Let's be honest...this is a budget motel and so the review will be based on that primary criterion. I paid a tad over $50 USD for this place and there's really not a lot to complain about. Our room has two double beds, one of which is in a separate bedroom, a nice sized sitting and dining area, a functional kitchenette with full size frig and mini range. Having been on the road for 46 days we managed to whip up some spaghetti with all that was provided. I tested out the bed for a short nap. It was plenty comfy. And maybe the best part is that it has a fully functional Wi-Fi. Always an iffy proposition. There is a BBQ grill outside and ample parking. I'd take this everyday of our 46 day trip when you consider how much we have paid and how little we have often received for our money. Considering what you spend, I think it's a bargain.

If you are staying anywhere near Fort Macleod or Lethbridge stay here. This is an very unassuming motel when you drive in but so neat and tidy. The owner is so friendly and helpful. Recommended where to eat dinner (a super place). The rooms are outstanding so so clean, all renovated plus they have a small kitchen which included a toaster oven, microwave, fridge, kettle, all the dishes,AND a Keurig coffee maker. The desk clerk will give you either coffee or tea. They also have real glasses and cups for coffee and tea. There is a nice flat screen TV with cables to hook up to your computer.

The bathroom is not large but very functional.

One of the best places I have stayed in for a long time. In addition, the price was super.

Yikes! Stained towels, bugs in the sink and tub, saggy bed. I should have kept driving or slept in my vehicle. The only reason I stayed was because of it's location and I couldn't stay awake any longer.

Was travelling across the prairies with my Sister and needed a room for Friday of the Sept Long Weekend. We knew we would be driving 12 hour days, so almost 2 MONTHS AGO, she booked a room at the Fort Motel based on the great reviews on Trip Advisor. She also looked at the pictures on their website and they looked OK. She asked for a regular NS room with two queen beds. Things went horribly wrong. Not sure if the expectations of the other reviewers are low or what, but the initial room we were given was scary. Nothing like any of the pictures shown. We got Rm 101, one of the three family units, which was a kitchen unit, with two separate bed areas and a living room. We did NOT want a kitchen unit. It smelled nasty. The sofa was so dirty (hairy & stains) neither of us would sit on it. The kitchen had 'roller blinds' which were so old and dirty, they were sticky and did not want to roll down. And when rolled down had holes and would only stay open by hooking the blind by a hole on a nail at the bottom of the window. There was NO bathtub, just an ancient metal shower stall. The sink did not drain well and the toilet was not happy when flushed.

Sis walked to the office (could not get the phone to work), told the owner I was not happy, and asked about a different room. She was told the only other room was Rm 119, another kitchen unit. We reluctantly took it, as we had already paid and being the long weekend, would have had a hard time finding another place. We should have just slept in the car. Again, this room had no bathtub, just an ancient shower stall. The bathroom walls were running with yellow steam stains and had hair stuck all over them. Our shoes left prints on the floor. The in-room coffee was no where in the room, although I would not dared drink any coffee made there. Clusters of dead flies in the ceiling light fixtures. I tried to sleep on top of the bed cover in my clothes, but being so traumatized by the condition of the room, got up at 4:00am, roused my sister and we left.

I cannot understand all the other good reviews. We were expecting a room like shown on the website. Maybe, because we were only staying one night of a long weekend, we were given the worst of the rooms. But the owner took our money. $87 He should be ashamed. Beware the Fort Motel!!! It is a sad place.

This is a first! In all my decades of travel (my parents yanked me to parts of the world as a kid & now I travel for leisure & business), I've never come across a place to lay your head at night where the reception/office door was locked at 4:00pm. Seems to me that's about the time travellers begin to straggle 'Inn' (pun intended). I had to ring the doorbell a couple times before a kindly gentlemen greeted me outside. Obviously this is a small operation, so my guess is that the host who checks you in is also likely doing chores around the place & wants to ensure his office is safe while unattended.

Not the most attractive on the outside, but the rooms are well equipped and clean. Tiny kitchenette if you care to prepare your own meals. If not, your host is quick to ask if you know the area and happily offers advice for the various local culinary options.

Being in the 'cowboy' region of southern Alberta, your room decor mildly reflects that culture.

Yup, a little quaint & definitely a 'mom n pop' operation, but for the very reasonable price I'd say you're getting better than average value. Should I need to stay in Fort Macleod again, I'll certainly check into this place again - presuming, of course, they answer their doorbell!

This hotel room was very clean and organized. My stay was good. I enjoyedit and it was a very nice spacious area. There was a lot of plates and utensils and pans to cook with. The oven worked fine and the fudge actually kept our food fresh

Newly renovated, clean comfy and very friendly desk. Everything was well taken care of and a nice location in the center of town. A one hour drive from Waer Lakes National Park. Easy to recommend the Fort Motel as an excellent value and nice place to stay.

The motel had quite a selection of kitchenettes. Ones with hot stove burners but not like
home. Had checked other motels. This motel had best cooking ktichen facility in cabins.
18 cu ft fridges. Smaller cabin bad bar fridges. I opted for the bigger cabin. Very reasonable and neat and courteous.
