Detailed Reviews
I have been staying at the Mortagne since it was new. The dining room, menu, bar, food and staff are all wonderful. The newer section features rooms with mini-living rooms and modern amenities. I love the Nespresso machine and the large vanity. The separate toilet room offer privacy for couples and the glass shower offer none at all, much to the delight of some guests I am sure! Plenty of hot water and a very responsive thermostat! I stay there twice a year while visiting my grandchildren and never have considered any other hotel in the area.

I booked 3 nights while I visited Montreal for the first time. The room was very clean with good smell when we entered. The staff warmly welcome us and they spoke English, so no language barrier at all. The only thing I had the room services didn’t come to clean the garbage and when I asked the women who cleaned the other room in same floor she informed me to contact the reception first. This wasn’t big issue for me that’s why I didn’t contact the receptionist. I will back to same hotel next summer.

While they probably get more business travelers, my wife and I saw many folks with children at the hotel. Located in an industrial area, the hotel is very nicely decorated, has a good restaurant and an even better outside bar. Several other restaurants within a few minutes walk and located just off the A20 motorway. The room was large, clean and the beds were very comfortable. The public areas were quiet, well-kept and the staff were all very nice and didn't mind conversing in English (we don't speak French, I'm sorry to say.) The two bartenders were funny, attentive and made great cocktails, although a "shot" might be slightly less liquor in Canada than in the states...haha.

The Mortagne hotel has nice rooms although the interior of my room was a little outdated. Nice restaurant and chill out area ( much needed given the snow storm I experienced when I visited). The staff was flexible and friendly even thought I checked in at 2:30am. I saw that the hotel has a pool, but I can’t comment on it as I haven’t used it. The library is well equipped and there is a little shop where you can grab few items ( food, drinks and Canadians gifts) if you wish next to the reception area. Only down point is that they do not offer breakfast buffet but only breakfast a la carte ... not ideal ... but everything else was fine! Perfect if you need to stay in the area for business!

Stayed in this hotel for 10 days but very disappointed! The room had no refrigerator; only upon request and received after many hesitations. The staff was not friendly and when checking out they asked if we had taken anything from the room!!! They themselves forgot to give us 250CAD back. The room was also not cleaned; only on request and only happened twice during a 10-day stay... the dust remained, coffee pods were not replenished... you had to ask the reception about this and we received 3 pods for the 2 of us for another 6 days!!! The restaurant was also not recommended; sour soup, pork chop 2mm thick on a piece of baguette. Breakfast without croissants or bread/jam… only à la carte choice of eggs. The jacuzzi was under maintenance, the sauna was dirty. The fitness looked good, but I didn't try it. Location in industrial zone, bad air! The windows of the room could therefore not be opened. We will never return!

Reasonable hotel. Nice and modern.
A few oddities:
The bathrooms have “double”/ “French”doors. Two narrow doors that open into the bathroom. There is no way to lock the bathroom. And opening just one side isn’t really easy to fit through.
There are surprisingly few electrical outlets. Lots of light switches but not a lot of outlets. There also is no alarm clock, which is fine, I guess we’re all using our phones now. But there aren’t any outlets near enough to the bed to plug your phone on the nightstand while you sleep.
The pool isn’t accessible. You have to take an elevator to the basement and then walk up stairs to the main level to access the pool. :( It’s a decent pool though.

This is an exceptional hotel from the moment you book your stay, to the moment you check out. It’s an all round pleasant experience .
The hotel staff are courteous, welcoming, and knowledgeable.
I’ve been to this hotel several times, and they never cease to amaze me.
I strongly recommend you treat yourself to a wonderful meal in their restaurant. It’s truly amazing.
Weather permitting you can dine in their exceptional patio area, or dine inside.
The rooms are clean, and you will get a really good night’s sleep.

Super clean hotel in all places: lobby, elevator, parking area, and the rooms.
Long check in process, the entire team cares more about enforcing their policy than practices active listening.
When I asked for the supporting document of incidental charges of $50 CAD, the general manager, Danielle, was unwilling and asked me, "only $50 CAD! why made such a big deal?" I replied it matters, $50 here and another $50 there can add up quickly. She seems to be emotional unstable. Because soon after that, she looked over my account, spoke French to her staff and director, Natalie, and raised her voice by yelling at me saying, "We need your address!" She walked away. All eyewitnesses including other guests in line were stunned and speechless. I was not upset but felt this is not the type of management I wanted to work or deal with long term. Aside from the slow check in and bad attitudes from the team including Danielle the manager, the room itself was clean, where I tipped double for housekeeping.

Sorry for this experience that I take the liberty of rectifying. Danielle is not the general manager but the owner of the hotel and I confirm that all hotels in the world ask for a deposit upon arrival. I would also like to point out that Nathalie is not the receptionist. And finally, I am happy to know that you have studied medicine to bring a pseudo diagnosis of Danielle. Marc

Your hotel was excellent and the staff were 5 star . Breakfast was great however your dinner menu needs improvement, and I was disappointed with my choice, the lobster bisque was very not appetizing. No lobster and too much pasta. I had 2 cousins staying at the hotel and they had the same opinion . I found the fan in the room to be noisy and was unable to turn it off.
