.
