old motel, attempted renovations by people who have no renovation skills. Furnished with found, second hand items. The meat of the matter is this, the old bathroom had no forced air ventilation (common for the time) and the bathroom window has been plugged by an air conditioner...NO VENTILATION AT ALL! This can't meet code. Worse, the owners have added a small fridge, microwave and food prep surface. OK appreciate that BUT guess where this stuff was located...IN THE BATHROOM. The one window in the unit cannot be locked; anyone could force entry without using any force. Electrical isn't up to code. I know, I'm an electrical engineer. And they wanted $75 a night. I've stayed in far superior Motel 6s for under $40.
This old but charming motel was a great & VERY inexpensive stop in a thunderstorm. The friendly & charming owner walked us to the room, & was so sweet, helpful & lovely & recommended a restaurant that was awesome . The room was small & old but very clean and spruced up with care. The bed was as hard as a rock but we slept fine & would go back again if we found ourselves in the area. We have stayed at MUCH worse motels, that cost way more. Great value !!
This simple lovely space was perfect for my needs. I travel a lot for work and I do yoga. There’s enough room to put my mat down and do my morning workout. Also a desk with chair to use my laptop. Very clean room with a warm cozy feel right down to the a chair and tv rolling table. They thought of everything! There are full kitchenettes here, but I stayed in the standard room. The owners accommodated me with a pan and portable stovetop and even cooked me eggs one morning. They are such kind people. I would recommend this motel to anyone coming through fort McLeod!!
Checked in here on a Friday - my family was in the Santa Claus parade, so we stayed for the whole festival. We reserved a 'family deluxe suite' which came with two queen beds (one in a separate room), an oven, fridge , coffee maker& microwave as well as dishes, pots etc. Upon check-in, the owner took us to the room and showed us where everything was. They were SUPER friendly. Asked if we were ok with goose down bedding. Greeted our pets nicely, and were polite to my children. The beds are very comfortable. Everything very clean. Bathroom a bit cramped, but perfectly serviceable. Very quiet. Location was great. A block in either direction to food shops, and some surprisingly excellent restaurants. I would absolutely stay here again.
I can't remember why we decide on staying in Ft Macleod (we were in the area to meet up with an old friend staying in assisted living in Lethbridge) .. I guess we thought that the trip from BC down Hwy 3 would take longer than it did ... The room was small but we weren't planning on entertaining any guests so it was fine .... the room and bathroom were clean but it was odd that the heat wasn't on (just a chilly day in August) and when I inquired I was loaned an electric heater ... Hmmmm? ... hey as long as I could get rid of the chill in the room ... good enough I suppose ..... the lady that checked us in was real nice .... if someone is in Ft Macleod for the night I guess this is a good as place as any ... not sure if I would stay here again ... all the motels in the area seemed to be around the same age so I don't know if the one down the road is better or worse ... given what I know now I would have just continued on to Lethbridge and stayed there for the night ....…
This isn't the 4 season, but it a great motel that is clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and accommodating. A little dated, but I was there to sleep not throw a party. Plenty of parking and quiet dispite being on a major road. Good location.
Sam and Jean, the owners were most welcoming and friendly during my four night stay in Fort MacLeod. Sam is very knowledgeable about the area and gave most useful tourist information and recommendations. The facilities are good and very conveniently located. The room is comfortable and clean with a useful microwave, coffee machine, good coffee and a full sized fridge with a small freezer compartment. Sam helped with a wind shield crack upon my arrival and recommended a garage next door,Mac Autograph, Col MacLeod Ave. They were equally helpful and gave good advice and allowed me to call the car rental company. All round good place and town, well worth avisit for history, beautiful Riverside Wilderness Park and wildlife.
Had a one night stay here and this is great value for a clean and comfortable room. Complimentary bottles of water which was nice and shown to room (they obviously have pride in the place). Bed squeaked a bit but was comfortable and little traffic noise. A good place to stay.
We were shown the room before we accepted it, which was a nice gesture along with the cold water bottles! At first I thought it was odd to have the kitchen appliances in the room where the washroom was but I can see there was no room in the actual bedroom to set up a fridge and microwave. It was quiet, clean and the price was very affordable.
Very nice Korean couple; Room was clean upon arrival; All basic commodities one would expect are in the room, and the price was very cheap ($70) for that long weekend of August; Bed was squeaky a little but nothing major; Only one pillow per person, not the greatest quality either but it was ok. For the price, it would have been 5 stars as no one can expect the same from a $70 motel than a $300 hotel suite. Major inconvenient was the very noisy a/c at night, that kept waking me up, to the point i had to switch it to Fan only. Good for one night stay.
