An open plan RV site within easy reach of the beautiful town and Supermarket (Foodstore) both 5 min walk away. Coffee shop at No9 on Montague Street. Catch the buck a shuck offer between 3 and 5 at Lunenburg Shipwrights, great local oysters and wine.
Loads of hot water in the showers that do tend to over flow into the shower room……bring your flip flops.

First stop on our trip and had mixed reviews. The place is ideally located for access to the town, 5 min walk. Facilities clean and loads of hot water. The showers need better drainage as they overflow into the shower cubical. Great location 👍

This campground served its purpose. We needed a place to sleep. We stayed for 2 nights in June. We decided to book 1 night to start. The camp site we were given was muddy. No store. They did not sell anything: no firewood, no ice. Nothing. To walk down to Lunenburg was down and back up a very steep. Easily done when you’re not 82. We stayed another night but we had to move to another spot. There is no privacy between the sites. Just trees at the back. Washrooms and showers were clean. The dumping station was built so the pipe/ hole that you put your waste pipe into was high out of the ground. Very messy to use. My husband was soaked by the time he was done. Had to have a shower and tun a load of laundry before we left. It is a good location to the town - just be prepared to hike up and down steep terrain.

The reception was so unfriendly, we haven't experienced anything like that in 6 weeks in Canada. The campsite is ugly, narrow and not a tree or bush. To top it all off, we were assigned a spot right next to the dump station. All of this for the expensive price of 69 CAN $, and the wifi only works sometimes with a lot of patience and luck. We cannot recommend this place

The location is great, and the staff tried hard and were very nice, but they are working with their hands tied. The construction/layout of the park is very poor. Some people with big motorhomes had their back ends hanging over into other people's spots, the utilities are on the right side of your trailer, most of the sewage drains are broken so you can't get a good seal and therefore can smell when your neighbours are dumping, the sites are confusing (3 of us, all strangers were setting up at the same time and had to get a staff member come and explain that we park our rig on one site and park our tow vehicle on another....) and be careful if you choose a site downwind from the garbage/compost/recycling/washrooms- yikes! The smell! Finally, bring a lot of levelling devices - we saw a motorhome so jacked up to be level that the front TWO tires were OFF THE GROUND. Literally hovering in the air. That seems a little extreme to me. However, if you're only going to be 'home' to sleep, and don't intend on sitting out (no fire pits), it will do for a few days. The location is awesome for touring the beautiful south shore - its just too bad the campground wasn't built properly to begin with.

Facilities (electricity, water, sewer) are not easily accessible. You need to have larger than normal hoses. We had difficulty finding land that was suitable for our facilities. The connections are not in the right direction and we were not the only ones to have this comment. We would expect much better for a municipal campsite. Other than it being close to things to do and see, that's the only advantage. The staff would benefit from adding a little smile to their attitude. Sorry!

Actually a 3.5 because the location is 10 minute walkable into the heart of Lunenburg. We parked in the upper lot - it is just a gravel lot, but clean and good space between rv’s. Very quiet safe area and a pretty little historic park abuts it.
Didn’t use them, but showers and toilets looked clean - but they are tight and Sani-can style.
This is a good basic campground for 1-3 nights.
We would stay here again.

We stayed at Lunenburg Campground for two nights. What a great location. You can walk to the beautiful town of Lunenburg. Everything is walking distance, grocery store, restaurants and shops. The view from the campground is amazing.

We stayed here one night. The best feature about this campground is its proximity to Lunenburg..We walked down the hill to the historic area which was lovely. The campground itself is quite basic.
Our site was in the upper level with a nice view of the water. We parked on gravel, but stepped up to a grassy area with a picnic table. There was no fire ring at our site, but we noticed other campers had fires. Sites are small and close. Luckily we had wonderful, friendly neighbors. There is a visitors' center at check-in where you can find information and brochures about not only Lunenburg, but other areas of Nova Scotia.
The biggest downside of this campground is the washrooms. They needed more attention. Trash bins were overflowing. Showers and toilet stalls were quite small. My husband was so dismayed that he did not use the shower. He said the urinal did not flush.
This campsite was fine for one night.

My family stayed at the campground last week for one night and my sister and her husband returned a day later for a second night. The location is excellent. Before you arrive get a Lunenburg map and it shows an easy route to get to the campground so that you avoid the narrow streets of downtown with your camper.

This is a very old and historic town, everything is old and preserved. Know that and understand it. Before I went I read some poor reviews. Don't be put off by those reviews. This is a simple campground and the facilities are small but they are fine for short visits. The staff kept them cleaned up, the spaces were fine and easy to get in and out of. The awesome perk of this campground is the large parking area adjacent to the campground and office. We were allowed to park there free of charge for the day after we had checked out. People!!! Nobody gives you parking for free in a tourist area but you will get it here from the very accommodating staff. It is an easy walk to town or a very short drive if you want to take your car or truck.

The campground was full when we stayed and I didn't hear any complaints. We were up early and had no problem getting a quick shower. Bathroom space is tight but it works if you respect your fellow campers :)

I highly recommend that you book a tour with Lunenburg Walking Tours....awesome way to learn about the town and enjoy and enhance your visit.
