Kathleen is the ultimate, welcoming host who thinks of everything. Her very large home is beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean, the amenities are plentiful and the breakfasts delicious. It's wonderful to sit on either the upper or lower balcony to enjoy the lake view or have a cold drink. We were in the Calendula room on the top floor. Both the bedroom and ensuite bathroom are very large and well appointed.
This spot and hostess are amazing. The rooms are within a log home with plenty of light from the windows. The hostess has paid attention to detail in all of the furnishings and color choices. Breathtaking views possible from the lower patio at this location. The lower rooms enter onto the lower patio which is complete with comfortable and well placed patio furniture. There is a lovely upper room with a bathroom with a relaxing bathtub. There is access to kyacs to use at your own risk. Choice of 3 rooms .
Our second B&B ever and this has made it hard to go back home. Kathleen has such a beautiful place on the lake that it makes you not want to leave. The view from the deck let's you absorb all the beauty that surrounds this clear warm lake. The stars and milky way were the best we have seen in a long time. The bed and room were very comfortable. With excellent access to the water, this is a beautiful place to enjoy kayaking from.
3-bedroom B&B is the best kept secret that I almost hate to share :) 2-hr flight from SFO to Spokane, 3 hr drive to Christina Lake across the Canadian border, where Kathleen's B&B sits roughly midpoint of the lake. My bedroom is south-facing, right off the boat dock. The million-dollar view has a surprise good news, it's WARM water! So is the hospitality! Kathleen the owner makes a wonderful & hearty breakfast, is a native so very knowledgable. The room is super-comfortable and rustic. Swimming in the lake is easy, and I hear nearby you can rent water sports equipment (although I didn't try). Christina Lake has several restaurants and nearby town, Grand Falls has several more. I was here for a wedding, and have to rush back. All the way back to Spokane, I was wondering how I can turnaround and stay at Sunflower for another week! If you want to "shut-off" from the techie tech Bay Area for a while, Kathleen's B&B is my #1 choice :)…
While passing through I had some vehicle trouble and had to stay the night so in my search for accommodation I came across Kathleen and the Sunflower Inn. Kathleen was a wonderful host and included me in with her other guests who were all very friendly, a terrific experience that has me planning Christina Lake at the Sunflower Inn a future destination.
