There are not a lot of choices in Matane, so though the hotel was uninspiring, it worked. Since it was cold and rainy when we checked in, we didn't care about having a "seaview" room, so we took an "executive" room on the 3rd floor, which turned out to be large, comfortable and clean with a king bed, large chair,...

We found the Riotel Matane very attractive and comfortable. The staff was very pleasant. We commented on what a special experience having dinner at the dining room was: The food was excellent, as was the service, and the decor of the dining room and the view were outstanding. I called Bonjourquebec for help with reservations, and, so far, their suggestions...

Only stayed one night on our way around the Gaspe, but will always remember it. Amazing view, with walkout patio doors to deck and beach. Although the weather was rainy and foggy, it did not diminish our experience with being right next to the ocean. The roar of the waves crashing on the beach has got to be one of...

We attended a family reunion at the end of August and this hotel was highly recommended to us by my niece who lives in Matane. After reading some of the comments, however, we were a bit leery of the place but decided to go ahead and we booked a room at the hotel. After a very pleasant drive from Montreal,...

My wife and I toured the Gaspe Peninsula during the month of August and had planned a stop in Matane to see the underwater salmon observatory which I read about online. We enjoyed our stay at the Riotel and the seafood was simply the best. We had lunch at the Table du Captain and picked our own lobsters from their...

Dated , dirty and grossly misrepresented on the web. This hotel was very poor value and in sad need of repair. The location was great but the pool and hot tub are seriously dated and dirty. We paid almost $200 a night, completely not worth it.

My wife, and 2 year old daughter, and I stayed here for 1 night after taking the ferry over from Baie Comeau. I wasn't quite sure what to expect per the varied reviews but we had our most negative night on our 2 week trip. While the lobby is OK, our "upgraded" regular view room felt like an early 80's...

We happened on this hotel by chance. We found it to be average price (about $95 per night with AAA) but very clean and comfortable. It is located right on the coast of the St. Lawrence and has a seafood restaurant next door, which is OK but not great. The rooms were quiet enough, and the beds and linens were...

It is a 3 star hotel and not a 4 star !! The sheets of the bed are too small so you wake up in the middle of the night to make up your bed again; so you pay high but don't sleep well. They don't have enough towels for the hotel so you have to queue at the desk...
