We arrived just prior to check in only to find our room was not quite ready, it was Saturday afternoon and the lovely lady at the front desk explained they had a full turnover that day. We were not in a rush, just starting our vacation (we had flown out of Toronto in the morning) and could wait another hour or 2, after all we were in the beautiful town of Lunenburg! She informed us it was okay to leave the rental in their parking lot and she did give us our keys so we headed straight down the hill to explore.

When we returned our room exceeded our expectations. The hotel had undergone a recent renovation and our room was beautiful. The room was massive and had a full kitchen with mini fridge, sink, cook top, microwave, keurig coffee machine, cook ware and cutlery! Large king bed with built in side tables which contained charging outlets and regular outlets. Huge TV and AC! Washroom was very large but no tub only a step in shower which was fine for us as we are not tub people.

Two things to note, only one small mirror over bathroom vanity and the vanity was quite small, not a lot of counter space but it did have two shelves below the sink. We utilized the large desk in the room to put out our toiletries.

Perfect location for us, we explored the town for the next 2 days and enjoyed the comforts of home in the evening. Plus it is central to everything in the town. Bring your walking shoes, we tracked at least 5 to 7 miles per day!.

Would highly recommend the Lunenburg Arms! Staff were helpful and extremely friendly!

Pleasant hotel, close to everything in Lunenburg.
Being an old building, the bedroom was long and narrow which made it feel cramped with oversized pieces of furniture. Fridge was a bit noisy.
The hotel had a lift which was a bonus for upper floors.
Free Parking across the road from the hotel was helpful.

Century Inn, lovely setting, on one of main streets. Rooms are tired, comfy bed. Room had AC but the bathroom was not great. I cleaned it when I arrived, sink, toilet, tub and smelled as tho it had not been cleaned. Lots of history in the town. Everything is walkable, beware, lots of hills. 5 minute walk to water, beautiful piers, boat watching.

The hotel in convienently located in the centre of town near many of the sights. The room was spacious but very noisy. The furnizure was dated. The trucks arriving all night to make deliveries to the warehouse accross the street are quite disturbing. Heating was not working properly, and there were issues with the electricity. Definately not a 4 star hotel!

Lovely rooms, the loft room in particular has a jacuzzi and a very European style. Staff are pleasant and helpful. You’re one block away from all of the restaurants and gift shops. The hotel took a big hit during Covid and is demolishing their restaurant, but there are plenty of greats places to eat nearby.

I spent 2 nights the Lunenburg Arms in July with my teenage sons.
All of the ladies at the front desk were gracious and helpful. As were the cleaning staff when I requested more pillows and an ironing board.
Our one-bedroom suite was very clean with a full kitchenette. It also had air conditioning units in both rooms. Oddly, it didn’t have a closet, just a coat rack to hang things.
It was quiet and located in a great spot to walk around the entire town.

Central location in a town justifiably designated as a world heritage site. Rooms with a remarkable view of the harbor, well appointed with recent renovation. Amenities consistent with a small and intimate inn rather than hotel. Exceeded expectations. Excellent restaurants close by. Great starting point for a walking tour or to explore the fascinating historical town.

The room was great. The shops looked great. We had a huge window in our room which was great for watching hurricane Lee from.
The second day we had no power from 8 AM till we left the next day at 9 Am. So all shops were closed on day two. We had little food, no coffee, no shower. we just sat there watching the hurricane. we asked for a discount and didn't get one. The hotel in general was ok.

I just want to warn others to be very careful when dealing with this hotel. I booked a room through Expedia and received a confirmation. A day or two later I happened to call them to ask a question, and they could not find my reservation. After many calls to both Expedia and the hotel it turned out that the hotel had sold out of my room type some time AFTER receiving my confirmed reservation from Expedia. They received the booking email from Expedia around 7 pm but didn't look at it until 11:30, and by then they were sold out of the room type, simply didn't enter it into their system and didn't take any further action. I have used Expedia for many bookings all over the world and have never had this problem with a hotel before. Worst of all, no one at the hotel had bothered to notify me or Expedia that the reservation was cancelled. It was simply luck that I called beforehand instead of showing up that day and not having a room. The hotel had a larger room available and I asked them to upgrade me for my trouble, and they refused. I then asked them if they could at least give me a discount on the larger room and after checking with the manager, they refused. The reason they gave was that it was going to be a busy weekend and they knew they could sell that room at full price. There was a festival going on that weekend and most hotels/B&Bs were booked up, so if I hadn't called and found out about the lost reservation, I would have been in a terrible situation that night. I was appalled that they made this type of mistake, did nothing to notify me or Expedia, then would not meet me partway on the price of a larger room since it was their own error. It just seemed like they didn't care in the least and only had their eye on every dollar they would get for the larger room, and were not the least bit concerned about having ignored my confirmed reservation. So if you are OK with this type of service and do choose to book this hotel, I would recommend calling them directly to make sure that you do have a reservation.

My girlfriend and I were guests at Lunenburg Arms in July 2006. First of all - we arrived at 9pm and had we arrived a few moments later - there wouldn't have been anyone at the front desk. They fail to mention in your confirmation email to arrive before 9pm or there will be no one available to check you in. Since they are billing themself as a hotel it is only natural to assume that there is someone on duty ALL NIGHT. If this is not the case, it should be noted before guests arrive. Second, we made our reservation last February which was a full 5 months before our arrival and we STILL managed to be put into room 202 right off the lobby and right beside the conference centre. Why there is even a guest room there was beyond us. The front desk clerk failed to give us proper directions to the room, we assumed at first it was on the 2nd floor and after 2 attempts at going up in the elevator - we were told "oops" and were pointed in the right direction. She was in too much of a rush to leave to check us in properly. We appreciated the double doors that protect room 202 from the lobby but were disgusted to find it opened to the world when we exited our room the next morning with absolutely no respect to us the guests that. We could hear the luggage carts going by and the talking going on in the conference room next door. The conference room has a room number so when we checked in we thought it was just another unfortunately positioned room. But we were wrong the next morning. Why would they put a conference centre right next to a guest room? Third, after we checked in my girlfriend noticed that we did not have any amenities like shampoo and conditioner etc that other hotels offer. We do not bring any of these suppiles with us because we assume the high quality of our accomodations will take care of this. When my girlfriend brought this to the attention of the front desk clerk she second guessed her and then rudely went on to tell her that she won't be getting Aveda products. As I recall, she never asked for Aveda products, just some shampoo and conditioner. Because of the above we decided to cut short our stay in Lunenburg. When we told the front desk clerk the next morning that we wished to check out early (we thankfully were not charged extra) we were not even asked why. What kind of hotel, when a guest asks to leave early, does not inquire if everything is oK? Stay at your own risk - very cold feeling and no breakfast served. They did recommend a place in town but it was awful. Don NOT stay in room 202!

The hotel itself is casual. However, my husband and I changed clothes for dinner - more casual chic if you will - by the way, the restaurant on site is wonderful!! Hope this helps.
