Our little family got in around 9pm. The lady working the front desk on May 10/22 was a sweet heart. She was very accommodating and helpful. The kids were excited to play in the games room so we snuck in a quick game of pool and darts before we headed to bed. The rooms were clean and not all like one of the reviews I had read. Most reviews were great but there was one that nearly made me not want to book here. I’m glad we decided to book because I now feel this will be our go to spot whenever we pass through.

They have a huge shared kitchen with everything you need. A free laundry room and if you don’t have any detergent…they got you covered for a small fee. Lots of board games and a theatre room that you can rent a movie from the front desk. We weren’t able to do this as we got in one hour before all things were closed(10pm). The laundry you can do around the clock. My only suggestion to Management is to have everything open till 11pm. The games room and pool are down in the basement so it wouldn’t disturb any guests. The hot tub, sauna and movie room as well. I found 10pm to be early as we got in later.

We were giving a couple breakfast bags to take to our rooms which consisted of a couple apples, muffins, yogurts and spoons. We asked for a late check out as we wanted to enjoy some of the amenities the next day and the lady working the front desk was understanding and said no problem. The only bad thing I’d say besides everything closing at 10pm is the mini fridge in the room got a bit noisy at night but all in all if definitely recommend staying here.

We just spent the past weekend at the Red Tree Lodge and really enjoyed our stay! We were looking for a hotel room that was somewhat modern and close to downtown. There are several choices of hotels, but none of the rooms available seemed to be updated or what we were looking for. For some reason I didn't see the Mount Fernie Suite for quite awhile (outdated booking engine didn't highlight room types very well), but I did finally land on it when viewing the photo gallery. It was EXACTLY what my husband and I were looking for!

The suite is quite large (2 hotel rooms put together). We loved watching TV and sharing some wine in the living room on the comfy leather couch. The bathroom was very nice and the Jacuzzi was wonderful. The kitchen had the items we were looking for (except a wash cloth, there was soap though).

The separate bedroom was glorious! The bed had amazing bedding and pillows and was so comfortable! We had great sleeps! There's also a TV in the bedroom, which was nice.

Since covid is still around, there wasn't a full breakfast, but you got an apple, a Tim Horton's muffin and a yogurt to start your day. We didn't use the pool, hot tub, sauna etc., because of the Jacuzzi in the room, but you can book a time and have them all to yourself!

The staff that I encountered at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. They had Covid protocols in place and even had handless door entry (you use your feet) for public doors. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back to the Red Tree Lodge the next time we need a weekend getaway to Fernie.

Nothing fancy but well equipped, clean and comfortable. Very friendly staff. Didn't try the pool though occasionally could smell the water. Multiple entry ways make loading and unloading easier. Restaurant closed due to COVID but enough other places open. Actually, it was quiet despite being so close to the highway - and I'm one of those sensitive folks! The Communal Kitchen room down the hall was closed but I could see that when open, that may be a source of noise into the hallway - though a handy facility to have and use!

I have stayed at the Red Tree on a number of occasions, the most recent being in January 2020. All of my stays have been for Nonstop ski courses.
The lodge is perfectly located for both the ski hill and the town of Fernie.
The staff are always very welcoming and friendly, and able to answer all questions thrown their way. The lodge is spotlessly clean throughout.
The rooms within the lodge are of a high standard, some with lovely balconies. The beds are very comfortable.
The amenities are excellent, with a lovely hot tub which is most welcome after a hard day’s skiing, along with a swimming pool, communal kitchen area and movie room.
The bar and restaurant area is cosy with a roaring fire in the corner, and a great selection of food and drink. I was particularly impressed with the vegetarian selection on my most recent stay, and of course with the generous breakfasts.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Red Tree to anybody planning a trip to Fernie.

Second time at Red Tree on a Nonstop boarding course and it was spot-on. Got to know the manager Jon a little more on this trip and he immediately remembered me from 2 years ago! All the staff are, as before, super-friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Located about 15mins walk from the town centre, opposite the curling and ice-hockey rinks, and with a great curry and sushi restaurant on 7th Av there's plenty to do in the evenings.

When I signed up to a “powder chasing tour”, with the so called “non-stop”, I didn’t expect to end up in accommodation resembling a school camp full of young kids from London on ski instructor courses. Furthermore, finding myself being picked up for the 15 minute journey to the ski lifts in a school bus!!
You can’t get in the hot tub, as it’s full of the school kids, and they wander the corridors in packs late at night.
There’s lots of good things about this hotel but I was hoping for a grown ups holiday.
The good things include comfortable beds, a decent Breakfast and in house laundry facilities. Just don’t ask for help when you’re unsure of the air conditioning settings....
Will I return? Most likely not!

Response from RedTree_Staff, General Manager at Red Tree Lodge
Responded Feb 14, 2020
Hi SydneyCrabtree, While I am glad to hear there were aspects of our hotel that you approved of, your depiction of our guests is inaccurate. Nonstop had 60 guests staying at the Red Tree Lodge last week. All 60 guests were adults (none were "school kids") One of the very best things about Nonstop's courses is the varied mix of people who join us and stay at the Red Tree Lodge. Guests from all over the world, from all sorts of backgrounds, and of a mixed age group create a positive, rich and diverse social environment. This is perhaps best on display in the evenings at our on-site restaurant, Smokehouse, where skiers and snowboarders from all over the globe enjoy each other's company and share delicious meals and tales of the day's on-snow adventures. All of Nonstop's guests share a love of skiing or snowboarding and are in Fernie for the same reason - to massively improve their skills and enjoy meeting like-minded people. Although we feel that someone's age shouldn't matter, I thought the following statistics might be helpful: When you stayed with us, the average guest age was 35 years old. 20 of the 60 guests were 40 years old and above. 13 guests were 19 years old. I am sorry to hear that when you visited our hot tub you found it to be occupied. It's a popular amenity and it would be awesome to have multiple tubs. We own several style of buses and consistently find that our yellow school buses are fondly recalled by many past guests. We accept that they certainly do not offer a luxury experience but they are a relatively low-carbon way off transporting 45 people the ten minute drive to and from the ski hill each day. Plus, the journeys are often a fun social experience, especially so after a euphoric powder day! I do hope you enjoyed the rest of Nonstop's "Snow Safari" tour of BC's Powder Highway. Best wishes, Jon Ward GM - Red Tree Lodge

We stopped here for a couple of nights on our way from Banff to Vancouver. Hotel room was clean and comfortable, staff were friendly, welcoming and informative. Breakfast is only available on a to-go basis and there is no choice or pre-order available so what you get it a muffin, apple and yoghurt which was fine for us but may not be to everyone’s taste. Laundry facilities were handy as well. We used the hot tub and again it was really good, especially as it was on a pre-book basis so you get the place to yourselves. I would recommend this hotel as a stopover for a couple of days however if I was staying in Fernie longer I would maybe pick somewhere else with more choice for breakfast and more facilities open.

We travelled to Fernie in Sept of this year, 2022. After travelling for 2 klms through town, we came across the Lodge. We had upgraded to a King room and after a long day, needed to put our feet up and relax.
The Lodge was extremely clean and comfortable. There were a number of workers staying at this place, but they were all very respectful and quite, as was the hotel. The bed was extremely comfortable and the A/C worked as it should. Our sleep was excellent and the morning brought a much cooler day. i asked the girls at the front desk where the best place was to have breakfast, as we would walk there and take a look around town. They suggested Smitty's about 1.7 klms from the Lodge. You have to be careful walking as there are o sidewalks, so we drove. Great idea and a very good meal.
We returned to the hotel where I thanked the staff for an excellent stay and conversation about Fernie. I have to give credit to all the staff at this Lodge. They do more than most hotels to make us feel like we are at Home, but they did a very good job of making us feel special. Thank you all, very much for this. We will be back, but not with Arnold!!

Checking in was great. Very simple and easy. Front desk clerk was friendly and very chatty, and was very pleasant to deal with.

We did have a slight hiccup with our room and after quietly talking with the front clerk he went above and beyond to fix the issue. He was extremely professional.

I will definately be back and I do highly recommend people give this hotel a booking.

Didn’t meet our expectations.
Restaurant closed permanently. Breakfast offered was muffin and fruit in a bag. Shabby exterior; no elevator. Small windows. Looks like a place for work crews not couple of tourists. Far from downtown restaurants.
