The backdrop to this review is of disgruntled guests (Juta and Gordon) who had attempted to cancel their booking (for entirely discretionary reasons), well outside the cancellation/refund window. The photo and description of the view that was provided by these guests is deliberately misleading. It was taken from the right hand corner of a 30 ft sun deck off the living space directly into the trees adjacent to this corner of the deck, reducing the actual view significantly. Our recent management photo (labelled ‘Actual view from Ocean Point House A sundeck’) was taken from the same sundeck, and clearly shows unobstructed ocean and mountain views. While ignoring the well maintained 5 acre grounds and private beach (which is literally seconds away), instead, she posts a photo of two plant pots. The oceanfront patio in front of the house is large and comfortable (please see our management photo labelled ‘Ocean Point House A front’). A new hot tub cover will be installed this week. Her contradictory review states that the unit was ‘clean and comfortable’ yet rates it 1 star for ‘Sleep Quality’. She complains of a lack of firewood for a high heat wood stove on a humid July day?? (evening firewood is provided in the fall and winter). As price and affordability were an issue for this reviewer, they could have significantly reduced their costs by booking one of our self contained 2 person occupancy oceanfront suites (at half the cost).

Thank you for the review. So glad that you enjoyed the spectacular ocean and mountain views. With regard to extended stays, Rooftop Oceanfront Suite features over 1000 sq feet of oceanfront real estate located in its own private wing. There is a large, private wraparound deck (650 sq ft) with hot tub and gas BBQ; the suite is approximately 450 sq ft with a kitchenette and soaker tub/shower. A private beach is steps away. The cat you mentioned is an outdoor feral that likes to visit the resort (while friendly, is not allowed indoors). Staff are available at all times; we endeavour to give our guests the privacy they are seeking, to maximize their enjoyment of this beautiful location.

Do you have private hot tubs on the deck and is the resort dog friendly

Hi there, we have a no pets policy. Rooftop oceanfront suite has a private deck and hot tub.

How is this area in the winter? Around January time frame, I realize some activities would be restricted due to the weather, but are you able to still go out and enjoy your time?

Yes, activities like hiking, surfing and sightseeing are enjoyed year round because of the milder weather. The winter is also a great time for an outdoor hot tub!

Any hiking trails? Waterfalls?

Yes, there are many hiking trails in the surrounding area (as well as a couple of waterfalls).
