Spent one night here while touring southern Alberta with my two kids. This is a nice, small town motel. Very clean, the beds were comfy and the air conditioning worked. It was exactly what you expect a small town, cheapish motel to be like.
Very good location! Walking distance to restaurants and tourist spots.

This motel is reminiscent of those in the 50's and 60's along Route 66 in the US. The check-in and checkout were flawless. The property has been well maintained - I noticed that new insulated windows had been recently installed. Our unit was more of a cottage and had lounge chairs outside with potted flowers - very homey. The room had a microwave and fridge and there was a shower but no tub. The room was very clean and the beds very comfortable (extra pillows were a plus). A flat panel TV with cable/satellite and high speed internet access was also included. A small continental breakfast is served in the motel office. One nice feature is that you park outside your room - literally six feet away from your door. Prices are reasonable. The town of Fort Macleod itself is well worth a visit as it has a number of historical buildings in the downtown area and a replica fort with lots of Mountie history. Good small town restaurants are just a block away. If you're looking for a bit of nostalgia and enjoy a laid back atmosphere, this motel (and town) is for you. We really enjoyed our stay for these reasons and would definitely stay again if we were in the area.

Old, basic, simple room but clean.
Just OK if you're passing by for one night.

This hotel. Good location. Friendly young man at desk. That’s the only positives. It is so old and no upgrades. The bathroom is tiny and the towels absolutely stink like mould and itchy. Comforter is piley, itchy and old. No lightbulbs in the lamp or way to plug it in! We pulled out bed to look for plug-in and it was disgusting under it. The room Smelled like cigarettes and mold and just so icky. No pool. Wifi didn’t work. Tv had just a few channels. Just not worth $104/nt.

Hotel is very low quality not very well maintained. There is a smell that doesn't go away and lots of the stuff in the room haven't been replaced for years. It's quite gross and can be described as an.... sort of acceptable dump? In a desperate need I guess. If you can stay somewhere else, do!

We chose this place because its website promised a pool, unlike the others in town. But when I got up for an 8am dip, I was indifferently told that it was closed in the mornings. "But you've got this nice picture of a pool on your website!" I said. "It's closed for cleaning until 2pm!" said the manager. "But you don't say that on the website, you didn't tell me that when I checked in, and the folder in the rooms says it's open all day!" I said, amazed. "Not my problem" was the gist of the reply, before the man I believe was the manager added "You should have checked when you arrived in your room." "What -- checked that the information in the folder and on the website wasn't actually a bunch of lies, after I'd paid at check-in?" I asked, incredulous. "Can I have a discount, please, as I only chose your place over the others because of this pool which you advertise?" I asked. "No, out of the question" was the indifferent reply.

So -- if you like to be lied to by a website and insulted by a manager, this is your place. If you fancy a swim before breakfast, it isn't.

Booked our room on line while travelling. Was a fine place to stay for the night during our trip. Friendly helpful service and willing to accommodate. We ended up with a family room with kitchenette, which worked out great as there is a grocery and liquor store right across the street. We arrived after 5pm so did not really explore Fort Macleod just a short walk to stretch the legs and then groceries for dinner. Room was spacious and there is a pool and hot tub that looked alright. Cleanliness was average kitchen was well stocked with dishes. Bed was firm and comfortable, slight traffic noise, but had a comfortable sleep.

We stayed at the Red Coat Inn based upon advise from a local in Fort Macleod. We were told the rest of the hotels get booked up with a lot of oil field workers and thiis place doesn't. We liked the fact that it included a basic breakfast and had a indoor pool and hot tub.

I have stayed here every year the past three years. I love the town, cute and charming and I fell in love with Tim Horton's! The hotel has spent some money modernizing it and it didn't go unnoticed. The front desk person was very nice and had to help me get in the door. Everything else was great. Clean and welcomed after a travel day!! See you next year!

we really enjoyed renting the ground floor large family suite in its own little building. The beds were comfortable just bring a foamy for the fold out but all fold outs need extra foamys as a rule. Great kitchen in number 16 ...it was quiet, clean and nicely decorated even if it is an older motel you can tell the owners make an effort to take care of their place. the price was reasonable and when we had a couple of requests and a locked bathroom door the owner was nice and helpful and friendly ....their is air conditioning and wifi worked well as well as the TV don't hesitate to stay
