CHIMO Refuges tree house resort. unplug and find your space in the forest. Four small cabins and a teepee; clean and equipped to sleep, eat, enjoy nature and relax. An eclectic accommodation experience called Glamping that became popular in Europe a few years ago and has been available in Saint-Sauveur-des-Monts since 2010. Simply show up with your sleeping bag and pillow. Connect to the simple pleasures hidden in nature ... the forest ... a simple meal ... a conversation around a campfire ... a night perched in a tree under the stars. When you wake up, go on an outdoor excursion to the Laurentians. Our philosophy of glamping is a simple one: to share the art of living rooted in respect for the environment and the passion for wood and trees. We have created shelters built with the wood of our land and the know-how of a trade, in order to welcome the visitors in the most pleasant installations. We offer the freedom to walk in our forest to discover the wonderful fauna and

Couldn't have landed on a better location. calm, beautiful, nicely designed, pleasant host. We had booked the Stella house and it was perfect. Our family of three had a blast, would definitely come back.

Only a few minutes drive from Saint Saveur and the local ameneties, yet tucked away in in a hillside and in touch with nature. Keith and Tracy have put together an amazing place, filled with amazing vistas, super cabin experiences, and creating a vacation that will not be forgotten. If you need all the ameneties at your fingertips and luxury living , this is not for you, but if you love the outdoors, or love the idea of a wood burning stove in a tree house, log cabin or even a giant 'Kube' to sleep in, with walking trails, biking trails, cross country ski trails on your doorstep, or just a cozy place to read, then you HAVE to go. Its cabins, glamping, camping, back country all rolled into one COOOOOL place. Definitly going back..

We loved our stay in the Sol! The atmosphere gave us the opportunity to take the time to connect deeper with ourselves and nature. We relaxed but also stayed active by hiking nearby. We highly recommend this stay for everyone.

This is what you would expect from a glamping experience: it is comfortable if you're used to camping, and bare bones if you would prefer a fully equipped chalet. This middle term is exactly what Chimo Refuges delivers. The terrain is steep, especially between the parking spots and the refuges, this is something to consider if anyone on your group has any kind of physical impairment (old age, pregnancy, toddlers, etc.). However, most refuges (with the exception of Kübe and Stella) are very close to the main shelter and shared toilet area. They are uphill but on a relatively flat area, like a tiny village. Once you get there, walking around is easy enough. When we arrived on the site, nobody was at the reception, so I had to call Keith on his phone and wait several minutes until he showed up. Besides that, we had very good service and he tried to accommodate our needs as much as possible - service in French and English. And well-behaved dogs are welcome on leash! It looks like only two refuges have energy, so you may need to make sure you bring your own lamp, besides bedding and pillows. Kids' playground (small adventure park) is very nice for younger children. On the central shelter you will find a fridge, sink, waste baskets (bring your own bags for recyclable and normal garbage) and some old board games. BBQ equipment and folding tables are also available. Near the Tipi there is also equipment for badminton and volleyball. No food or other services are available on the site, but although you feel like being in a secluded forest, you are just a few kilometers away from Saint Sauveur downtown where you can buy any necessary supplies. Overall good experience, would return!

Hi Flavio, Thanks for the great review! I've been so busy that I just noticed it. I would just like to mention to all those who may be concerned with the steep terrain that I often make arrangements to transport people up who have mobility issue, and that's in all season. Thanks again, Keith

If you ever wondered what it be like to be living like the Swiss Family Robinson, or How cool it is to sleep in a real Teepee, this is the place for you. We spent 2 nights in this magical place that is so unlike any experience I have done, its the perfect get away from the horror of the "city life". Get a whole family to take over the site, each of you can have your own "private space", there is a large communal kitchen/lodge for those rainy days where the outdoors make you want to stay inside. Ok, so you have to walk to the Toilette /shower cabin, but...the balance is so great, its worth it. The location in perched on the side of a mountain, stunning views , great walks and quiet like no other place I know. I can hardly wait to go back and bring some friends with me. This is a 4 season experience, I am looking forward to trying 2 more season's.
