This place is now called Clearwater/Wells Gray KOA. We booked this cabin based on the photographs displayed on the website but we were extremely disappointed when we saw the unit had no heat, no table, a microwave oven on the floor and very little floor space. The furnishings were very well used and all needed to be updated. When we notified the office of these issues, all they offered us was a portable heater. We knew we wouldn’t be comfortable in this terrible unit and asked to be refunded but all they would give us was a 20% refund. We would not recommend this place.
We wondered in and we were lucky to get a room for 2 nights so we could explore Wells Gray Park. Very easy check in. Reasonable price. I was worried about cleanliness. I am not disappointed. Our room is very clean. Hot plate, microwave and fridge freezer. Two beds and a couch. Spotless bathroom. We swam at the pool which again was very clean. Safety is a top priority here as well. Felt very safe here as well. The whole place is gated. They follow covid rules which I appreciate. The owner is full of knowledge and very helpful. Had a great chat with her. Learned a lot. We will for sure be back. Bring the grandkids and kids next time. Perfect spot to do day trips to the park. Restaurants close and other places to get supplies. I would recommend reserving the place was full after we checked in. Thank you for our stay. …
Stayed here for one night and found the place to be great. We had a bungalow which was spacious, clean and in great condition. The mattress wasn’t the best but it did the job. There was A/C but sleeping with the windows open and the fresh mountain air we had a great sleep.
We stayed for two nights in a family suite (unit 3). It had a queen bed/living area/partial kitchen in one area, separate bedroom with a double and single bed. There is a partial wall between the two areas but no door. Full bathroom. It had the spaciousness that our family was looking for. Property has campsites, cabins, and motel rooms. Our unit faced a pond with a fountain. The unit is dated but had all the basics we needed-if you are looking to cook in your room, it contains a full fridge, hot plate, microwave, and coffee maker and minimal supplies. It was perfectly located near the entrance to Wells Gray park but we didn’t hear any noise from the road or from the folks staying in the campsite. We did get to smell their campfires which created a nice ambience as we sat at the picnic tables outside. The front counter staff were friendly and helpful. We were travelling when BC had just been opened back up for non-essential travel so there were certain things you should check into before you go: the pool and restaurant weren’t open, and the staff cannot enter your room during your stay to bring new towels, empty the garbage, provide new toilet paper, etc. You can ask for supplies at the front. While overall we found this property was great for our family for a couple of days, the downside in our unit was the very loud noise coming from the unit above (#9). They were early risers and late to come home at night and the noise from their footsteps or whatever they were doing woke us up repeatedly. It was like elephants were bowling up there. Wells Gray park waterfalls are easily accessed by car from here and are beautiful. Also recommend the Painted Turtle restaurant. …
Grounds are nice. Cabins are old and outdated. Refrigerator was very noisy. TV was very small. Rooms are OK. The restaurant was terrible. Food was old and overpriced. Buns were mouldy. Charged 2 bucks for 1/2 a slice of processed cheese for my grandsons hot dog. My wife’s beef dip was rotten and tasted mouldy. Charged 4.50 for a glass of chocolate milk. I won’t be back.
