We just recently spent 2 nights at Snug Haven and were not sure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised. The cabin was spotless, well equipped and had a gorgeous view. There are few eating establishments in the area so be prepared to use your kitchen. The kitchen was typical cabin size, but included all of the necessary equipment including a dishwasher and gas barbecue (one per cabin). The washroom included full tub and 2 spray shower. We didn't need the wood stove in August, but there was one as well as normal heaters. The bedrooms were large enough and the beds were comfortable. The facility includes a nice beach area, shallow water gradually getting deep, a grassy area and several picnic tables. Canoes and kayaks are free. Easy boat docking is close by. The resort is family run and take pride in their resort. They were friendly and warm. The local scenery is breathtaking, with a major provincial park (Kilbear) within a 5 minute drive.

We did a brief family getaway at Snug Haven and found it perfectly enjoyable- they have 6 cabins they rent out from huge and spectacular to quaint and rustic. We stayed in Log Cabin which was nicely furnished with a view of the water (which was about 20 steps away) the cabin was really clean with a nice outdoor tables and chairs on a deck. Bring your own sheets and towels.

There is a trailer park on the property and the cabins are fairly close together - but the beach never felt busy and we could grab a canoe or kayak whenever we wanted.

We wanted the Killbear camping experience without the camping part so this place was perfect. A 10 min drive from the park

We visited the resort along with a large group of friends in the month of June 2017.

Firstly, the drive to the cottage was very scenic. There are not much visible signs on the road, so it would be helpful if you try to get to the cottage during day time. The cottages are situated on amongst the rocks and pines of one of the most beautiful inlets along Georgian Bay. Each cottage is designed differently, is spacious, modern, clean and has its own kitchen (dishwashing liquid, sponge, plates, cups, saucers, cutlery, knives, cutting board, toaster, fridge) and a private BBQ to use. Some of the cottages, had a washer/dryer as well. There is a huge parking area outside the rec room which is at the front of all the cottages that has a pool table, a large piano, air hockey table, table tennis and has washrooms too. Kayaks, Canoes and Paddle boats are all complimentary to use. You can use the paddleboats, canoe or kayak to visit the island that is close to the cottage as well. The scenery from the island is extremely beautiful. In the center of all the cottages, there is a small playground as well. Most cottages are overlooking the water and is very pleasant to wake up to that sight every morning.

We had carried our own food and cooked there as well. On 2 of the days that we were there, we also did BBQ.. Since we were a large group, we used to meet up at the rec room for lunches and dinners. During our stay, all cottages were occupied by our group itself and that made it even more cozier as there were no other people in the area.

Cottage season is bug season, so please carry your repellents and you will not have any issues. You will have to carry your own linen, toiletries (bring toilet paper) and towels.

This is a definite must visit and I am pretty sure it will definitely become one of your memorable stays too.

We were just there in September...The islands are certainly still there! But all the close ones had private property signs on them, so I don't think they would like folks swimming off them. There were more islands that looked like you could swim off them a bit further away, but it was too choppy for us to paddle that distance on our visit. We went to Killbear and swam off the rocks there. ta!

Does anyone have any photos of the "log Cabin"? Dynamite, are your photos of the Log Cabin?
