The Rum Runner Inn is conveniently located on Lunenburg ‘s main street and is surrounded by good restaurants and shops. There is a great veranda of the back of the building, that overlooks the harbor. It was very clean and comfortable, and Tim is a gracious host. They don’t serve breakfast, but there’s a good coffeehouse called No. 9 right down the street.

Stayed here for a couple of nights. We chose the inn for its location and it served us well. Lots to see and do near by with some great restaurants within walking distance. The view was lovely though the decking area a little tired. The room appeared to be clean but the carpet made our feet dirty! The bathroom was small and the door did not close properly. No on site parking although this did not cause an issue. I left feeling a bit disappointed and did not feel the inn provided value for money.

Easy to find and in a great central location with a beautiful view of the water front action from a shared balcony. Beautiful flowers outside the colourfully painted building. Our bright clean room was on the main floor, and was a very good size with table and chairs and fridge and coffee maker. The king size bed was very comfortable. Both bedside lamps had 2 USB connections for charging phones/watches although only one of the connections worked on the right side of the bed. The bathroom appeared newly tiled. My only complaint is that the tub did not drain well when having a shower and the shower curtain wouldn't stay in place to prevent the water from leaving the shower area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely return.

Our nieces husband recommended the Rum Runner as we were headed on a trip through Nova Scotia. We called immediately & got the last room! That was such good fortune for us! The room was at the front of the Inn, but it was quiet & we slept well on our cozy king size bed. Everything had been cleaned well & polished. The reception was warm & welcoming, and it felt like coming home. We met Tim as we sat with a coffee on the screened in porch facing the water. He explained that there was a festival similar to Oktoberfest the next night. Lunenburg is a treat for the senses. I could not imagine another visit without staying at the Rum Runner Inn. A delightful experience. Thank you.

This was a wonderful experience. The room was spotless, the bed was comfy, and our patio overlooked the bustling harbor. Mr. Lekhi is an exceptionally gracious host, seeing that our needs were met. We would definitely stay at the Rum Runner Inn in Lunenburg.

The check in was very easy and the owner is a lovely jovial man. Our room was #18 which was in the building next door. It had 1 flight of stairs so if you have very heavy luggage, you can always book one of the main floor suites or pack a smaller bag for quick stays. Our room was beautifully updated with vaulted ceilings and so clean. Our room had a very comfortable bed and a skylight that overlooked the docks. We could see all the boats in the Harbour. The location is fantastic and walking distance to everything. The parking is on the street and we got lucky a few times with parking outside the Inn. Only 2 suggestions for the owner, a counter/bar where the skylight is so you can have your drinks or food to sit upon and a hair dryer as there is so much storage in the bathroom. If you are staying in Lunenburg, this is the place to stay. I highly recommend it!

We had a beautiful view of Lunenburg Harbour in this great upper level King Size room with attached closed in sunroom. Tim was an excellent host and very accommodating. We’ll def be back when the season opens again to also enjoy his restaurant! Great breakfast at The Savvy Sailor too!

We stayed for two nights at Rum Runners and would definitely stay again. It's located right in the heart of where you want to be in Lunenburg ....... on the waterfront. Of course during this time of Covid restrictions the restaurant was not operating and I was disappointed at discovering this as I heard it was very good and was looking forward to dining there. Our second night there it poured rain which didn't impact our vacation. The only negative was that our patio door leaked. However when it was reported to management, a staff member responded immediately. Don't expect a modern facility, however if you want to spend some time in a beautiful maritime setting, experience a stay in an historic old Inn with character, a very comfortable bed, and exceptional view of the Lunenburg Harbour reserve a room at Rum Runner Inn. PS the bathrooms are compact .

stayed over for one night on 28 June 2022. Spotlessly clean accommodation with a great view over the bay, from our partially enclosed balcony. Bed was large and very comfortable, with the only problem being the noisy air conditioning fan that refused to be turned off. Bathroom was of adequate size to cater for shower, basin and toilet. A good ground coffee machine in the room but with only coffee mate for whitening. Didn't eat in the hotel so cannot comment on quality. Hotelier Tim, was very friendly and welcoming when we arrived and seemed to like to go out of his way to accommodate ones needs. even looking after our overnight bag while we toured the town the following day, until our departure from Lunenburg.

Was outstanding. First, I thought I was going to have trouble parking, we got there in the afternoon and there was no parking on the street but the receptionist saved us a spot. You know the owner and staff use their vehicles to save places for the guests to be able to park near the inn. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. She gave us our key, offered to give us a hand with our bags, showed us to our door, and when we asked where to eat, because their kitchen is under renovations, she gave us recommendations and directions. There is like a dozen restaurants all within walking distance. The room we had was really nice. It was nice, clean and spotless. It had a walk out veranda with the view of the harbor and Bluenose 2. After we put our bags in our room and decided where to eat, we decided to check out the town and we ran into the owner on our way out. He was very welcoming. Tim was such a delight, he gave us some suggestions for some things to do while in town. He was right that was fun, a horse n buggy ride around town was a fun way to see the town. We were there a couple of days, so we ventured around town and a couple of places nearby that Tim told us about. He probably heard the same stories a hundred times but sat and listened to my husband and I as we told him where we went and what we saw. He spoke to us like we were an old friend or relative. And the staff was very friendly and helpful during our stay. I would recommend staying here and I cant wait to go back.

It is true what the other answers say, street parking is right outside our door, and we do our best to ensure there is always parking available for our guests. After 5:00pm the parking meters are free, and during the day if you are parked, we will of take care of the meters and any charges that may occur so you can enjoy your vacation!
