We only rented because very close family friends bought a "cottage" here. We arrived very late with a five year old and infant. If there is a next time, my choice would be to come earlier to get a lay of the land. The weather when we arrived was okay but being Late August, we received quite a bit of...

I sent an online request to Lantern Bay to book a cottage. They automatically book a cottage for you sight unseen and charge your credit card. There is no opportunity to discuss location within the resort. There are no listings on the site to preview. I would suggest you call and not do anything on line as they immediately charge...

I am finding it hard to think what to write about the Lantern Bay Resort as despite our upset at the very poor facilities and accommodation we did actually have a really nice time and the kids had a great few days here. I have two main issues. Firstly it is totally overpriced for what it is. The "cottage" we...

Lantern Bay Resort was amazing! I read the mixed reviews before going and was unsure of what to expect. After searching for a vacation spot that offered both good fishing/boating and things to keep my kids entertained, we happened upon Lantern Bay. I can't say enough positive things about the staff, they were all wonderful. The resort met and exceeded...

Very disappointed. Booked 3 nights at $341 / night (includes HST and $15 boat slip). The nights were Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in June 2016. Website states the accomodations come with all the comforts if home so you can travel light. Was very surprised that the trailer had NO bedding, towels, radio, WIFI or useful TV. There was a TV...

Thank you for your feedback, we always appreciate hearing from our guests and owners. When speaking to you at checkout today I was happy to hear that you enjoyed our beautiful location and property and that you were able to get out in the boat for much of your time. It's a great place to be with family. There are activities for all ages, lots of water activities, and nice cottages with A/C installed. You will find something to do every day of your visit. Sadly, my experience wasn't the best, as it rained a lot (my luck!) and some of my water activities were canceled. The only downside is...

The resort is overall a really great place to go with kids. There is a big playground with swings and slides. The pool is beautiful with a smaller kiddie pool. There is a beach area great for playing in the sand. You need to keep an eye out for the goose poop. It appears the resort takes care of the...

What a great location and complex with a mix of privately owned and rental trailer homes. Standard was very high on the site. Very clean and well kept. Decent facilities with a man made beach, kayaks, paddle boats, pool, basketball court, play area, site shop, lake. Enjoyable week in Muskoka.

I have read some of the negative reviews and have to say, I think it's absurd that people complain about things like bugs and a long drive to get there. When you leave the city to stay in cottage country, what do you expect? If you don't like the distance to get there then check google maps before you leave...

Part of the staff was friendly. We arrived at the cottage and it was dirty. There was ants everywhere and I had to go get ant traps. The trailers are to small. The fire pit was to close to the trailer. There was no where to eat in the trailer we had to eat outside. The wifi would not work...
