We stayed at the century the lady at the front desk was amazing. Everything is within walking distance. The room was old but clean. We were looking for a place to lay out head comfort and safe it offered all of that and more.. great price and good area. Would stay again

My wife and I spent a night at the Century II motel along Fort Macleod's main street. The rooms were on the small side, like many older motels, but immaculately clean and well-maintained. The owner is very friendly and knowledgable about local restaurants and attractions. Some of the rooms are undergoing renovation but there was no construction noise while we were there. A comfortable bed, friendly and helpful owner, and well-maintained decor from the days when highways were all two-lane affairs, with current amenities like cable and AC. Although along the main street, noise was not a problem from either traffic or the railroad. Overall, a good value.

We stayed one night in this hotel and found the service excellent. The wi-fi was really good,a good sized room. Ford Macleod was a nice historical town, which coincidently has had several Hollywood movies made in it.

old motel, attempted renovations by people who have no renovation skills. Furnished with found, second hand items. The meat of the matter is this, the old bathroom had no forced air ventilation (common for the time) and the bathroom window has been plugged by an air conditioner...NO VENTILATION AT ALL! This can't meet code. Worse, the owners have added a small fridge, microwave and food prep surface. OK appreciate that BUT guess where this stuff was located...IN THE BATHROOM. The one window in the unit cannot be locked; anyone could force entry without using any force. Electrical isn't up to code. I know, I'm an electrical engineer. And they wanted $75 a night. I've stayed in far superior Motel 6s for under $40.

My experience at this place is good one. The owner and his wife were very accomadating, welcoming, kind and helpful. Their hospitality and welcoming style make one feel at home right away. I stayed here in June and enjoyed my stay in my initial room. It was quiet, clean and affordable. I liked the extra bedroom in both the suites I stayed in. This is helpful when you have a child or sibling with you, it provides the extra privacy. My last stay was just this week. I showed up without a reservation thinking there would be vacancy and everywhere in town was full. I showed up and he had a room that was being renovated and just needed to be cleaned before renting out. This was at 8 pm I showed up. But the kind man he was said he would clean the room and rent it to me, given I would probably not find anywhere else in town, despite the fact that he was initially planning on not renting it out. He was good about checking for supplies and towels. The best part of the experience was Sam and his wife. They themselves made sure it was meticulously clean, doing all their own cleaning. The best and welcoming part of our stay is the morning coffee he made for my husband and I everyday while we were in town taking care of business. Best double double and cappucino you can find. A wonderful smile and friendly coffee greeting in the morning doesn't get any better:) Even their welcoming our dogs was great, since as most people understand that dogs are family. Staying here by far exceeding my expectations. I will definitely be making a reservation next time and this place will be my go to spot in Fort Macleod. Thanks for everything, we will be back!

Being very weary travelers, coming from Alaska, & after getting a little lost, we were greeted with a great smile & excellent service from the owner himself at 11 PM! We very much enjoyed the two bedroom, kitchenette motel room! Very relaxing, & very clean place with all that you need at your fingertips. Our two dogs loved it, too! It was a home away from home.

This is not your ususal review, please read it carefully. My review is based on a long stay at this motel of almost 8 weeks.

Quite simply this motel is a breath of fresh air.

The motel itself is an older motel but has been partially renovated, with most of the rooms in excellent shape. The parking spaces are large and the access to the parking lot is easy to get to. While the motel is on a main street in the town, there is virtually no noise from that street at night. The motel is centrally located in the middle of the town of Fort Macleod. The downtown area as well as local attractions are all within walking distance.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. The motel is also centrally located in the middle of attractions in southern Alberta such as Waterton National Park, Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump, Oldman Dam, Lethbridge, Cardston etc. (Please go to Waterton National Park and cruise Red Rock Canyon rioad which is infested with bears, you can ask Sam, the motel owner about his recent experiences with Canada's bears. Not only is Sam a "bear expert" :).....but he makes a great cup of coffee and if you need a quick snack Sam's wife Jean is an excellent cook!!!!)

The price is nothing but value for the dollar. You get a clean, quiet and pleasantly decorated room for a very decent price.

The cleanliness of the room is off the chart. The owner and his wife, Sam and Jean, in addition to being very polite and gracious hosts are quite meticulous about the cleanliness of each room. I was very impressed. Duriing my stay at this motel if there were any problems Sam and his wife were quick to fix the problem.

Lastly, I will stay at this motel again. With price, cleanliness and overwhelming hospitality being better than I have encountered at many "fancy" motels/hotels I wouldn't go anywhere else.

As a parting note. there are people who may doubt the validity of this review. please don't, its legitimate. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels and motels as well as oilfield camps. I know quality and value when I seen it.

Firstly, this place is in the CENTRE of town just a stroll to the heritage buildings - not 68 km away as indicated by TripAdvisor. Sam, the owner, made us feel welcome immediately. Our room was spotless with all the expected features like coffee maker, flat screen, fridge & microwave. Bed was comfy & sheets were clean. Shower was clean & plenty of hot water. I've stayed in many dated motels before to enjoy the cheap prices, but this has been renovated enough to give it a modern feel for us. I would vote this #1 for all motels, not just #1 for Fort Macleod. Finally, I forgot to say, Sam brought us delicious coffee to the room at 9 am for no extra charge. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Due to the nice reviews we thought Ford Macleod and this motel would be a nice stopover from Glacier National Park on our way to the Canadian Parks. The Century II was a big disappointment. First, a very old couple owns the motel, they assist you at the reception. I asked for a room with a kitchenette. The room was awful, very very old furniture, old bathroom, not very clean, it stunk as if it was a long time ago some fresh air had come in. I went back to the reception and said I didn’t like the room so they gave me the key for another. This was the same; I am still wondering how someone can write that the rooms are remodeled!!! Also there were no utensils at all in the kitchen. The old lady told me that she doesn’t want to clean it all after the guests have left (Who asks for a kitchenette, if they don’t want to use it!!!) I also think 90 Canadian dollars + tax is very much overpriced. Didn’t stay here, but went to the motel on the other side of the road. The Kozy Ford Motel (white units with red details), the room was small, but very very clean, nice details, new bathroom and a kitchenette with everything you need and for half the price. The owner is very friendly and the service is unbelievable (his computer didn’t work, I could use the computer of his brother in a coffee shop nearby). Unfortunately, this motel is not mentioned on the tripadvisor site.
