This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had. The management does not do to much to help. They keep increasing fees and changing the rules on the occupancy agreement ever single year to suit their needs. There is no consistency or communication with the management and the company itself. Their attitude is take it or leave. They are not concerned with the queries of the owners just as long as the owners pay their astronomical fees without complaining. Buyer beware

I booked this resort from the UK with thoughts of it being like a crazy UK holiday park and I was pleasantly surprised because it was a clean, quiet resort offering just the right amount of activity and rest opportunities! We stayed in a private caravan (cottage) which was no bother at all, we checked in perfectly well with lovely staff on site. The site offers scenic walks, self service water sports, swimming pool, park, kids club, recreation areas and peace! The kids were entertained and the adults were rested. I’d go back for sure and I highly recommend this if you want nature, fire pits, water fun and fresh air!

We went there with couple of friends as weekend getaway. This place has a boat lunch there and awesome lake so we spend a day on water fishing and swimming from boat. Great fishing lake! We had a lot of fun caching and releasing. Barbecue for dinner and couple beers around fireplace it all you need to finish a great day !

We rented a private cottage at this resort and had a wonderful time. We really enjoyed canoeing on the lake and having campfires at the back of the cottage. The desk host was wonderfully helpful and was able to help us with all our needs, from canoe reservations, to ice cream purchases, to internet usage to firewood purchases. I thought it was a really nice get away for the August long weekend. It was quiet (we were located a bit farther to the back of the resort (which we enjoyed!). My two comments for improvement are as follows: 1. Clear the walking trail that is noted on the resort map that leads to the north east -- it doesn't really go anywhere and is overgrown (but possibly because no one uses it). But perhaps it would be more used if it was cleared. and 2. The $45 per day for an extra car parking is too much. It's worse than Toronto for parking prices and when traveling from the city, sometimes you have to leave at different times and go in different cars. This is just a bit impractical and expensive for no reason.

We stayed at Lantern Bay for one week and had an amazing time there. The cottage was very clean, staff was super friendly. The kids loved the beach and the pool. It was beautiful. In terms of booking - we asked specific questions about the unit and it’s location. The staff was very responsive and sent photos. We will go back!

This place is a money trap no matter for renting or for buying. We purchased this place bieng told that this would be great way to own a cottage and not pay the price of a full cottage. So we bought and joined th rental program where they take care of everything including 50% of the income. We were told that if damages occurred that they would be taking deposits and we would be compensated for them. When we reported damage they claimed everything including a fire on our deck as wear and tear. Rental program for the first year brought in our lease paid and a couple hundred bucks. Second year $4000 towards our $5000 lease third year was a measly $2400. This place is a giant waste of money with services seriously starting to lack and costs going up like crazy. We will be moving our unit to private property at the end of this season to get true enjoyment out of it.

We did not book through trip advisor but stayed here because a friend owns a property. So we don't know what the booking process is like. However, if you are looking for a chill place to rest and get away from the city. This is the place to come. We came up the 20-24 of October just in time to see the leaves change and fall. The staff was very nice and helpful, the laundry facilities and fitness gym is great. It was simply nice to sleep in, sit by the campfire, read a book on the deck and we spent a day checking out Gravenhurst and Muskoka Wharf.

Positives - friendly staff - quiet at night -pool Negatives - trailer was not cleaned. There was a lot of dog hair, some in balls around the trailer. Coffee stain and sugar on counter, dirty linens and towels left on the beds, glass doors covered in dog slobber. - front desk sent someone to "clean" all he did was remove the sheets and then swear he had cleaned the rest. -spent an hour on our first night cleaning the trailer. -trailers are very close together. - beach was dirty, water was full of seaweed. Not good for swimming, Overall our holiday was fine. For what we paid I expected a lot more, at least that it would be clean. Will not go back, would not recommend.

We only rented because very close family friends bought a "cottage" here. We arrived very late with a five year old and infant. If there is a next time, my choice would be to come earlier to get a lay of the land. The weather when we arrived was okay but being Late August, we received quite a bit of rain. Our "cottage", it's really a trailer park and you stay in one of three different size trailers, was a little off the beaten path which made it difficult to navigate with the youngsters in the rain. Instead we spent a lot of time in the trailer which was okay. Unfortunately our DVD player wasn't working and there is no cable so there are only so many crafts, colouring, and reading you can do with an active five year old and a baby who is being sleep trained. However, when I did have cellular service, which was infrequent at best, I was able to call the front desk and they did exchange the DVD player. Tip: download lots of movies and shows before you get here, and or bring some. The DVDs that you can borrow are pretty brutal, but it is nice that they have them for your usage. The full kitchen is a nice touch. We went shopping and I bright a lot of Tupperware, foil, own pairing knives and stuff I felt I couldn't live without. They have a BBQ which is awesome for making pizza on. The shower is teensy and awkward. Not an enjoyable part at all, but what can you expect? Everything really was fine, living the high live it ain't but it is pretty great for a week. Anything that you like (own pillow, certain comforts of home, towels, etc. ) you really need to bring. The activities for kids are awesome. There is a playground, a pool, and lots of other children. People are friendly and it is a laid back environment. No need to bring fancy anything here, but you're not roughing it either. Our friends have the best view, lake side, wifi, tv, and a pretty great golf cart, but don't expect that in all. The people who work here are accommodating and friendly, very family oriented. Many have written about the lack of privacy, this is true, but what does one expect from a trailer park? When looking at this place, just remember what it is and isn't. You will enjoy if that's what you try to do.

I sent an online request to Lantern Bay to book a cottage. They automatically book a cottage for you sight unseen and charge your credit card. There is no opportunity to discuss location within the resort. There are no listings on the site to preview. I would suggest you call and not do anything on line as they immediately charge your credit card. If you dont like what they give you then there is cancellation fee of $100. I have booked a lot of properties over the years and I have never encountered such a poor booking system or process. The prices are also very high for a mobile home.
