We stayed at the Rum Runner one night during peak season. It was a nice spacious room in an excellent location. The room was clean and well appointed. Parking wasn't a problem. The one thing that stood out was the enthusiastic greeting that we got from the young lady at check in. From that point on she would always greet us with a big smile. When we had questions, she gave us good advice and went out of her way to make good suggestions. The room was nice, the service was wonderful!

Our first day of holiday ended at the Rum Runner . We had the top room with a great view of the water . Our key ,and name was clearly indicated on an envelope near the front door and we easily self checked in . The phone in our room rang 5 minutes later with the owner apologizing for not being there to check us in - very impressive . Excellent location near everything . Yes , slightly dated but very clean room and we really enjoyed the room as well as stepping onto the (shared) patio with it’s view of the water . Woke up to a beautiful misty morning over the water and had coffee on the deck . Had some nice chats with the very nice and hospitable owner . We would go back .

Best location in the heart of Lunenburg which was quite charming to visit. Check-in and out were easy and though no dedicated parking there was no problem finding close spots on the streets. Bedding, room and amenities were sufficient and though a continental breakfast basket as part of the stay would have put the icing on the cake, several shops nearby offered fare to start the day.

The hotel was spotless, room was incredible and spacious. The view was spectacular overlooking the harbour with the tall ships being in as well. Room was quiet and had a great night's sleep. Close to everything being downtown. Staff was friendly and inviting. Will most definitely being staying there during my next trip.

Easy to find and in a great central location with a beautiful view of the water front action from a shared balcony. Beautiful flowers outside the colourfully painted building. Our bright clean room was on the main floor, and was a very good size with table and chairs and fridge and coffee maker. The king size bed was very comfortable. Both bedside lamps had 2 USB connections for charging phones/watches although only one of the connections worked on the right side of the bed. The bathroom appeared newly tiled. My only complaint is that the tub did not drain well when having a shower and the shower curtain wouldn't stay in place to prevent the water from leaving the shower area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely return.

The Rum Runner was just wonderful! If we return to Lunenburg, we would stay here again. Very clean and comfortable. We stayed in the Oceanfront Honeymoon King Room. The view was of the harbor. Lovely! Parking is the only issue. Most of Lunenburg is metered street parking. Some side streets have free parking. From 5:00 PM until 10:00 AM, the metered spots are free. If you are willing to move your car a couple times, you can score free parking.

We had a great stay. Lunenburg is a quaint and small town, and the hotel is ideally located within a very short walk of everything in the center, including the Bluenose. We also took a slightly longer walk to the other side of the harbor (to Lightship Brewery), which was well worth it. The hotel itself is charming and quaint. Our room was in the side building, adjacent to the main building where check-in took place. The room was VERY spacious and immaculate. It was also comfortable, with nice air conditioning. Our view was nice overlooking the harbor, but it seems that the rooms further west of us might have had better/less-obstructed views. Lots of good things here. Several good restaurants close by, three bookshops, and a few cute shops. The Fisheries Museum is behind the inn. The innkeepers are very nice and helpful and the location of the inn is perfect. Walking distance to almost everywhere . . . except to your car, lol. I suppose it is true that folks park on the street here, but even a marked drop off area would have been so helpful. It was raining when we arrived at mid-day, and we couldn't find any street parking nearby. We ended up about 4 blocks away (and keep in mind that Lunenburg's streets slope down rather steeply to the water). My advice is to plan on arriving early or after the stores close and you'll be able to park on the closest side streets without metered parking. When you're ready to check…

I had to cancel my one night stay for August 17 on August 2 because we had to cancel our vacation to Nova Scotia. My husband was going in for back surgery. They charged us the full night any way. Would not recommend using them to anyone.

Hello Virginia, There has been a mis-communication. You booked through Expedia, meaning your reservation was non-refundable. Expedia contacted us on your behalf on August 2nd at 10:00 pm Atlantic Standard Time. We responded to Expedia approving a full refund on August 3rd as soon as we got into the office. Refunds take 5-8 business days to process. Expedia should have contacted you informing you that we had refunded you for the full amount on August 3rd. We unfortunately have no control over when Expedia contacts people.
