The Windmill Inn Littleworth is celebrated by many for its value, offering cost-effective accommodations that guests find satisfactory. The cozy rooms with a warm, inviting atmosphere, alongside a historic pub, contribute to a comfortable stay, according to reviewers. While the food and cleanliness receive high marks, with rooms described as spotless, some guests have pointed out the smaller showers and average toiletries.
Though praised for their cleanliness and comfort, a few travelers note the rooms can be prone to noise and maintenance issues. The service at The Windmill Inn is generally regarded as friendly and attentive, despite occasional hiccups and a self-service breakfast.

Detailed Reviews
We were down for a horse show. Found this gem, cracking little pub. We couldn't have food because of the the dreaded pinging problem. But we were informed before hand and offered takeaway menu with us of the pubs facilities. Staff were great really helpful and great with our 16 month old ( who was running round like it was his house)
Cracking atmosphere, with really great locals!
Bedroom was clean and really comfortable. We had a hot shower in the morning, which is rare in most hotels when everyone is leaving at the same time. God continental breakfast with plenty of choice. Will be booking again next year!!

Stayed 3 nights here with my elderly mother. From the booking process and all the way through the stay the staff and owners were fantastic. They happily moved us to a ground floor room which was more accessible and even noticed my mother needed a cushion whilst we were at dinner and provided one without any propmpting. Food iis excellent - we ate in every night as there was no point going any where else after a long day sight seeing and visiting friends. Outside spce is extensive with 2 sovered areas as well. The atmosphere is friendly with plenty of locals. The main part of the pub has several different spaces and the tables are well spread out. COVID protocols are good and the place is micely decorated and very clean. The B&B and food are very good value for money. You are getting a quality hotel and pub-restaurant for everyday pub jprices.
Highly recommend this place.

Stayed with other members of family overnight for a family event locally and we were given a warm welcome. They made a special effort to allow early access to our rooms which were spotless and quirky.
Helpings of food for dinner were enormous, good choice for a Sunday night and very good value.
Great atmosphere in bar and obviously well patronised by locals. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely go back . Ideal location if travelling through Gatwick.

The Windmill Inn is clearly a very old building, so it is rickety, has low beans and many trip hazards. The staircase winds around a centre post and is not easy to negotiate with heavy suitcases. The entire place looks like it could do with a lick of (bright) paint.
Our room, No. 4, was actually two rooms. The one with a double bed in it overlooked a beer garden and so was unappealing due to people sitting, talking and smoking below. Thus, we used the other room with twin beds. The beds were very narrow.
There is no table to place a laptop or to put one's things; no suitcase rack because there is no room for one.
It took many painful bumps on the head for us to remember that the door frame is so low.
The ante room between the bedrooms and the shower room was lit by three, bright in-ceiling lights that were activated by a sensor. This assured that anyone going for a pee in the night is truly awakened by the light and the light is powerful enough to illuminate the bedroom and wake up the other occupant too..
The carpets were soiled and were physically dirty too, which was off-putting. The shower room was small, but the shower enclosure was adequate and the water pressure and temperature were both good. No amenities were provided, however, and there were no hooks to hang towels between uses. I cannot recall the last time I stayed anywhere that failed to provide soap or shampoo.
I was excited to see an upturned tissue holder in a bedroom drawer, but it was empty. Why have it there in that case? Tissues, like soap and shampoo, are not luxuries. They are basic amenities every decent hostelry should provide.
Dinner was good. The Windmill chef is the property's asset. My wife's steak medallion was cooked exactly as she liked it and the chimichurri sauce was perfect. My sausages were good and the gravy was tasty.
Breakfast was self-service with nothing cooked or hot on offer. There was no butter; only a tub or some spreadable alternative that had been used by other guests and was contaminated with traces or jam, marmalade and crumbs running through it. Yuck! I was not going to eat from that tub.
The breakfast area was not clean and the table that had been laid for us was sticky, so breakfast was altogether unappetising. We ended up having cereal, coffee and nothing else.

We popped in for lunch today whilst on a ride of the downs link, really pleased we did. Food was great (hard recommend of the Cajun chicken wrap), they were kind enough to let me use their first aid kit as I had a fall. They also were happy to fill our water bottle and charge ebike batteries which was great

Stayed for one night on a Wednesday, arriving at 1830 we were surprised to see the bar and dining room were pleasantly busy. There was a reason, good quality food, good accommodation (including nicely decorated public areas) and a professional team of workers. Their service with a smile was infectious. We will pop in again when we next visit the folks in Shoreham as it’s not too far off the A24.

+1
This is a very charming Inn. Very picturesque. We were kindly welcomed to enjoy a cup of tea in the garden even though we had arrived way too early for check-in. The food in the dining room was excellent both for dinner and breakfast and there was a nice selection of beers and ciders at the bar. With a stay in the room Continental breakfast is included but cooked breakfast is available by pre-order on the weekends. Worth the price. Our room was cozy and had a nice view of the back garden. The only downside is that being a very old building the floors were uneven so our bed tilted downwards towards the head of the bed and a little to the left. Unfortunately this made for less than comfortable sleep. The shower was also pretty short and I had to bend down to wash my hair.

Uninspiring menu, although they try and cover all bases with general food, burgers and pizzas. Salt pepper squid chewy. Our crispy Chinese 5 spice duck leg with noodles had been over cooked - v tough and dry and barely edible - with too many noodles. The Thai red curry was swimming in sauce and only tepid when served. Do you normally have poppadoms with Thai food? I may be wrong but I suspect that most of the food was bought in and either microwaved or fried rather than being prepared on site. Steak and pizza were declared to be ok.
They need to reduce the size of the menu and concentrate on doing basics well using a skilled chef.
We won’t return especially as there are alternative pubs in the locality serving better food.

We booked the Windmill Inn from a recommendation by the people we were visiting nearby and it was a very convenient location. Food was excellent and the serving staff were very friendly and attentive. The main gripe we had with our room was that it at the top of the building in the roof meaning you had to watch your head when walking in the bedroom. The major issue was because it is an old inn the corridors and stairways are really narrow and difficult to negotiate. When we booked the room it was the last one available and did show a picture of the narrow stairs up to the room but until we actually saw them it is hard to visualise. We are both in our 60's so agility is a problem and trying to carry a case up really narrow stairs was a major challenge. I get that being a very old building with loads of character is a feature but a person with any disabilites would have found it impossible to get up to the room. Toiletries weren't brilliant and the toilet paper was of very poor quality. I know it's not 5* accomodation but little things like the small things can make a big difference. Overall a nice place to stay or eat but be aware if you book a room which one you get.

Our group of 11 walkers arrived at The Windmill after several miles cross country walk. Our table was waiting, and various pre-booked meals where accurately served with no confusion. We'd chosen Baguettes, Ciabattas, Sandwiches and Jacket Potatoes from the Windmill's new menu. The food was beautifully presented with generous portions and good tasting fillings. It's a great pub with log fire and pleasant dining room. Good too, that they've still got a Public Bar. We all agreed the food was excellent The Windmill was worth another visit.
