Sunchaser Vacation Villas at Riverside is often celebrated for its cleanliness and inviting atmosphere, with guests noting the well-maintained grounds and clean pools. Families in particular enjoy the array of amenities such as playgrounds and games rooms. However, some guests feel the rooms could benefit from updates and better lighting control. While the hotel staff earn praise for their friendliness and professionalism, the overall value proposition is sometimes questioned, as additional fees and outdated aspects of the resort have left some travelers wanting more.

Due to covid19, we were not able to enjoy all the resort has to offer so cannot give 5 stars. The check-in process is extremely long so use a bathroom before you arrive. The bathtubs in the rooms are very large and as another reviewer stated, very high and would be difficult to get into for a short person or someone with a disability. The suites are clean and have the basics. You have to share the laundry facilities and have designated days and are responsible for disinfecting the machines when you are done. There is a $15.00 per day resort fee and and additional $70.00 cleaning fee if you do not stay a full week. Considering you are expected to clean and disinfect everything yourself, remove all garbage and recyclables and place in appropriate locations outside, these extra fees are
a bit much. I understand the reason for the extra cleaning, but not the high extra charges. Also, the bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in.

Despite the lack of pools and Spas due to the existing Covid 19 restrictions we had a very nice stay at this clean and modern resort!
The only complaint and it’s because of our age , was that we were given a suite on the third floor and the aces was only by way of stairs. We found that having to pack our bags and groceries up and down those stairs was a bit exhausting! I’m sure that younger people would have no issues!
The unit was well equipped with a very usable kitchen and one of the largest bathtubs that I have ever seen!
The bed was comfortable ,the living room chair and sofa not so much!
There were Videos available at the office and the games room was available with a pool table, shuffleboard and other things . Again Covid Restrictions were in play.

Overall the resort is well kept. we were put in a B side unit which are really suited for someone staying just a day or so. No bathtub. No fireplace. No mirror other than over sink in bathroom. we asked about moving to an A unit and were told it would cost an extra $40 per night. We were staying a week and did not find the B unit satisfactory. Outside was very drafty and so was the air conditioner. When booking state you want an A side unit

We are booked here at Riverside for the whole month of April for work in the area. Upon booking in January, we talked to the resort front desk and we were told they would try to put us on the second floor or away from noise if possible, so no one would be above us or disturb us, while we are working on computers. Well that never happened, so I just went and talked to 2 different staff at the front desk and was told: Quote, OH we never tell people that. Lies as we had the front desk call us 3 times prior to checking to verify our booking.
Now we are here the Hot Pool is closed to us but not to the Resort Hotel Guests and the Rec Center pool is by random draw. Yet Radium Hot Pool is open to limited patrons, what a bunch of BS.
These villas were supposedly renovated, however they spent most of the Reno’s apparently outside, as the furniture is cheap, hard, the bed mattress and pillows suck, the tv is bolted to the wall and doesn’t move, its sitting crooked and at a wrong angle from the couch!! The barbecue outside is old and flames come out all over. The Resort looks good on the outside but there is no sound barrier in the floors or walls and so you can hear every flush of the toilet, very shower, every step or stomp or kids running across the floors from above and beside, disgusting!! Also we were told to only do laundry on certain days, then we have to sterilize the machines ourselves when done with them, like everyone will do this, right!!!! We are owners here, well originally Hillside, and this is the 3rd time since the resort got rid of Hillside Resorts and every time we have come service and quality gets worse and worse!!! Guaranteed this is the last time here. So disgusted with the quality of units, for the maintenance fees yearly charges, as well as the front desk staff are rude and will point blank lie to you. Once this place was nice but that was years ago, so sad!!!!!!

We had a 2 bedroom suite. I couldn't understand the other comments about the two 1 bedroom units being across from each other, but, they are. There is a door that is locked for our unit which says the unit number and then a/ b so you unlock that first door and you're in a very small vestibule, one that has two different doors in it that are locked. One is for unit a one is for unit b. In that small vestibule is also a washing machine and dryer if you are in just one of the units they will tell you that you have a date and time that you can use the washing machine and dryer. There is no cost for the washing machine and dryer and they do provide some washing powder for it if you didn't bring your own.
The a unit is larger and it has a fairly large deck that is private and has a covered area as well as barbecue. The b side is more like a motel type of a balcony where you share that balcony space with another unit and there's one barbecue that you would share.
In the larger unit the a unit there is a bathtub which is larger than any bathtub I've ever seen in my life, it is literally set up for two people to be in. In the b unit there's a shower with the toilet. There is a smaller fridge like a 3/4 size and a smaller stove as well in the b unit. There is a three-seater pull out couch in the larger a unit living room and a two-seater pullout coach in the smaller unit. Both units have queen size beds in the bedroom along with tvs. There's also TVs out in the living room. There are dishwasher tabs and liquid dish soap and a couple of garbage bags for the bathroom as well as a couple of black garbage bags for the kitchen. There is frying pans, pots, Pizza cooking sheet, a kettle, coffee maker, knife set, cutting board, cutlery, along with bowls plates, mugs, glasses and a can opener, pair of scissors, basically what you would need to operate a kitchen. When you check in at the front desk they give you coffee filters if you need them as well as salt and pepper if you need them but you may have to ask for them. Right now during covid they will register your unit for a lottery to win time in the pool each day. They will call between 1:30 and 3:00 to offer you a time for the next day. If your unit gets drawn, you must call them back and confirm what time you want based on what's still available and there are seven one and a half hour units of time available for the pool each day.

Checked in at 4:20 pm. Found dishwasher with food particles on dishes, uncleaned cups, glasses and utensils , uncleaned BBQ utensils. It smelled and nauseated us when dishwasher was opened. Food particles and crumbs on kitchen floors and counter tops, dinning tables, chairs and floors. We had to wait in our running compact car with week's food items for close to 2 hours with outside temperature close to 35°C. Due to a medical condition of cross phobia, we could not sleep on main floor and the reason to reserve top floor unit and was noted on the reservation sheet. We would not be able to move into room 609A until 8:30 pm. Found out a day later all food items were stale and we had to eat outside for 5 days which was not on our plan as we were not ready to eat in restaurants during the pandemic. A huge expense added on us due to the resort negligence. We had to open all windows to air the lysol smell as were told lysol was used to mop the walls, as a result we suffered many mosquito bites. Ate supper at 10:30 pm instead at 6 pm regularly. Found out the toilet switch was jammed. Plus we had to pick up paper tower rolls, salt and pepper shaker from front desk and can opener next day, as room items were never checked previously. Plus there were no supply of teabags or coffee in the room and we had to buy on our own. Checked in clerk Jo was unprofessional and hitting table repeatedly while talking to us which made us frightened. Requested resort Manager Sol Olivas to address the concerns. We were told Sol was on vacation and the replaced Manager Melanie would not be in till 2 days later on Tuesday. Jo did not offer us to relax temporarily in the main floor vacant room and store our food items in their refrigerator until our room is cleaned. This was just common sense. We were treated very unkindly. We found out later Melanie was only resort Purchaser and not replaced Manager. Their communication was poor. During our 6 nights stay, there were no Manager on site when the resort was operating at full capacity. Is this legal? No wonder there were many guests being upset and complaining to front desk that many issues were not addressed and some even left. They just passed the butt and placed them in the back burner. Very ignorant administration! This was beyond our expectation.

We have owned at this timeshare resort property for 20 years, having bought and been loyal owners and visitors ever since. The renovations are lovely and laminate floors sure look nice and are Easy to maintain but NOISE CARRIES. For the first time in 20 years of visits we are returning home early because the large family above us cannot stop their kids from running, jumping and bouncing balls. We tried by asking nicely and we believe they tried to limit the noise but these floors do no favors. Sunchaser would be wise to prioritize large families on lower levels. Traveling as a 50 year old couple alone, our noise was all about moving chairs and maybe occasionally dropping something on the floor. Had this large family with young children been placed on the lower level instead of up on 3, we would likely still be relaxing at this beautiful property that is a home away from home for us. Leaving disappointed for the first time in 20 years. We have noticed many TS resorts renovating to laminate flooring and noise from other suites is worse at these places but this was definitely our worst experience with it. I do not think a big change is needed but more thoughtful room assignments is warranted.

We discovered Sunchaser Vacation Villas at Riverside owners' condos consist of a combination "A" unit and a "B" unit, both with one bedroom and separate entrance. We exchanged RCI points to book a "1 bedroom" condo thinking we were getting a condo with full kitchen, full living room, private balcony. Turns out an RCI "1 Bedroom" is a "B" 1 bedroom unit. You get a small stove (no oven), sink and fridge along one wall and one sofa that looks directly at the "kitchen area" and no private balcony. Clean but very small. We paid an upgrade fee to get the "A" 1 bedroom with full kitchen, living room and private balcony. RCI doesn't tell you your "1 Bedroom" is the "B" unit. If you want a full kitchen, living room and private balcony you have to book a "2 bedroom" for a lot more points.

Staff are very friendly, property is clean, condo and private balcony was very nice. Just know what you are actually booking when you book a "1 Bedroom" condo with RCI.

The number of RCI properties in Canada is limited and Covid international travel restrictions have resulted in a very limited availability of nights in Canada. RCI has made no attempt to extend points at no cost to Canadian members. Companies everywhere have gone out of their way to create Covid-related programs, but not RCI. Again another "fail" by RCI, a completely "tone deaf" organization. Using RCI points for hotels, cars, air is a joke ... the savings are negligible for the points used.

Resort rooms are clean and spacious. We booked two bedroom which ended up in two separate suites that share an entrance and laundry. This provided two kitchens, two living rooms, etc. so was nice to let the kids have their own space.

The wifi is unusable at this resort. I relied on my phones data for everything during the entire stay. Dont expect you can use the wifi for even web browsing.

The bbq was crazy also. Since we had the bigger suite we had a private natural bbq on the deck/patio in the back. it burned super hot, which was great, but the grill was old, dirty and all bent up. we werent comfortable cooking straight on it, ended up putting foil down and cooking on that. also the lid of the bbq did not stay up, had to reposition the bbq so the lid could rest against the stone to prop it up.

30mins away from Lussier hot spring and Radium hot spring. 5mins away from fairmont hot spring. Located in a great community wherein it is close to grocery store, food spots, coffee shops etc. Unit is clean and well maintained with complete kitchen tools. Facilities available gym, hot tub, warm pool, sauna and steam room. You can rent movies. They have excellent wifi! Me and my husband worked from this location and no problem with wifi at all even if we are both having video calls while streaming music in the tv.

I also used the wifi for work when I was there in November 2021. It seemed very stable and I didn't have any issues. My only caveat is that in November there weren't many people around. Depending on when you go more people means more internet traffic.

In the unit I stayed at last Spring we were directly facing the golf course and staying on the first floor there was no elevators as this building only had 2 floors. We were on Riverside. My husband and I go to Sunchaser, Fairmount Hot Springs every Spring and we stayed at Mountain side and Riverside and some of the units definitely have elevators in their buildings, especially in the newer units which have 4 floors. Mountain side has the taller buildings and they definitely have elevators. I suggest you call Sunchaser and find out your confirmation # of your unit, usually they tell you which unit you will be staying at and on which side, 1 week prior to your departure, Mountain Side or Riverside and you will know if you have elevators or not it in the unit they have assigned to you. The staff are excellent in answering all of your questions and accommodating for any special needs. We go every year to Sunchaser every Spring, and are never disappointed. The view up there is breathtaking!!! Hope this help! Anne

As we stayed at Sunchasers, I cannot comment about the rest of the locations. However, the resort was very clean and maintained well. We had a problem with our refrigerator and the staff came immediately and helped us out move the stuff from the fridge. as it was late in the evening, they changed our fridge the next day and helped us move the stuff back. Staff was vey helpful. Rooms were clean when we reached there. Of course, if you wanted the room to be cleaned everyday by the staff there was a charge to it.

We were there in the winter so sorry I cannot help with this one. I would recommend that you call or email the resort directly for updated information regarding the water slide.
