Le Grand Lodge Mont-Tremblant offers a cozy atmosphere, complete with a welcoming lobby fireplace and individualized condo touches, although some guests suggest that parts of the hotel could benefit from a refresh. While the rooms are generally praised for their cleanliness and views, opinions on their size and modernity vary, with some guests feeling updates are necessary. We stayed in the Sunset Suite, which has a king size bed, two washrooms, fire place, kitchen, and a sunset view from the terrace. There is free wi-fi, a card key is used, and soap and shampoo are provided, but not hand cream. We found it difficult to control the room temperature at a comfortable setting because when left the A/C on, it got to cold and settled on shutting it on and off. There is a pool, and a private beach on the lake. The service was good and the staff was friendly. There is no daily maid service and we had to ask at the front desk for additional coffee packetts. This is not a modern hotel. Even though the official time the pool opens was 10 am, they opened it at 9 am when I asked. You park in an unpaved lot across the street from the main entrance, and the lot has many pot holes in it.

The hotel has many amenities to offer for families with children. Pool is decent sized, and they do a daily "cookie and hot chocolate" hour from 4-5pm in the winter. My only complaint is that I spent ~$1000 more on a 2 bedroom (we are a family of six) when I really didn't have to, as I wanted the extra living space. Well, turns out the 2 bedroom has a very small living area, and our friends regular and cheaper suite had ample more room (kitchen and living areas). Bottom line - do not spend more money on a 2 bedroom unless you absolutely need a separate room for 2 people. Otherwise go with the regular suites. Our room was the farthest possible from the elevators which was annoying as well, would have been nicer to have lake view closer to reception area. And FYI the elevators shut down from 6-7:30pm daily and overnight.

Hello Stay322459, thank you for taking the time to let us know about the strong points of your stay and your concerns. I would like to start by apologizing for the elevator annoyance but note that it will be soon over since we will finnaly put the second elevator in service later this week, this way, there will always be at least one working elevator at all time. As for the location of your room, I do agree that the two bedroom suites are far from the elevator, but there is only four in our hotel ant they all arel at the end of hallways and as far as yours. For the living space area, two of the two bedroom suites we have are large and i confirm almost twice the living space compared to a regular one bedroom suite and two are "regula size" and have the about the exact same living space as a regular lake view suite. I'm sorry if we where not clear enough on these facts at reservation and I invite you to contact me directly if you have any question or for any future reservation so i can make personnaly sure you get exactly what you expect and at a reasonable price. Best regards Patrick,

old-fashioned charm but at today’s prices! the Vieux Lodge does not offer elevators during check-in hours and at night and at lunchtime. The hotel has 4 floors. We occupied a two bedroom two bathroom suite for two nights. the beds were not changed or made and the towels changed around 3 o'clock in the afternoon and those which were already wet were not spread out. I think we occupied a condo purchased by a private person but that the hotel rents, so minimal service by maids who do not speak French and barely English. Arrive equipped with soap, shampoo, etc. There is a shortage of staff in the dining room.
The beds were however comfortable, the air conditioning was quiet, it's clean but the decoration needs redoing, especially the painting and works of art are horrible. The beach is small but mostly bordered by a busy street and therefore noisy. but the lake is magnificent and the kayaks, pedal boats, paddle boards available and of good quality. so we were fooled into thinking we would find a hotel that we had really appreciated five years ago but we must believe that the pandemic has left its mark. so sad

Beautiful view. Beds were comfortable, even the sofa bed. Breakfast options were generous and kid friendly.
On the other end, hotel is old and in desperate need of renovations. Restaurant quality/price in the evening is a 2.5/5. There is either a shortage of staff, or poor service. We saw 3 lifeguards one day, all chatting in the gym for about 1h30, including their supervisor, and none came around the pool to greet guests, or keep area neat and safe.
Gym equipment is dated and rusty.
Beach service was not available on June 24. No towels, no life jackets, but kayaks available to borrow... We asked the maintenance team who was working nearby, they helped us but didn't have access to the towels. At the minimum they could have put a sign up to inform the guests.
Unfortunately, we won't go back.

Dear 32mariebo, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at Le Grand Lodge. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. Your feedback is very important to us, and I am saddened to hear about your experience with the life guards ( at the pool or the beach its the same staff). Please rest assured that they did a lot better then their first day ( the 24th was their first day of work). Here at The Grand Lodge, we continuously strive to meet your needs and expectations. We appreciate the time you took to share your concerns. Best regards, Patrick, Lodging Manager

Very decent hotel which perhaps needs a little rejuvenation. However, it is obvious that the pandemic and the lack of staff have left their mark. Room service is practically non-existent, the elevators do not work at certain times. Beautiful, well-equipped spas but for example we could not have access to the steam bath before 10am. Inflation has also had an impact on restaurant prices. However, as we often make short stays in different places, it must be noted that the context means that our remarks apply to several hotel establishments.

We visited in December, and everything was covered in snow. The service was great, and the room was very spacious with incredibly cozy robes. The hotel offers a shuttle to the ski slopes, and renting ski equipment here is cheaper than in town. I loved that at 5 PM, they served hot chocolate and cookies for guests. The ski storage room had a terrible smell, which could be improved. One evening, we had dinner at the restaurant—good food, but the service was a bit slow.

We stayed in a large suite equipped with a kitchen, two bathrooms, one bedroom and a retractable bed. All this for $400 a night, including taxes and fees, right? However, there is not even a USB socket, no radio, furniture to change, damaged for some.... I have to say, the kitchen is really outdated. At the price we pay, a little investment in renovation or modernization would not be too much. Lots of charm though, nice location and excellent service... but I maintain that the rooms should be modernized while keeping the style and charm that defines this place

We've been to Le Grand Lodge multiple times and always have a good time. For a family of 5 the suites are perfect but could use some tlc/updates. The free shuttle to the mountain for skiing and the skating rink/trails in the woods were great. There were a few things that would have been appreciated, such as complimentary coffee in the lobby in the morning (coffee maker in room was broken), fully functioning elevators, and the free use of hockey sticks for the rink. We paid the $11 to rent skates but $5 to rent a plastic hockey stick seemed a bit unnecessary.

I recently stayed at this hotel and found the overall experience very pleasant. It's an ideal place for those seeking tranquility, and the staff is extremely welcoming and always ready to assist.

However, there are a few areas that could be improved, particularly in the restaurant. I noticed that the staff was preparing omelets by touching the ingredients with their hands without wearing gloves. Additionally, they handled vegetables with their hands, even though spoons were available for this purpose. It was somewhat unpleasant to see nails inside the eggs when they cracked them open to prepare the omelets. This was true for both the dedicated staff and the supervisor, who kindly stepped in to replace a team member without making me wait.

Ensuring that the staff uses gloves when handling food. This would greatly contribute to enhancing the gastronomic experience.

Furthermore, adding background music could create a livelier and more enjoyable ambiance for guests looking to relax by the pool.

This is our second year staying at the Grand Lodge. If you’re coming for the view and access to lake activities, you’re coming to the right place. And if you’re interested in having the Tremblant experience without being in its busy downtown core, this is absolutely the best place to stay. If you have kids, too, this is certainly a great place to enjoy because of proximity to free outdoor activities. It’s a bit pricey for lodging, certainly not the most expensive in the area, however when you take into account how the lodge is faring in the pandemic, you might struggle justifying the cost of staying here when you take note of the many repairs and shortcomings there are in the room experience itself. Some of the lights in rooms didn’t work, including the patio light, the blow dryer was broken, the screen door had a long tear in it and you could see evidence of this across the back of the lodge looking in in other balconies. The key cards needed several turns being re- magnetized which was a nuisance when each time the woman at the front desk acted as though it was some dramatic event that needed someone else to handle. We stayed close to two weeks at the lodge and were told to expect a “hotel room cleaning” every 3 days which is silly because they only ever came twice for a through clean and that’s only because we had to call to ask for the second clean. The lodge is very clear their priority is new guests arriving. When we had to call for our second of the two cleanings we had to explain to the cleaning staff what needed to be done (legitimately had to explain the concept of “clean our room” directly to the woman assigned to do it. She ran after me in the hall asking “but what should I do?” I later learned she was new.) When We returned to the room, it hadn’t been cleaned at all, but towels had been replaced and the bed made up. The lodge made up for this strange error with a 9am knock at the door we weren’t expecting for a cleaning do over. I recommend bringing your own broom because with a beach on site and no guarantee of a regular clean (or even a proper one), you’ll want to have clean floors. At least this was something I thought of after having dealt with the same issues last summer. The lodge is definitely rationing supplies, making it super uncomfortable when we had to call nearly every other night for towels or toilet paper or dish detergent. The staff are prompt at delivering on requests, aside from the woman at the front of the lodge, but it makes you wonder why you’re paying so much for so little inside the hotel. The view and access to activities might be enough to justify the cost of staying here, however after giving the lodge a try two years in a row, I might be looking into different accommodations for next year.
