This is the fifth large group holiday I have organised for a group of men and Alpine lodge is the best accommodation we have stayed in. There was 18 of us on this trip and we all fitted into Alpine lodge easily. Cam and Michiyo were wonderful hosts and very helpful with anything we needed. As I stated in the Title this place is truly ski in ski out. I could ski right up to the back door and I could ski straight down to the Elk chair only having to cross a road (which didn't require taking my skis off).
Spent 4 days skiing here as a school group of half adults, half kids. This place offered the ultimate in luxury home away from home ski accommodation. Offers ski in/out convenience, outdoor hot tub in a forest setting, steam room, drying room with entrance/exit for ski equip., variety of bedrooms with private bathrooms, and large cozy, rustic common, eating and cooking areas. The place is well kept with plenty of relaxing options after an active day including TV, plenty of reading material, games, and very comfortable couches/chairs. A large group could do no better than consider this option from what I've experienced or seen at Fernie Alpine.
Just stayed here for a week and held an amazing wedding! Cam and Michiyo are excellent hosts, and the facilities are fantastic. Hot tub, ski in-out, great food. Highly recommend this when planning your wedding or a large group event in the Fernie area.
Stayed here several times, never had a problem, owners attentive, rooms are clean and comfortable, no need for me to look for other accommodations while skiing Fernie, No car needed once there - walked to restaurants and took bus to town
We hosted our wedding at the Fernie Alpine Lodge in February 2016, and couldn't have been happier with the majestic scenery, the romantic lodge, and the wonderful and family-like service we received from Cam and Michiyo. Cam met with us well in advance of the wedding to listen to our plans and to put us in touch with local businesses who then helped to bring our small and intimate wedding (34 guests) to life! He and Michiyo worked their butts off during the day of the wedding itself to set up our outdoor ceremony and to prepare the outstanding food for our post-wedding feast. The Lodge itself has a rustic beauty that required next-to-no added decor. The huge floor to ceiling windows (with a view!), the expansive A-frame beautiful wooden ceiling, and the lovely stone (real wood) fireplace created the exact intimate atmosphere that we were looking for. Our wedding party was able to stay in the eight rooms at the Lodge, and our party continued well into the wee hours of the morning (with blessings from Cam and Michiyo). We continue to visit the Fernie Alpine Lodge every year and it will always hold a special place in our hearts!…
My husband and I hosted our wedding at Alpine Lodge this July, I will start by saying it was fantastic. Both our families stayed at the Lodge for the wedding weekend, they were all happy with the accommodations, good sized rooms, ensuites in each, a bunk room that worked great for the kids. It offers lots of room for relaxing, cooking, eating and drinking. The kitchen is fully stocked, we had a great time utilizing the bbq. Hot tub, steam room and fire pit available as well. We encouraged the rest of our guests to stay at hotels on the hill so they were near by the festivities, that worked out great. All our wedding events were held at the lodge, rehearsal dinner, ceremony, dinner and reception. The wedding was 50 people, I think that is the perfect number for that venue, you could easily fit more but that number worked great. The ceremony was in the back, it was a beautiful back drop and lots of room for seating. The dinner was in doors, we had 5 8 foot tables and used the large cedar table they have as the head table, there was still tons of room to get up and move around. We held the reception in the back, no dance floor instead we did games (bocce, giant jenga, that kind of thing), fires, music and snacks. Cam and Michiyo were wonderful to work with. They were there to answer my many questions, they were easy going and accommodating. The fire alarm went off in the Lodge just before our dinner started, we called Cam and he was there in minutes, our guests didn't even know it happened. I would highly recommend this as a venue for a small wedding, we couldn't be happier, the only caution I would give, there is no air conditioning, when cooking all day for a wedding on a hot summer day it got a little toasty in there, we surrounded the tables with fans and it was tolerable. Overall a wonderful experience, we would recommend for weddings, big groups and even a couples getaway for the weekend (in the summer they are slower and you have a good chance of getting it all to yourself!)…
A warm greeting by the owner who showed us around a led us to our room. The room was clean, comfortable and simple. More B&B than hotel. Has a nice outdoor hot tub and steam room. Easygoing atmosphere. The hot breakfast which was included in the price was served up with creativity and a smile.
I would recommend to anyone! We stayed here for two nights. We were greater by Mitchio (owner/do everything lady) and she was super helpful. The lodge is really nice and homey feeling. The beds were nice and big. We really enjoyed our stay even with crap snow on the hill. Breakfast was awesome, fresh hot breakfast. Restaurants and ski hill were very close, only a 1 or 2 min walk.
The resort had several hotels, some restaurants, a store and many activities you can enjoy. It is basically a Ski resort, but during the summer you can enjoy beautiful hikings, mountain biking, climbing, and many other attractions! I loved staying there for a Yoga retreat downtown. The place is clean, the is service good.
We have been going to fernie for 5 years now and this was the 3rd place we found and have stayed here every year ever since. It's great for large groups. The bedrooms are sectioned of with a hallway door so that you can't hear people in the living room and EACH room has it's own BATHROOM and SHOWER! The kitchen it huge for cooking large meals and is stocked pretty well with kitchen utensils. There is a crockpot too. The hot tub is nice. This a true ski in ski out. The only thing is if you need a lift ticket you need to ski out and then walk up the bunny hill to the village to purchase a ticket. You can ski in, but I find the path very narrow and usually walk but pretty much everyone else ski’s down it.
