I was just ending a 17 day motorcycle ride from Vancouver Island to Dawson City and return, this was my last hotel/motel stay. It was by far the best of the best. It covered all bases, reasonably priced, very clean, well updated, comfortable bed, fantastic internet, the tv channel package one of the best I have seen in years at a motel, the cute little characters folded from the towels on the bed and in the bathroom were a nice touch. When I arrived the outside temp was 35C/ 95F, I was initially concerned as the motel doesn't have A/C but the owner assured me it wouldn't be an issue and it wasn't. I would stay here again for sure!

We were in town to vend at the garlic festival. The rooms were very clean and had everything u would need. They went the little extra mile folding the towels into cute figures which made it feel special. We felt welcomed and at home. We stayed in room 5 and the bathtub was fabulous to use our handmade B’s Bath bathbombs in. The only thing I wish is that the beds and pillows were a little newer and more comfortable. But for the price it is a great value!!! It was perfect for our needs.

The place is well kept and clean the property reflects the rooms as well. Tidy and well kept. Will be back next year! Highly reccomend to stay here while you tour the town. And....how cool are these towels!

Everything was great. Met my expectations. Bed comfortable. The staff were very friendly. Nights getting cooler this time of year so no A/C was not an issue for me. Very convenient to everything I needed. Had room 17.

Initially I reserved an RV site for two nights while my truck was having maintenance work done. My husband's health declined to the point that I couldn't take the RV but I felt bad cancelling the reservation just four days ahead of my arrival so I reserved their motel room instead rather than the room I normally would have reserved across from the service center. No air conditioning, toilet on a slanted floor, tiny fiberglass tube for a shower, couldn’t get internet and was really dark and dingy. It was so hot without the air conditioning my heavy coated dog was suffering in the heat. I was concerned that since we would be in the room all the next day without a vehicle, it would be too hot for my dog. Since I had not used the room I asked the proprietor if I could get my money back. He refused and would only give me back the second day’s fee. He said it was my responsibility to check to see if a motel had air conditioning. 10 years of renting motel rooms, I’ve never run across one that didn’t! He said lots of motels didn’t have AC. I beg to differ! It cost me a full night's rent to leave this motel and go to one with air conditioning. I could see that if the motel were full and and they needed my room but the motel was half empty. I would even have been willing to pay for half the cost of a night but this particular greedy proprietor was in no mood to do anything but take as much of my money as he could get away with. I would avoid this dump and these people at all costs!!!

Response from shawn b, Owner at 100 Mile Motel and RV Park

First of all, we don't recall your booking of an RV spot and changing it into a room. As far as we could remember it was a just room that you booked for. So your husband health declined but you felt bad canceling the reservation four (4) days ahead of your arrival date? Wow, sounds patronizing! We must be more important than your husband...I sincerely hope that he is doing better though. I was just amazed by how people like you book a room not knowing what to expect. You can't tell me you did not search for our place on the internet first, looked at the pictures and read the details before you booked your room? Besides, it was only a/c that we do not have and you complained about, now you are trashing our place?! It wasn't even that hot when you were here and the whole summer here has not been hot yet, never even reached 30 degrees yet. Usually playing around 5-25 degrees. There were even days we had to turn the heat on, plus it always cools off here at night and all windows could be opened. Slanted floor? Really? was the water on the toilet higher on one side than the other? What's wrong with a brand new regular sized fiberglass shower? You couldn't connect to our FREE INTERNET when there is an INDIVIDUAL MODEM on each room that not even most chain hotels have? Ask shaw company who's got the best internet and cable package in our town! Dark and dingy? Turn on all the lights, that's what it is there for! Bottom line is, when you book a room in advance, it is your responsibility as a customer to check and know what kind of room you are getting and also what amenities does the place has to offer. You expect not to pay for your 1st night when you stayed in the room with your dog for 3 hours before you came to the office and complained? If having no a/c was such a big deal for you, why bother checking-in then after asking if we have one? If you are a well-traveled person, then you should know that not all places have a/c. And if I am greedy like what you are saying here, I would have not returned your money for the 2nd night either especially after you insulting our place saying it's not suitable for your dog?! Our motel might be old, but it is way far from being a dump! The reason why it is a known and established business in 100 mile for 73 years now. We might have no a/c, but I guarantee you it is way cleaner and updated compared to some places here in 100 mile and other towns considering its age. If you have such high standard and expectations, then why book in a small mom and pop motel like us and not in high-end hotels? Talking about rip off eh?lol... Just so you know, we will be happy NOT to have you back here in our motel. We are happy with our regular customers who are really well-traveled and easy to please.
