We had a very pleasant night at the Westgate Inn. Our host/owner, Paul couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful. This is an older style motel on the outskirts of town, but well worth the visit. We have been trying to support local businesses as we cross Canada on our road trip and it’s places like this that make us happy to do so. Our room was spotless, very comfortable and nicely decorated. Even though we were on the bottom front, facing the road, it was very quiet. If you’re in the area, it’s a great spot to spend the night.
Stayed here twice traveling to Saskatchewan from southern Ontario then back home again six weeks later. Fantastic dog friendly motel, even has a a large grass area out back for walking the dogs. Convenient location just off the Trans Canada on the edge of town. Parking out back for my dually pick up and large cargo trailer was well lit and more than ample ( easy in and out). Rooms were large , tidy, well kept, had no odors and comfortable. The bathrooms were spotlessly clean . Rooms were also very quiet and beds very comfortable . Owners Paul and Tricia are very friendly people and great to talk to .Would highly recommend The Westgate !
The motel is not quite to the vintage stage. It is well kept, friendly staff, comfortable bed and very clean. It fronts onto hwy 1A but after 11 PM I heard no traffic. I guess the best compliment I can give is that I would stay here again.
Excellent surprise, Pet friendly, people friendly too. Rooms are great with lots of room and clean and quiet. . Close to Trans Canada Highway. Easy in and out. Will definitely stay there again on our way back home!
Locations is great, a direct drive heading out of town.Good Greek restaurant nearby. There has been some updating in this mid century modern Inn.Immaculately clean ! I felt very safe staying here with all the Covid precautions in place, showing great respect for customers. Unlimited hot water and did I mention luxurious silky soap, even my husband commented on this soap! I would definitely stay again.
A really well-managed 1960s style motel at the eastern edge of town. Located in a quiet area, rooms have been modernized, great mattresses. I have stayed here before and will stay here again. Excellent value for the money. Fast internet, coffeemakers, fridges, etc. - all the usual amenities.
Convenient place to stay, just off the trans Canada highway, on the main street. Reasonable value for the price. Breakfast a little skinny. Our musician host and partner were very friendly and shared experiences about a musical career. Will stay there again.
We pulled over late in the evening to book a hotel for the night, saw the Inn was online & a reasonable price so booked up! Such a great host, one of the owners was there at check in doing the logistics, our booking hadn’t gone through but he made sure we got the best rate. Rooms were comfortable, clean and spacious. Nice use of space and amenities. Bathroom some could argue was looking a little tired but still clean which was the main thing. Nice selection of complimentary bathroom amenities. Good breakfast in the morning, continental easy to grab and go, or stay to eat. Again, friendly staff! Such a wonderful attitude on the world & can just tell is a good person! Our stay was short and sweet but would 100% recommend
