The Powder Mountain Lodge is a family owned hotel with a beautiful courtyard housing an outdoor pool and BBQ area. A common room with a full kitchen, pool table, wood burning fireplace & TV area. Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
Came up for a two night ski trip booked two rooms with two queens, when we arrived something went wrong and the second room we booked was lost in the system. Obviously they were not able to make an available room out of thin air so we had to share our one room between the four of us. Sam the owner expressed his deepest apologies for this and was able to get it correct the next day and more then made up for our inconvenience. Thank you Sam for making it right for us! Would definitely stay again, location to downtown is great!

Stayed for work for 2 weeks, special rate, attentive staff. Kitchen suites stocked with basic pots and pans- was easy to use and felt like home. Quite environment. Location is ideal close to grocery store and pubs.

We got stuck in Fernie, because our car broke down on highway. One of the local person gave us a ride to the town and dropped us off at this hotel. Not knowing what to expect, we were tight on budget. The front desk manager gave us great discount and sympathize with us about our broken car. He genuinely cared about us and even gave us food for the night. Next day we hoped the car will be fixed by local mechanics, did not happen the way we hoped. So we were back at this hotel again, the manager was very kind and did not charge us anything. Even ordered us pizza. My kids were so happy to play with a cute dog named penny. Anyway we could not believe such people still exists in this world. Very kind hearted and amazing staff and manager. Thank you power mountain lodge for making us feel home.

A group of us were all booked into the motel from July 5 to 8, 2022. We all received emails from the motel on March 19 cancelling all of our reservations. One of the group phoned to ask why. She was told that they would be renovating at that time. (A strange time for renos in the busy summer season??)
We were just in Fernie at another hotel. When we drove by this place it did not look like there were any renovations. happening.
There were beautiful hanging baskets of flowers outside & the parking lot had vehicles that looked like guest vehicles.
It sounds like they got a better offer of larger group of guests so they cancelled ours.

Dear lovely guests, We’re sorry we could not accommodate you for the period you’d been looking to stay. We did have renovations started and completed on the rooms. This wasn’t exterior work and would not have been visible anywhere outside the rooms. In order to avoid potential last-minute cancellation, we gave as much notice as possible (in this case almost 4 months) for advance bookings – so alternative arrangements could be made. This was done because we had no guarantee on when renovations would end. Knowing that summer is typically busy, we took the chance that we could hopefully be able to accept short notice and walk-ins once renovations were completed. We just wanted to provide peace of mind for the guests who’d booked early so they could all make alternate arrangements and have certainty on those arrangements. Have a nice day!

Absolutely disgusting. Not sure if this place ever gets cleaned i don’t want to take my shoes off. Sent here for work and stuck for the night but never coming back again. Supposed to be here for three weeks but i can barely spend the night. Every where you look is gross, old stained furniture, stains on walls by the bed i could go on for days.

Check-in was super easy and seamless for our family and friends. We booked 7 rooms and were made very welcome while checking. Staff were very easy to deal with and accommodating. The manager was attentive and made sure our group is well taken care of. He also reminded us of noise policy and no smoking policy etc. Our rooms were clean, and adequately fine. We used private courtyard and area around the pool to chill and relax and had tons of fun. Certainly will recommend this lodge to anyone. Price was very good and location un-beatable.

Staff were caring yet professional. Price fair for a resort town. Hotel was busy yet quite. Rooms can use some updates but was clean and ok. We had great time. Used hot tub and played snooker. The staff had a a small cute dog, felt like home.

I've never stayed at a hotel where I felt like I was at home. The owner Sam goes way out of his way to make our 6 night stay awesome! Stayed here for a week and it was located right in the town of Fernie. The grounds were beautiful courtyard was amazing spent lots of time enjoying the beauty from the courtyard. This was a family vacation with the kids we enjoyed the whole experience. The hotel had everything you would need to stay long term. Kitchen equipped with everything, very clean and hotel staff was amazing. We played pool in the evenings and enjoyed the hot tub. I will be planned another holiday this summer as they have a beautiful outdoor pool.
