Our family-friendly resort offers cabins, hotel-style guest rooms, and a full campground. Our beautiful and rustic paradise is nestled in a cedar forest. We offer cabins, hotel rooms and serviced RV / camping sites. Kokanee Chalets is the ideal place for your holiday, golf vacation or family reunion. Check out our wonderful community of Crawford Bay and our local events!
In a community, people look out for each other and if they see something of concern, they keep everyone informed. Not here. It is taken as unwelcome criticism. And when the owner is disgruntled, he calls your family and friends and discusses his grievances about you to them within nanoseconds. The campground is mostly campers squished into tiny spots that almost overhang each others fire pits. Constant waterline breaks, power lines arcing and coming off power poles, campfires left burning, the list of safety concerns are long. Yes it is dated but regular maintenance completed by qualified personnel would go a long way. There are other nicer campgrounds in the area with friendlier staff and more reliable services. We can’t pass judgement on the cabins/chalets, but it seems the biggest accolades for this place is the bakery on site which is owned by someone else.…

Response from Paul Hindson, General Manager at Kokanee Chalets
Responded 1 week ago
This review is from recently departed seasonal RV guests. We have about 25 seasonal guests here, most of whom have been here for years. In my 21 seasons managing Kokanee Chalets, these are the only seasonal guests I have ever asked to leave the park. My point by point reply to their recent attack on Google, is apparently not enough and so they are using Trip Advisor. If you'd like to see my response to their comments, please refer to their review and my response on Google. After enduring years of complaints and “advice” from these people who don’t know one one hundredth of the job I do here, I finally had enough. Who ever gave them authority to determine who is a “qualified personnel" is beyond me. For the record, there was ONE ten hour water interruption affecting them this year and alternate water was supplied. We have an aging electric line that we made some temporary repairs to this summer and we are now replacing it with all permits and a journeyman electrician and a budget of $40,000. No electric lines ever fell on the ground and there was no danger to the public at any time. Anyone who has stayed here knows we have some of the largest RV sites available anywhere. We are constantly working to improve our park and give people the best vacation experience possible. Please come see the beauty of Kokanee Chalets for yourself. You won’t be disappointed. Kokanee Chalets hosted us, our family, and friends for our wedding weekend. They were fantastic to work, very accommodating, and even gave us a bottle of wine to celebrate. We will definitely be back :) thank you guys again

We have been going here for 20 years and it is always a great place sit back, unwind and get away from reality for a week. The chalets are rustic and very cozy. Fully stocked with everything you need so you can cook/bbq your own meals with a great store nearby. Very close to one of the best golf courses you can find as well as beautiful mountain scenery out your front deck. Also have Red's bakery which has great coffee, pastries and bread! If you are looking to relax and slow down a little I highly recommend Kokanee Chalets!

We had a family get together for 24 at Kokanee Chalets and RV Resort and had the most amazing time! The cedars are so beautiful and provided great shade for the cabins and campsite (it was over 30 degrees each day). The greenspace in the middle of the cabins provided an excellent place to gather and play games, laugh and have a campfire. Sorry to any other campers for the noise lol. Our campsite spot was pretty good with full service and lots of space. The cabins seemed comfortable and well equipped but there are 2 issues. First, there are only mini bar fridges and we had to all bring coolers for additional space since were there 3 nights and making buffet style communal meals. Second, the stairs to the loft are more of a ladder so it's not great for young kids and older adults or those with mobility issues. It was a short drive to the beach parking and a quick walk to the beach. It is accessible for special needs though there are some roots etc. to watch for. The beach itself was great and the kids spent a lot of time there. Everyone had a chance for paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming, sunning. We didn't check out the wetlands trail since the mosquitoes were pretty bad. Crawford Bay is a great little village with such talented artisans selling their wares. A couple hours of shopping is a must. Red's Bakery on premises at Kokanee Chalets is amazing and you can't beat those cinnamon buns for breakfast!! Love this place!!…

We have stayed at this property many times now. It just keeps getting better, as they continually do little upgrades that make a big difference each year. This trip we stayed 2 nights on our way to Kaslo, then 1 night on our way home.. Both times we were greeted by Jamieson, who practices that ‘old school hospitality’ which is missing nowadays. It’s an affordable, clean, quiet and family friendly accommodation. Having Red’s Bakery on-site just adds to the great experience! Until next time…

Okay. But not great. Limited accommodation choices in Crawford Bay. We shared half of a small cabin. $129.00 for the night and it was only after we paid that they told us there was no working TV in the room because the satellite TV was not connected yet. No offer of a reduction in price. Washroom finishings updated, but cheaply and not completed by a tradesman. Stick-on tile trim. The Hot/Cold shower tap was reversed. I dropped the very small provided bar of soap in the shower and it immediately broke into 4 pieces. What?!? It was small enough to begin with. What kind of soap does that?!? Cheap soap, I guess. The main office and all of the cabins had roofs that needed to be replaced (see photo). They are obviously reluctant to reinvest. After one night we were happy to move on.…

Super clean. Very warm room despite bitter cold outside. Carol was awesome to work with on our reservation needs. We used space for overflow from our cabin a short drive away. We will definately use Kokanee Chalets again.

It was a cozy campground with a mix of long term rvs and short term guests. We were in a tent and had a decent mix of dirt and grass. The washrooms were the nicest out of the six places we stayed on our short vacation. A bonus feature was the bakery right beside the campground. It was exceptional.

Kokanee Chalets, First time visiting beautiful Nelson with my Canadian wife for a friends wedding. The bride and groom decided to book family and friends at the Kokanee chalets due to the close proximity to the wedding location. The slightly dilapidated cabins were the least of our problems. I’d compare check in to walking into someone’s 1970s living room. There was short tempered irritable and yet some how passive aggressive front desk clerk who seemed disgusted we were even there. And after some deep sighs of aggravation she finally gave us keys to cabins. Only one of the bedrooms had a door, the 2 loft bedrooms upstairs are completely open to each other without even a curtain between them. The shower head is about 3 feet off the ground and there is no shower curtain. But the whipping on the cake, was banging on the door which I would compare to a police raid on a drug house. When I opened the door the house cleaning lady proceeded to tell us to get out. After trying to explain there must of been a mix up, she proceeded to yell “ check outs at 11:00 and its 11;15, get out”. There was a miscommunication/mix up with the cabin checkout and yes I understand that is annoying for the staff, but it was not necessary to be condescending and rude about it. By this time me and my wife had enough. Got a ride to Nelson and got a proper hotel. Ps the one good thing the restaurant on the property was really awesome, would highly recommend.…

We booked months ago and we’re pleasantly surprised with how well equipped the Chalets were. There was a coffee maker and filters, frying pans and dishes, Shampoo And soaps and towels were plentiful. We did not use the hot tub but lots of people did and enjoyed it. It’s a delightful spot and we would consider going there again
