Stayed here Thurs-Saturday. Stayed in 3rd Floor Superior Lake View room, beautiful view, and spacious room. The property has 4 pools and a beach. Spent most of our time at the beach with the kids. Was not crowded and family friendly which was a plus for us. They offer use of kayaks and canoe's and boat rentals. I didn't leverage...

My partner and I visited Taboo based on the reputation that the resort was a luxury getaway. While the room (in the hotel portion) was modern, well appointed, very clean, had a great view of the lake, most experiences outside of the room were disappointing. We initially intended on only staying one night, the website wouldn't allow a booking of...

Rogerandandy, Thank you for your review. I'm sorry your stay with us did not meet your expectations. We too recognized the Boathouse as an area of opportunity and have recently made a management change. We are very pleased with the results and I think you will find the restaurant is now reflective of the high standards we have in terms...

Really enjoyed my visit with family. Gorgeous views and beautiful lake muskoka. Amazing!!! Had eggs Benedict at the boathouse on the property and really enjoyed myself. The grounds are well maintained. The golf course is adjacent to the property. Two swimming pools tennis and of course the lake.

Stayed here one night near the end of July. Started off by golfing at the Sands golf course. Not bad for nine holes. Stayed in a first floor lake view room. It was on the corner and had a wrap around balcony. Room and bathroom were beautiful. Boathouse was okay. Food was good. I didn't find the service bad and...

We booked 3 nights in the "premium" 4th floor lake-facing room, only to find another couple in our room when we checked in at 11pm. The staff were able to find us a vacant room - a 2nd floor parking-lot facing room for the first night. The next day we moved ourselves into a 4th floor room that came available....

This was my second visit to Taboo, but the first time just for pleasure. It did not disappoint...the room was excellent, the food at the Boathouse restaurant was very good (especially the squid and the nachos), and the atmosphere very relaxing (it helped that we had awesome, hot weather. Really enjoyed the nature trails...especially the yellow one...quite a challenge and...

We just returned from 4 nights at Taboo. We have been going here since it opened and have always loved it, but this last visit was really disappointing. I understand that they have had a fire and lost the main part of the lodge, but the hotel is running with no services, no decent dining option and management is unresponsive....

simone19642013, I'm sorry to hear you were disappointed with your recent stay. It is true, since the fire in 2014 we have modified certain services but Taboo still has a lot to offer our guests. All of the up to date information regarding our current offerings can be found on our website. With that being said the swearing and boorish...

I tried to contact Taboo ahead of our stay to see if we could have the chef at the Boathouse make us a special dinner. Well, it took them 2 weeks to reply and finally I wasn't impressed with response. The Boathouse is over priced for what you get, it's all pub food. The service is slow, breakfast arrived cold,...

vamaral2016, Thank you for your review. Although we are always happy to make reasonable modifications or substitutions to our menu, producing an entirely different menu comprised of items we don't normally carry in the kitchen presents a unique challenge. I'm sorry we were not able to accommodate your special request however if you choose to return to Taboo I would...

This resort used to be "the place" , not any more don't waste your money....it is too bad because it seems like Taboo has given up. We spent two nights at Taboo. The 'resort' rooms are lovely - well decorated and the beds are comfortable. The comfort ends there. There is no standard housekeeping but if you would 'like staff to pick up garbage in your room or extra towels, that would be okay.' And for that 'level of service' they have the nerve to charge...
