Stayed here from June 16 - 19th 2022. Due to an event in town this was the last place available. Ticked all the boxes, all positive. Front end staff reception, housekeeping, cleanliness, personable staff who were very obliging to our needs. The premises appeared to be fresh, clean and always tidy. Well looked after. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed due do staff shortages which seem to be a problem in Peace river. I mislaid a favourite piece of clothing which got left behind, I called the motel a couple of days after I got home and they said they would notify housekeeping. I did't hear anything for a week but then I got a parcel in the mail, my lost scarf!!! (no charge for the postage either.) I would gladly stay here again anytime........James, High River AB

Iffy rooms on cleanliness. Rooms are dated, stains on walls and on chairs. Full kitchens but no microwaves in the room, just one down the hallway. Air conditioning in the room hardly works, room is still uncomfortably warm and it's been on all day. No laundry in the hotel.

Huge room, full-size fridge (but I unplugged due to noise), bumpy king bed. The room was very hot upon arrival. Turning on a/c helped, but slowly. Unit is very small, controls are way down at floor level, but most of all was the very, very loud fan, which could not be turned off by turning the unit off, even if I wanted only "fresh air":. The a/c unit made the room useless, unsleepable. But I knew that even after a hot day (August) that the evening and night air would be cool, almost cold. So I turned a/c off, opened the small windows, and waited until nature cooled the room. I finally got to sleep about 11 PM, and the night's sleep was good. The room was not beautiful but was OK. The location was good. But next time I would spend the extra $20 and go to the Chateau Nova, or (extra $30) Best Western, where a good night's sleep would be assured without hassle.

Our family always stays at this motel. Price is the best in town. We've always had wonderful experience. We have always received great service from the Manager, her front desk staff and the rest of her staff. The restaurant is not part of the motel despite the fact it's right beside the motel. This is the only place my family stays in Peace River! I would recommend this motel to anyone staying in Peace River. I love the double spa tub as well as the king size bed. The full size fridge is great for us especially when we stay for several days at a time. It's handy that there is a grocery store beside the motel. All the major retail stores are just across the road, as well there are fast food places. They have done a lot of upgrades through out the motel. Anyone who is traveling with a pet(s) this is a great place to stay.

Carpet was dirty. Make up of the beds very sloppy. Big black hairs on floor in bathroom. Lighting in room very poor. Non smoking room had very strong smoke smell. But front desk staff helpful and friendly. Good facilities for travellers with fridge and coffee maker in room and laundry on premises. Also close to restaurants and shopping. Breakfast not offered.

I stayed at this quaint little hotel for 1 night while attending a concert in Peace river. The room I was in had a king size bed, a full size fridge, a desk, table, 2 wingback chairs, a coffee table and a fireplace. An excellent deal for under $100. Nice and clean.

Peace River presents two areas for accommodation; downtown or across the river up on the hill as you drive westward from town. By vehicle, they are only a few minutes apart but, I have always preferred a downtown property because walking the main streets is part of the fun of being in Peace River overnight. With no reservations, I was surprised that every downtown property was sold out. Oh well, I crossed the bridge and came upon Western Budget Hotel. This small western Canada chain has twelve properties in central/northern Alberta. All are of the same construction and room layout. I will start with two very, very small complaints. The bed was rock hard and the small bathtub had almost no flat spot to stand when showering. Because it is curved, standing is a challenge. Okay there is a mat but I prefer not to use these. But as I noted, these are small issues. Kind of quirky is the fireplace in every very large room. Yes, they have full size refrigerator/ freezers in each room (nice I suppose if you need to chill or freeze a lot of stuff) but NO microwaves? This in of itself is not troubling but it just seems unusual that something like a fireplace in every room (unusual to say the least), they do not include an appliance that virtually every motel/ hotel offers today? I didn't used my fireplace as it hit 33 degrees today and air conditioning was a must. The rooms are very large and in addition to a small eating table with two chairs, there is a desk working area and two large, very comfy chairs in front if the window beside the fireplace. My surprise was the condition of this property. This motel property is almost twenty years old but the room I was in, looked as though it had just been built! I do not know how they are able to keep their rooms looking so spotless but, I called back to the front desk to confirm the age. Kudos for keeping up the property. I would consider staying here again should I not be able to visit one of my usual downtown properties.

After driving from New Brunswick and sleeping in a van, it was a pleasure to stay here. The bed was comfy and other than a coffee cup hidden behind the TV, was clean and fairly modern. The restaurant had terrific food and Marissa was terrific. Our only complaint is that they do not take cash payments, required a credit card and a large deposit for the 2 nights accommodations. I would stay again, when in Peace River.
