I had a nice 1 night stay here. My room was clean and spacious for my needs. The Tandoor restaurant was quite good and saved me a trip into town. This hotel is located outside of the main centre but Fernie is small so it’s only a few minutes to get anywhere.

Where do I start. The room was dirty, shelves down stairs dusty, carpet dirty, not finished by patio doors. Putty on walls and definately dated and not well kept at all. When I went to front desk for a card to lay a complaint, she gave me email that didn't work. Games are rigged and wire around arm so it has no chance to win any prize. Breakfast not healthy. Definately not senior or handicapped accessible. The pool you go down stairs and then up to use pool.. would never recommend or go back.

We had a comfortable room with access onto a patio deck. The location is good being just a short drive into the town of Fernie. Across the street is a gas station and store for cold drinks and ice. We stayed four nights and would recommend it to others.

My husband and I spent two night here. We booked a 2 queen room and we were surprised to find a loft with a king size bed. This room would have been perfect if we had our two kid with us. Hotel is showing its age a little. Chip in the bathtub, small holes in the wall, small TVs, etc. Be prepared for some traffic noise as it is right off of the highway. We plan to come back with the kids. Pool looked amazing. Little games room looked fun. Mini fridge and microwave is also a huge plus. Staff were kind and allowed us a late check out. Be prepared to not find anyone at the front desk. In all our travels in and out, no one was there. But there is a phone number to call and then they will come up in a few minutes.

My wife and I stayed at Fernie Stanford Resort for one night during the return part of a Vancouver to Saskatoon road trip. We booked via Expedia around noon while driving from Saskatoon, paying $184 (including taxes) for a “Jacuzzi suite”. I don’t know that we needed the giant Jacuzzi tub in the living room, but it was probably the best room rate available. Check in was quick and easy. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room was amazing for the price. The bedroom was a loft, which looked down over the living room, giving it something of a "chalet" feel. The living room had a giant Jacuzzi tub, and also had lovely stonework in the wall. The room had a sliding glass door to a balcony that overlooked the small parking lot and the river running behind the hotel. I could quibble that the TV in the living room was very small, but there was a larger one in the bedroom, so the living room TV was really a bonus. The bar fridge was a very large bar fridge (not the small ones you normally get). The room also had a microwave, which we would have used, if not for the lovely free breakfast. One of the best features was the included breakfast. It had an assortment of oatmeal, eggs, yogurt, and muffins, as well as a waffle iron and a very fancy pancake machine. We didn’t use the pool, but it looked quite inviting. I almost never give a rating above 4. In fact, the last time I awarded hotel accommodation 5-out-of-5 was 54 hotel reviews ago, in 2014. But the loft bedroom, jacuzzi, balcony overlooking the river, plus those pancakes, and all at that price, put the Fernie Stanford Resort squarely into 5-out-of-5 territory. …

Front desk staff were nice. Breakfast room is vast but set up for breakfast is cramped. There was good variety although they dont replenish so if all the yogourts get taken then you’re out of luck. Pool was fun, but it is soooo dirty. There was a ring of grime around the hot tub, so gross. The guest rooms were clean enough, but all the public spaces were dirty. Twice I looked through a window in the lobby wondering why it was hazy outside to come to the conclusion the windows were just awfully dirty. The building is old and they don’t seem to spend money on the upkeep. Next time we’ll try the Ramada.

Not new but very clean and very nice. Unbelievable for the price. Lovely views of the Canadian Rockies. Breakfast room is pretty awesome, big windows and great scenery. A nice variety of food available at the free breakfast. Restaurant in house although we didn’t use it. Highly recommended.

It was OK. I don’t want to get down on it too much as it’s a family friendly resort that’s obviously aimed at kids with the waterslide. Who can argue at the beauty of Fernie, nestled in the British Canadian Rockies, the beauty of the area is outstanding. The waterslide is a great addition, my five year old was a little too young to really want to be adventurous, but my seven-year-old wanted to do nothing other than go on that time and time again. The main reason for the three star rating is that the resort is starting to get more and more rundown. We stayed in the family suite on the top floor. Room is OK, not an ideal set up from a sweet standpoint, as it’s open concept, but we knew that, and it was OK. numerous spots, the where deferred maintenance is really starting to show. Whether it was screws, popping out of drywall, pieces of trim that were coming off the walls or ceiling, or gouges/repairs needed. The straw that broke the camels back for me on this trip was the fact that the stairs are not all the same size going up to the king, size bed upstairs in the room, and coming down the next morning, I fell from the top, resulting in a pretty banged up knee, and slamming my face against the wall. While I’m glad I didn’t damage the room any further, my jacked up neck, knee, and back are pretty cranky right now. Things like that are a safety issue and should be addressed ASAP.…

We stayed at the Stanford over the weekend as it was close to Fernie alpine resort. The front desk staff was kind and efficient as we checked in. The room experience in the main building was interesting: - the heater was left on high so when we walked in and it felt like a sauna. - The cleaning staff never clean the mirror properly, so the previous guests of the room wrote notes all over the mirror which were seen when the shower was on. - The beds were very firm and not that great to sleep on. - The neighbours above us were very loud. - Our room was next to the staircase, and it sounded like elephants were using it throughout our stay. When I arranges for a wake up call, and the first morning it was delayed by 10 minutes and when I requested it for the second morning, the front desk staff told me that they did not offer wake up calls. When I told them that the previous attendant offered it, he apparently agreed to it. Again the next morning, the wake up call was delayed. As for the breakfast in the morning, it was basic. Muffins, pre-wrapped bread, yogurt, oranges, cereal and a waffle making station. The waffle mix tasted like stale sawdust mixed with glue. Just skip it. They have a tandoori restaurant attached to the hotel and the food was quite good. But when we arrived on Friday, there was only about 10 people in there and our meal took over 40 minutes to arrive. When I had inquired about our meal, the server or manager said “you didn’t tell me you needed your food sooner.” Which I replied that it’s crazy to think I had to let them know I was hungry. The experience was mediocre overall and I am unsure on whether or not I would stay here again.…
