The Bluenose Lodge is situated in an historic house; the interior is decorated beautifully in a modern yet traditional style that reflects and harmonizes with its history. The rooms are super-clean and very comfortable and quiet. The price of the room includes a fabulous breakfast, which on Sunday is a decadent brunch, which is an event in itself (think eggs benedict over lobster...). Guests can order anything on the very interesting menu. The wonderful atmosphere of the Lodge added to our enjoyment of our visit. The owner Mark was very welcoming. While the lodge is not in the historic town center, it is only a 5 minute walk away and is thus removed from the hubbub of the tourist area.

After a 65km cycling ride, and not a lot of energy left, my sister and I walked into the dining room at Bluenose Lodge...and we were whisked back in time. What a stunning dining room, filled with luscious greenery and a design theme to make you feel you were part of the in-crowd during the Great Gatsby Era! We were shown to our table by a charming hostess. The service was excellent, the food even better and the new owner was quietly greeting diners at every table and sharing his story and his dream for Bluenose Lodge. If you are traveling in the Lunenburg area, it is well worth your while to stop and dine at Bluenose Lodge.

Recently (Oct 2021) stood in a wedding whose reception was held at the Bluenose Lodge. From the first moment of being in touch with them, the Lodge was fantastic. They were extremely accomodating to every need and provided us with every amenity possible.
The dinner itself was a 10/10 with the owner and his team being extremely professional and attentive throughout.
Could not recommend more!

The Bluenose lodge is a charming little hotel, full of atmosphere and a sense of history. We stayed for two nights, and ate at the hotel each evening. Dinners and breakfasts were excellent, well prepared, and nicely served. The Bluenose is good value and Mark, the owner is very welcoming and personable. We recommend tne Bluenose and would stay here again.

We had high expectations having enjoyed Chef Konrad's food before. Sadly this meal was not good. The mussels were sandy and there were pieces of shell in the broth. The broth was okay. But just okay. They were also cold. One starter arrived about 20 minutes after the first-- those mussels. The mains came together and were also okay but again, just okay. Our server seemed very inexperienced but was very nice. Her slowness and forgetfulness was forgivable for that reason. But the food? No. Those mussels never should have left the kitchen. The prices are simply too high for what we had.

I had the recent privilege of staying at the Bluenose Lodge for a long weekend with dear friends. The food in the dining room was beyond exceptional and the new owner, Mark Trask, has done wonders in reinvigorating the Inn and instilling a comfortable and welcoming environment. Can’t wait to go back!

We decided to try again. There are many good reviews of this place so we thought now that Chef Konrad has settled in maybe things had improved. Sadly, No. The food was not good. The prime rib was ordered medium rare. It came well done and unseasoned and the serving was small. They had no table bread. The tiny yorkshire pudding was hard. I believe it was purchased frozen and reheated. The gravy tasted canned. The half lobster from this surf and turf was cold and overcooked and had clearly been sitting around awhile. Scallops were tasty but gritty. We came to that sad conclusion that this chef just is not a good cook. Way way too pricey for this bad meal. Last chance Bluenose Lodge.

Lunenburg was our last stop on a tour of Nova Scotia’s eastern shore. My husband always makes it a point to end our trips with the most memorable experience. This trip end was no disappointment. The Bluenose Lodge was fabulous. The owner, Mark and the concierge, Caleb were excellent hosts.

Our queen deluxe room on the 3rd floor was well appointed and very comfortable. Had all of the amenities we’d expect.

We had breakfast at the hotel each morning. The menu selection was top notch and met both of our dietary preferences (vegan and omnivore). Both the service and the food were excellent.

We highly recommend this place for a quiet and peaceful retreat.

Our daughter, granddaughter, my husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Lodge. Our accommodations were very comfortable and quiet. The biggest treat were the two excellent breakfasts we enjoyed in lovely surroundings. We were given excellent recommendations to visit The Ovens which are located near the town as well as to take the Haunted Ghost Tour which we found to be interesting and informative.
We would highly recommend The Bluenose Lodge if you are making a trip to Lunenburg. You won’t be disappointed.
