It was a cozy campground with a mix of long term rvs and short term guests. We were in a tent and had a decent mix of dirt and grass. The washrooms were the nicest out of the six places we stayed on our short vacation. A bonus feature was the bakery right beside the campground. It was exceptional.
Kokanee Chalets, First time visiting beautiful Nelson with my Canadian wife for a friends wedding. The bride and groom decided to book family and friends at the Kokanee chalets due to the close proximity to the wedding location. The slightly dilapidated cabins were the least of our problems. I’d compare check in to walking into someone’s 1970s living room. There was short tempered irritable and yet some how passive aggressive front desk clerk who seemed disgusted we were even there. And after some deep sighs of aggravation she finally gave us keys to cabins. Only one of the bedrooms had a door, the 2 loft bedrooms upstairs are completely open to each other without even a curtain between them. The shower head is about 3 feet off the ground and there is no shower curtain. But the whipping on the cake, was banging on the door which I would compare to a police raid on a drug house. When I opened the door the house cleaning lady proceeded to tell us to get out. After trying to explain there must of been a mix up, she proceeded to yell “ check outs at 11:00 and its 11;15, get out”. There was a miscommunication/mix up with the cabin checkout and yes I understand that is annoying for the staff, but it was not necessary to be condescending and rude about it. By this time me and my wife had enough. Got a ride to Nelson and got a proper hotel. Ps the one good thing the restaurant on the property was really awesome, would highly recommend.…
We booked months ago and we’re pleasantly surprised with how well equipped the Chalets were. There was a coffee maker and filters, frying pans and dishes, Shampoo And soaps and towels were plentiful. We did not use the hot tub but lots of people did and enjoyed it. It’s a delightful spot and we would consider going there again
We were looking for a family vacation on a lake. We spent a lovely week at Kokanee Chalets in Crawford Bay. We loved our chalet and the area. Reds Bakery is amazing, the town was great, close to beaches and the ferry crossing across the lake. Just what we need to spend some quality family time!
Our naturalist group gathered for a camp out. We were very happy with the rv camp sites excellent wifi clean bathrooms and excellent bakery onsite. The camp site was muddy and too closed in but well maintained.
Quiet spot adjacent to highway in forested campground. Stayed for two nights. All hookup services work well. The bakery is awesome and truly one of a kind! A campground with good lattes, sweets galore and great lunch sandwiches. Staff are lowkey and helpful enough.
Nice sites and facilities. Friendly office staff. Stay was great until we were packing up from a beach day with the kids when one of the men that works here was driving a quad was backing up straight for the kids and not looking backwards. So I yelled for my kids to get out of the way, ok fine, situation over but then one of the female staff members started harassing us for yelling at him to look behind him. It didn’t quit there. We got to our vehicle and she was harassing us from the time she fired up her golf cart (with a beer in hand) until she was far past us. Extremely unprofessional. As beautiful as this resort it, probably won’t stay here again.
We found the staff here more than excellent. The area was promoted regarding the shops, the lovely walk from the park to the lake, restaurants, the fabulous bakery on the property, and golf. Our site still had garbage leaned up on the fire pit on arrival. We found the park to be really, really dark. Didn’t help that we had 3 days of rain and the cedars are huge. In summer it would be beautiful I’m sure, but I was relieved to move on to an more open park. The location was great.
Located in Crawford Bay, center of Kootenay Lake, Kokanee Chalets is a quiet, rustic and peaceful place for a mini-getaway. We were surrounded by trees, mountains and a sandy beach is just a 15-minute walk. It even has a cozy cafe on site with delicious bakery and sandwiches. We stayed at one of the cabins with 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom with hot shower and fresh towels, an open kitchen and living + dining area. And for TV lovers, they also have satellite TV service in the cabin so you never miss any play-offs games! It's rustic and has its own cozy character that made us feel like we're at home away from home. The staff were friendly and always greeted us with smiles. They always made sure we had everything we needed and are accommodating with when to come for house-keeping. We stayed for 4 nights but felt its not enough! It's a place to unplug and reconnect with nature. Absolutely recommend it 👌…
This resort was a terrible dissapointment. No tv. Very poorly stocked. Table leaf did not fit. Dead mouse in cupboard. Burned out light on back door. No place to put clothes. No dishwasher. Upper bedrooms may or may not have doors. Very RUSTIC accommodation.
