We loved our stay here; the rooms were delightfully decorated, spacious and warm. The location is perfect, walkable to most everything one would want to see in Lunenburg. The staff were super friendly and the breakfast very good. The added bonus was being able to see the ocean. Highly recommended.

We spent 2 weeks traveling through Nova Scotia, starting with Lunenburg. I happened upon a b&b called Addington Arms, that was not listed with many of the websites. Felt we were taking a chance, but the pictures on their website were so beautiful, and the rates were very reasonable. What a wonderful place!! Beautiful suites, with many amenities, incredable breakfasts each morning, delightful hosts, and located right in the middle of town, making it easy to walk anywhere. We would definately go back here and recommend it to all.

My wife and I were amazed with this B&B gem we found in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. There are so many B&Bs in this small fishing heritage town, so it’s difficult to find the right one, but without a doubt we chose wisely. This was our third trip to Lunenburg in 5 years and no other B&B comes close to this place – it’s absolutely “the best B&B”. We stayed in the Heritage Suite for three nights and loved every moment we had in the room. A queen size bed, soft linens, beautiful décor, large bathroom with steam shower and view of the main harbor (we could see the main mast of the famous schooner, Blue Nose from our bedroom window) the Addington Arms has it all and much, much more. Dan and Christine our hosts and owners of the B&B were the nicest people too and helped us plan our day in and around Lunenburg. In regards to the breakfasts, Dan worked as a French chef in Toronto for years and I’m happy that he didn’t quit his day job. The breakfasts were absolutely incredible – freshly baked blueberry muffins, Chris’s famous baked beans made with Quebec maple syrup, rich egg omelets (made with truffle oil from France), smoked Nova Scotia ham, bottomless coffee cups and variety of juices. Breakfasts were a religious experience for us. The rates are no different from any other B&B in town, so why would you stay any where else than the Addington Arms. We plan to come back again and again and again…

We stayed two nights at the Addington Arms as part of our honeymoon, and I thought that the Addington Arms was the best place we stayed at the entire road trip. Prior to staying at the Addington Arms, we stayed at the Fairmont Copley (Boston) and Fairmont Algonquin (St Andrews), which although were nice, did not compare to our experience at the Addington Arms B&B. We will definitely come back!

Reasons why we'll return:
- Super friendly hosts. Chris is a really interesting person to talk to and steered us to all the "must-see" sites and "must-eat" restaurants nearby.
- Central location. Sites are easily walkable from B&B.
- Large, well appointed rooms. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms on the 2nd level, but it was four times the size of a standard hotel room, contained a sitting area and mini fridge, and had an aromatherapy shower which was the perfect cap to a long day
- Breakfast. Hearty and delicious - Dan was a former Executive Chef at a restaurant in Toronto and it shows
- Price. Very reasonable given level of service and quality received.

My husband and I just returned from a fabulous long weekend in
Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. We booked a three night stay at the Addington
Arms based on the pictures on their web site and the Trip Advisor
comments from other guests. We were not disappointed, but over the moon thrilled with what we found. Our room (The Top Sail) was spacious,
Buckingham Palace clean, and beautifully decorated. The bed and linens
are top quality and we had three restful sleeps in the Queen Size bed.
The bathroom may have been my favourite room. Not your typical B&B
bathroom. It is large, modern, clean and equipped with a two person
steam shower. The bathroom towels were top quality too. We also had our
own living area - with a fold out leather couch, chairs, coffee table
and television. A great room to curl up with a good book and stare out
the window and look at the harbour.

Each breakfast was amazing and no plate left the dining room with a speck
of food left on them. Highlights of the meals were smoked salmon and
eggs, freshly baked cinnamon buns, home made baked beans, Nova Scotia, ham, yogurt with wild blueberries, five types of juices and coffee.

Our hosts Dan and Chris really made us feel at home. They helped us plan our days and recommended one of the best French restaurants outside of
France. The owner and chef of the restaurant worked at a three Michelin
Star restaurant in France. It is a two minute walk from the house, so we
were able to leave our car at the B&B and order an extra bottle of wine
at dinner. Chris arranged a table outside for us in the restaurant's
private garden. It was an ideal weekend. We can't wait to return and
recommend this place to everyone. This is without a doubt the best B&B.

Just stayed at the Addington Arms... Wow! The reviews and the pictures do not do justice to this B&B. A wonderful B&B smack in the middle of Old Lunenburg. Our room was nicer than any room at the Ritz. This is how to run and operate a B&B. Our bedroom was large, spotless and had beautiful furnishings - loved the steam shower in the mornings. The bedroom also had a seperate sitting room with tv (with cable), vcr and large leather couch. Nice having a mini-fridge in the room for storing cold drinks. Breakfasts were fabulous and plentiful and prepared by the owner Dan. "Thanks Dan". Chris the other owner was helpful in getting us reservations at some of the better restaurants in town that we wouldn't have found without her help. We'll be back!!!

Lunenburg is one of our favourite places in Canada and we return again and again for the beauty, good food, and the Bluenose. This year we stayed at the Addington Arms for the second time, having discovered it last year, and it truly felt like coming home. Chris and Dan are wonderful hosts, and welcomed us back like old friends; they are well-informed about local attractions and little-known side trips and happy to share their information in a non-intrusive way. Our room was very spacious and comfortable, with a great view of the Lunenburg waterfront. The sound therapy is a lovely, novel touch, adding to the peacefulness and relaxation. And the breakfasts - oh the breakfasts! We always stay at B&Bs when we travel and these breakfasts are tops in terms of taste, fresh ingredients, attractive presentation. Then there is Beaudy, Chris and Dan's dog, who makes guests feel as welcome as they do! I recommend the Addington Arms enthusiastically; I know we will return again and again.

What a great place to launch your Lunenburg experience from! You get to stay in the heart of old town in one of those historic homes! How Cool is THAT! We were less than perfect guests, arriving a little late and having to ask for help with some poorly timed business on our part. But all of these challenges were handled with class and patience and kindness by Chris and Dan. Not to say that the food in Lunenburg is poor - IT IS NOT - But Dan's breakfasts were often our best meal of the day - he is THAT good. Chris is magical - knowing when to appear (always with a smile), and when to disappear (so classy). They do such a wonderful job I have recommended them to ALL my family and friends. You GOTTA GO!!

We were greeted with hugs and enthusiasm as we were shown to our spectacular room, the Jib Room. It was very large, with comfortable chairs, a wonderful steam bath and a gorgeous bed with beautiful linens. The delicious breakfast, with fresh local ingredients, was served in a very lovely dining room at a large table where the guests could visit and share stories of their travels. Chris and Dan were always available to make suggestions, draw maps for you, and then we felt like we really didn't want to leave!
Linda and Phil Allen from Georgia will definately be back!

The other reviews are accurate - this is a lovely B & B with wonderful hosts, great rooms (our suite was two big rooms plus a big bathroom), stunning views of town and harbor, and good food.
What I wanted to add was that we came on a cold, windy and rainy night in October. The wind howled outside, but inside we were nice and cozy. This is remarkable considering Addington B & B is such an old building. Ceiling fans and individual thermostats in each room allowed us to find exactly the right temperature inside. Wind and rain is so nice to listen to when you don't have to actually suffer from the conditions!
