This nearly century-old house has been magnificently updated in chic, contemporary fashion. Francine has amazing interior design skills; this is one of the most stunning, stylish B&B’s we have ever been to. We stayed for two nights in the Superior king-bedded room (Number 1) and it was spacious, quiet, and comfortable (including air conditioning). The free wi-fi worked great, too.

Breakfasts, served between 7:30 and 8:30 (your choice of time) were delicious and beautifully presented. The French toast, accompanied by a skewer of fresh strawberries and pineapple, was the best we have ever had. The Eggs Benedict were excellent, too. An impressive variety of specialty coffee drinks, as well as juice, are also available.

The B&B is licensed to serve alcohol, and we really enjoyed sitting on the expansive front porch, relaxing with the drinks that Andre brought to us. Andre, a surgeon by day, is a charming host and excellent conversationalist. Be sure to check out his fabulous sculptures in the sitting room. Francine and Andre are both consummate hosts, eager to make your stay the best it can possibly be. They provided maps, offered spot-on dining recommendations, and made sightseeing suggestions we would never have been aware of on our own.

From reading other reviews, it sounds like many people use this B&B as a stopover for one night as they travel from one province to another. We think people should also consider it as a base for a longer stay, as well. We found a number of interesting things to do in Edmundston: the antique auto museum; the botanical garden; the Petit-Sault Brewery; the Railroad Interpretation Center with its model railway layout; the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (if you are fortunate enough to get a tour here with Francois, you will never forget it); the walk around and across the river. I wish we had actually had more time here to explore some of the surrounding area.

This was our 16th over night stay in a B&B for this trip to the maritimes. Auberge Aucoin has only been open about a month now but this was easily our favourite stay. Rooms, beautiful; people, wonderful; food, delicious. This will be a destination for all our future trips out east.

Extraordinary! Beautiful rooms, very welcoming hosts, excellent breakfasts with homemade bread and jams and little touches and changes everyday. The Auberge is perfectly placed in Edmundston, with everything within easy walking distance. The rooms are quiet and extremely comfortable. Comfort and class that we don't find often.

The moment you walk in the reception, you'll know the house is well maintain. The decorations are charming and has a lots of characters. There is a library upstairs. Our room is spacious. The bed is comfortable. Toiletry, towels are neatly place within reach. You can tell the owner has place attention to details. It'll be our stop when we go to east coast in the future.

What an incredible place to stay! It's right in the heart of Edmundston but you feel like you're in a secluded piece of heaven while you're there. The proprietor, Francine, is incredible! We were welcomed warmly, and then shown the common rooms and our guest rooms. Francine made us a deliciously strong cup of coffee that we had in the living area. The furnishings are unique, and have obviously been chosen with great care for comfort, and ambience. Even the window shades are beautiful!

My room (and those of my friends) was luxurious and beautifully appointed. As an example, a large carafe of water was on the desk with two snifters bearing my room number. The bedroom and the bathroom both were spotless and literally gleamed.

I slept soundly in my comfortable bed and the shower had plenty of both hot water and water pressure. The towels and sheets, even the soap, were all superior quality. When I went downstairs, Francine greeted me, and made me a cup of strong, delicious coffee. I had the luxury of drinking it on the shaded, secluded front porch. I could have spent the day there. Instead, I joined the other guests in the dining room for a breakfast that was beautifully presented. It was a plate with a waffle, a variety of fresh fruit, and a delicious dip/spread for the fruit. The table had large containers of maple syrup to go with the waffle.

After our day out, we returned to the B&B and asked Francine for drinks. Her husband Andre, who is their bartender, returned home to make them. He delivered them to us out on the porch along with bowls of chips and nuts. It was a lovely way to spend a happy hour.

Our next morning's breakfast was Eggs Benedict along with a variety of fruit. It was again an excellent breakfast. Before we left, Francine opened her store for us. It was loaded with beautiful clothing, household goods, bags and toiletries. You could find things for men, women and babies. It was a spot I could have left with my wallet empty!

I loved my stay here! Francine, and Andre, have created a comfortable and luxurious atmosphere. I highly recommend staying here!

We stopped in edmunston just to sleep for the night, and left auberge aucoin feeling like we had a weekend getaway. The inn is newly renovated but retains its classical structure. The decor is immaculate with beautiful rooms, library, and dining areas. The hosts are friendly, tentative and excellent cooks. Our breakfast (included) of crepes, yogurt parfait, fresh fruit and home baked treats, would have cost us a pretty penny at a trendy brunch spot. I would recommend this spot to families, couples or single travelers. I was genuinely impressed and if I am back in edmunston i will stay here again and look forward to it. I wish there was a place like this in toronto.

Wow! I am still in awe! I will definitely go again and recommend this little nook to everyone that I know. The modern style and the layout is welcoming. I have never seen anything like this place anywhere else.

My wife and I were traveling through Edmundston on our way to PEI and then the Iles de la Madeleine. When we arrived we were met with two friendly faces - Andre & Francine. Auberge Aucoin is a stately house that is spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and you immediately feel at home. The pictures do not reflect this beautiful home. The crisp beautiful linens on the bed, the comfortable bed and pillows, beautifully decorated spacious rooms and again the cleanliness put you at ease. We went out for dinner and walked the streets and followed a bridge over the river. It was beautiful. We returned to Auberge Aucoin and sat on the porch and shared stories with Andre. The following morning we were treated to a delicious breakfast that was above all standards for a B&B.The coffee was amazing!! We could have easily stayed longer. Francine & Andre were wonderful hosts and went out of their way to ensure our stay was 1st class. Merci!!! If you are in Edmundston for pleasure or business or need a longer stay then my wife and I strongly recommend the Auberge Aucoin.
