The Fernie RV Resort offers 161 fully-serviced RV sites, (26 are pull-throughs) 11 tenting sites, 5 heated yurts and 10 luxury RV Lodges. The resort is open year-round. The location is nestled between the Elk River, Fernie Golf Course and Maiden Lake. It is also close to Fernie’s shopping and dining services, and the Historic Downtown. The Riverside Resort Trail connects with the Fernie trail network for endless walking and biking and in Winter months the trail is groomed and connects with a Nordic network. Amenities include two family-style washrooms with private showers, sinks and toilets, 30 and 50 amp service, free WiFi, a professional laundry, kids’ playground, pump-track, sani-dump and water fill-up station. Winter amenities include full-service winterized RV sites with all-weather plumbing, regular snow clearing of the sites and direct access to groomed multi-use and Nordic trails.

This is a very lovely campground ... however, I think there are some things that can be improved:
- It is VERY expensive (the most expensive campground I have ever stayed in!) .. without being obviously different than other campgrounds except more things for kids (which I don't have) and newer.
- It could have more trees ... it is very barren (especially for the cost)
- For the size of the area, there could have been a third bathroom closer to the back end (where I was staying)
- There are two sets of bathrooms, the 'white' ones are very bright inside, the 'rusting steel' ones are VERY dark inside (the lighting is poor)
- They ask you bring your own matt into the showers or place your towel on the floor (what?) ... ideally a second drain just outside the shower with a thick heavy duty rubber mat would have solved that problem ... but the floors get very wet outside the shower since there is no drain ... I think some solution should be made with that
- there is not enough counter space for women with curling irons, blow dryers, etc ... in the steel / gray ones ... (yes, you still go out when you are camping!)
- the sinks in the grey/steel ones are VERY awkward (flat) ... and to keep it clean for the next person, it is challenging with the lack of drainage ....
- for the price one pays, one set of logs to burn each night would be nice ... we got in late, and couldn't buy logs ... no staff there (late meaning 8 pm)
It is clean, new, tidy ... and you have to pay for the washer / dryer, but it is very nice to have that ... as well as a sink to utilize in the laundry room ...

We love staying here and come back every year! It's walking distance into town, I can go to one of the local yoga studios and the trail system from the RV site is amazing!

My review is from the following perspective. My wife and I travel 6-7 months a year in a 45-foot Class A Motorhome towing a car. We visited over 450 campgrounds, RV Parks in the last 11 years. Dry camping, Resorts, Walmart? - we have done them all. We are not campers * we are travelers/ visitors we are not sitting around the fire, or just hanging out. We travel to see the Sights, Museums, Places we have not been. I try to keep emotions out of my rating system and it works works like this. I typically start at 3 (met expectations). Then a 4 if something nicer than expected happens. And a 5 only if the experience was exceptional. I rate a place a 1 if its truly bad infrastructure and or bad management, A 2 rating? something didnt meet minimum expectations, or not as advertised. I rated this campground a 4 because of the very, very nice manicured grounds. Resort? Not really, because although it is very pleasing to the eyes it offers no Resort amenities. Now the facts- Staff were pleasant but not memorable. Roads are all paved but on the narrow side. Sites were manicured, clean, well laid out. Utilities were first class. Didnt use cable, WiFi was slow but campground was full so many people using it. Star Link should work fine for you but depending on the site you might have problems with the trees. My roof top dish worked great but again depending on the site you could have no visibility of satellite/ no service. iPhone 13 roaming on Verizon was maybe 1 bar and iffy. No parking for your toys or extra equipment/ trailers. Pictures accurately show park conditions. At $68 per night this is a little more than average cost but because of the manicured sites it is a reasonable price. Playground area for the young kids. Lots of people walking themselves and or their dogs here.Bottom line would I stay here again? ABSOLUTELY!!!I

A very open campground with few trees so little privacy. There is a main washroom in the middle of the grounds - it’s beautifully clean and unique (separate rooms with shower, toilet and basin).
There was one toilet near us that was not very well kept (paper ran out etc). But it did have a great dishwashing station. You can only buy ice when the office was open (10-6) so no honour system as with other campgrounds.
You can only get a particular site if you pay more!

Great RV resort within riding distance to downtown Fernie. Fernie RV resort looks to be a great place to basecamp for mountain bike riding in the area. We were in town for the Fernie Gravel Grinder and did not bring our mountain bikes. Next visit and stay will be with the mountain bikes. We especially liked and used the dog wash station that was located at the restroom shower building, great touch! Be mindful of what spots you do pick as some spots have very little shade. Our next visit we will make sure to lock in and reserve a specific spot.

Thanks for the review and mentioning the Dog Washing Station! Yes, bring your mtn bikes next visit - fernie has 300km or biking trails and getting to them is easy with the connector trails! Locking in is a great option for booking a specific site. Section E, F and G offer the best shade options. See you next time!

For a large resort we found the spaces to be large and it was very quiet. Will stay again. The views from our site were just amazing. The staff were very friendly. We purchased fire wood and they made sure we had kindling for starting it. The items were very clean , something you don't see very much any more

You can't beat the location for this RV resort! You are sandwiched between the golf course and the river and downtown is within walking distance. Not up for the walk? The resort has complimentary bicycles for guests. We love staying here: sites are roomy and laid out to maximize privacy, the grounds and bathrooms are kept tidy, and the wifi is great for those of us that need to stay connected even when camping. And the views are breathtaking.

It was a lot of money to pay for a sight that we usually pay half for with bigger trees and better showers. We did not use showers as the number of them were no match for the number of campers. Site was clean, spacious and level. It would be a good central location for those who are hiking or cycling the area.
