We stayed here for three nights on our Canadian tour, after asking our travel agent where to go to see some bears. It is situated in Wells Gray Park and about 35km from the nearest town, and is extremely peaceful and like others we had three nights excellent sleep here, in a bed that had cosy patchwork covers on it. The room had heating which we used as it was September for late evenings. It was in a log cabin which was split into four rooms, and we had a small deck with a bench where we ate on quite a lot enjoying the views and the wildlife. What lets this place down is the lack of a place to eat something nice. They could make a small fortune if they improved the offering as there isnt anywhere else to go. Breakfast was laid out, but all the food was dry and the staff unhelpful even asking to get basics like tea bags and hot water. Dinner was pretty poor too so we ended up driving to clearwater on the other other days to get supplies. There are a small number of RV pitches at the site too, but they were very quiet and pleasant. There are lots of trails in the park so you can easily occupy yourself for three days, and we did get to see bears in the distance. Overall a traditional log cabin experience but bring your own food; our room had a fridge.

Lovely place was worried due to the reviews as had to move hotels due to the fires last minute. It was lovely, yes rustic but if you love nature it’s great. Good for water falls and walks as right in the middle of Wells Grey National park. The staff were friendly and so helpful we arrived really late 9.30’ish pm and the restaurant had stopped serving but still cooked for us. The breakfast is basic continental but enough for all cereals, juice, toast and pastries just help yourself. There is a fridge and coffee machine in the room which was clean and tidy.

This lodge is in a great location about 30 minutes out of Clearwater. We were kindly upgraded for our one night stay from our log room to a chalet room with a balcony which was nice. Room was clean & spacious. We ate in the restaurant that evening and food was simple but tasty. This is a great place to see bears. Opened the curtains at 6am to see a brown bear walking through the site. Later we watched a black bear here too. This place has a nice feel and all the staff were friendly and helpful.

Quiet, peaceful and beautiful. We stayed in the premium log cabin rooms top floor with a balcony that gave us a fabulous view of the mountains. The rooms are very spacious, comfortable and clean with new carpeting and towels. No a/c but it wasn’t needed as nights are cool and screened windows provided the necessary ventilation. Hosts/Owners were very warm, welcoming and willing to do what they could to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The restaurant wasn’t open yet but we were offered the use of a bbq in the common picnic area and could store our foods in the fridge and freezer in the main building. We happily enjoyed two nights without interruption from cell service. One of our group needed internet access and was able to do that in the main lodge. An absolute highlight of our trip was hiking to the spectacular falls nearby - Helmcken Falls, Dawson Falls and Spahat Falls. We would definitely stay here again.

Shamim is an incredible host and a testament that there are good people out there. He went out of his way to ensure my friend and I had a safe and great trip. He gave us a detailed itinerary and explanation for the sites in Wells Grey Park.
We had dinner at the restaurant. The food is homemade and excellent quality. Sophie, our server, was great too.
If you’re camping, this place has amenities like power and showers. There’s a large covered picnic area so groups can get out of the rain if the weather is bad.
The location is excellent, just outside the main gate. You can easily access many sites from the lodge.

A place I would avoid by all means in the future, the so-called old fashioned lodge was the worst experience during our trip through Canada’s BC. Owners seems not want to invest in the minimal necessities for travellers such as a refrigerator, airco or internet despite the huge billboard advertising the internet. Rooms are definitely not suitable for a family stay of 4 as the 2 beds are placed against the walls. The housekeeping office/store located in the middle of the rooms, with their busy traffic and mess in the front did not help to create a comfortable stay. The millions of mosquitoes are free of charge. The positive note is the restaurant with kind people and good food.

A very homely rural retreat. Great views from the cabins, excellent food, friendly staff. Felt very at home. The Location is a stones throw from many of the attractions of Wells Gray Provincial Park which is well worth a visit - a beautiful area.

Thanks to Shami, Sophie and team we had an amazing overnight stay here and wished we could have stayed longer. We enjoyed dinner in the restaurant watching the hummingbirds before our own mini bear safari with Shami, following a black bear around the grounds in his car - what an experience. Sadly had my camera on the wrong setting due to visiting the falls earlier, it was set for landscape and not wildlife, so although I got some photos they are not the best quality Breakfast the next morning was plentiful and yummy, pancakes, fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, sausages, cereal and much more choice. Our lodge was very clean, beds extremely comfortable and very quiet. We took time to enjoy the dark night sky and see so many stars with no artificial street lights . We absolutely loved our stay and would return tomorrow if we could. A massive thank you to Shami and his team for giving us the most memorable stay - you are all awesome

I echo comments in previous review. We stayed for 2 nights en route to Jasper - had it not been that we’d already had a long drive and were in the middle of nowhere, we would not have remained. A stopover in Clearwater itself and a drive from there to the falls would be a better option. Our lodge was dingy, dated and musty, and overrun with mosquitoes. Dinner and breakfast were very poor, and NOT worth the money.

Beautiful location in nature. Not far from Canada's 4th largest waterfall. The camper pitches are located next to each other on a lawn with trees. Delicious food for a good price in the lodge. Cozy ambiance in the lungs, reminiscent of an Austrian Stube. Good free hot shower in a simple toilet block.
