The campground seems to be 3 1/2 distinct areas: the first section is RVs with friendly folks that spend the summer there, second area appears to be short term RV hookups. There’s a nice looking pool (closed now) and common room for activities. Third is the tent area which has a great location by the lake but the spots are laid out in two rows with no trees/vegetation between spots. Lastly is the ‘hut’...the fact that we had a rough night is certainly partly on us. I hadn’t thought to ask if there was a heater when we checked in and the office was closed when we did think of it. We did not bring enough blankets in from our truck so the night was very cold! The mattress was thin and uncomfortable and I’d wished I’d thought to swap it with the upper bunk mattress. The structure is truly a shed about 12x12 with a double-bed bunk, sink, small fridge and table and couch. For a warm summer stay it’s probably a good inexpensive, no frills, pet friendly option. The outhouse between the hut and the tent sites is one I would only use in an emergency. The bathroom/shower area by the RVs and pool was warm, modern and clean. The owner was extremely kind and welcoming. …
The location is very convenient as it is only 4 minutes away from Lunenburg. Everyone around here is friendly, and they hold fun events during weekend and everyone should join them!! the washrooms and campsites are clean and the lake side view at night was gorgeous.
We were a tour group of 24 big rigs, mostly towing cars. Since our other reservation had been cancelled by the city these folks were kind enough to get is all spots. A new family has taken over ownership and management of the place two seasons ago and had completed many improvements, sewers, new washrooms many new sites. The family worked very hard to make sure our stay was pleasant. Last evening we were trying to light a campfire with wood we bought in town that was not dry enough. A season camper named Walt came over with hardwood that solved our problem. Very nice of him
This campsite looks like a junk yard, and that is a compliment. The parking bays are rough, and the place is covered in overturned furniture. The facilities are poor, but the WiFi just about works. We booked from the UK, and I hope that the rest of the sites we booked are better.
I want to say right away that I had a great experience. I've been to many campgrounds in Ontario and Nova Scotia, and I will be honest many of them are not any different from one another. However, this campground really made my weekend by providing great service and fair prices, which is not common. In addition, the site was very clean with very wonderful views. 10 out of 10 would come again. (added by my kids)
