Had an excellent stay. Enjoyed cilantro restaurant, the lodge dining room, as well as the lounge. Service was awesome. Checkin was very easy. Shuttle to parking lot was convenient. Accommodations were nice, loved the wood burning fireplace. Close to multiple trails ideal for hiking. Was perfect for our couples stay. We will be back.

Property's Favourite Review
Rolling into the Emerald Lake Lodge feels like the beginning of a Great Gatsby vacation. After a walk around the lake be sure to order the espresso martini and later that evening go for a smokey old fashioned while playing a card game. It is fully acceptable to chat with the staff as they too are so interesting to spend a little time with. Nothing but the best in this hidden gem. I was able to finish writing a chapter of my book here. The previous. year, I painted. This time - card games. Next time I will bring my fav book and share the best parts with my friends while I listen to my daughter laughing in the hot tub with her friends and my husband sharing stories with his by the fire-pit. Then we meet up for our family dinner and share excellent wine and Canadian cuisine. This is a place where we all can exhale while sitting in the middle of a snow globe.

We had seen pictures and friends reviews - but our entire stay was beyond our best expectations. The Staff is a treasure, the locations is majestic, the facilities were so wicked nice that we were hard pressed to ever leave - we will be back.

Perfectly wonderful is hardly adequate a phrase for Emerald Lake Lodge. The setting will take your breath away, it is so amazingly beautiful. That you can stay at the edge of this jewel-toned lake with the mountain peaks surrounding you is a marvel. Although our room was a little tattered at the edges, it was perfectly comfortable, and little scuffs were so minor in comparison to the view and experience. Somehow the ambience was immediately relaxing and awe-inspiring -- it's wonderful to feel remote, yet pampered! Most staff were enormously friendly and helpful, and leeway can be made for a few who were inexperienced and likely just starting work there. Dining was excellent. Emerald Lake Lodge was the highlight of our two week stay in the region.

I spent two nights at the lodge. I will start with the positives. The location is idyllic. I had a lovely room on the second floor of one of the buildings facing the lake. The bed was comfortable, there was wood and kindling to make a cozy fire, and they provide bathrobes. The hot tub was out of service while I was there, but the bathroom in my room had a deep tub and very hot water, so I didn’t miss that amenity. There was a balcony overlooking the lake, although the lake is somewhat obstructed by trees. It was still very peaceful. Now, the downsides. You need to be in good shape to get around the resort. The resort rooms are spread all around the hilly property, so you’ll be hauling your luggage a long way and then dragging it up multiple sets of stairs if you have an upstairs room. (Or you can wait 30 minutes for someone to help you). They also tell you not to bring any food, so you have to eat on their property, but actually getting food is a challenge. The first night I had a reservation at the main restaurant which worked out fine, but the next day one of the only 3 restaurants closed early for an event. I then went to eat at the bar which was completely empty inside, but after being completely ignored by the staff for 15 minutes, I walked out. The lack of service and attention was appalling. Overall I enjoyed my stay and the beautiful hike around the lake, but I doubt I would ever stay here again, which is too bad.

What a place... This was probably my favourite location I visited in the time I was here. The peace and tranquillity, especially early morning and evening when the day crowds are long gone and Emerald Lake once again returns to it's natural tranquil state. I would not hesitate to return. I do like quieter and calmer locations and this guy the bill. The rooms are nicely appointed and there was some refurbishment going in during my visit that did not detract from the experience.

Fantastic location, can’t fault that, shame the same can’t be said about the accommodation, tired and worn out best describes it. Faulty plumbing and very old throughout. Not up to modern standards. Service at breakfast was abysmal, mine arrived ok, twenty minutes later my wife’s Bagel arrived after asking four members of staff and being ignored. Far from impressed.

They don't tell you that parking is remote and you have limited access to your vehicle. "Lodge" rooms are not in the lodge - they are remote cabin rooms with limited views. We had to carry our luggage about 300 yards up and down hills (they said we could wait for assistance but it would be a while and "it's not as far as it looks".

A great lodge in the most beautiful part of the Rocky Mountains. Glacial green lake surrounded by towering mountains. A variety of skill level trails from the novice to experienced provide exercise and incredible photo opportunities. Food was very good and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

Read all the bad reviews and believe them! Do not stay here and save your money, especially if you are coming with kids! We came to find out there was no AC in the rooms. It was like 28 C that day and the room felt like an oven. That fireplace you thought was idyllic in a wooden lodge setting suddenly doesn’t seem so appealing anymore! Their rooms are tiny, old and musty. There was no draft even coming through! I can’t imagine the situation if you had local smoke from the wild fires to be stuck in this dingy room! They expected us to sleep overnight here! Not a chance, we checked out immediately (big loss considering their room rate is outrageous to begin with!) Stay in Banff, you’ll at least have tons of hotels with proper amenities that work( pool/hot tub)! Nothing works here! Even their fishing dock was crumbling and we were looking forward to fishing with the kids. The other option was to wait in line for a water equipment with the public that aren’t even guests at the hotel. Do a day trip and stay away from this hotel, your family and pocket will thank you for it!
