Detailed Reviews
it is a lovely lodge in beautiful surroundings, near a good hiking trail up to a waterfall. it was convenient to be able to have breakfast at whatever time we liked, as it had all been left out for us in the dining room so we could help ourselves. We flew to Bella Coola in our small plane so had no car, and the only rental car was already booked. Unfortunately there was rarely anyone at reception and, when we tried phoning, we often only got the voice mail so it was not easy to arrange for transportation to town for dinner. we managed in the end, but had to persevere. So I would only recommend the lodge to people with their own transport.

This property is located in a serene valley with wonderful view. Mostly a self serving B&B with a total run of the property. The rooms are large and tastefully decorated with ensuite bathrooms. Breakfast area is we'll supplied with most continental breakfast items. There are 3 separate lounge areas to relax and converse. The outdoor patio was great for an evening glass of wine. Friendly staff/owners who took time to talk to us. Definitely a place to return to.

Many of the reviews of this lodge were about previous ownership. The present owners, Terry and Tina have only owned this property for about two years.
This small lodge is nestled into the Bella Coola Valley about 8 km from the town, but accessible to the ferry and to all activities. It is quaint yet comfortable and very clean and quiet. The breakfast provided is quite sufficient (cereal, toast, bagels, fruit, Keurig coffee and tea). The dining area is large and bright with an outside patio for use in warmer weather.
There is a large, beautiful and comfortable living room with an open fireplace to warm you on those chilly days.
Both owners were very helpful regarding things to do, places to eat and some of the history of the area. Their recommendation of the Bella Coola Valley Inn (which they have also owned for about 10 years) for supper was a big hit. We enjoyed it so much we went back the next night to sample the Korean dishes, which were excellent. We also enjoyed their sushi and believe it or not, it was as good as we had ever tasted! We enjoyed the private company with Tina in front of the fire for what seemed like hours on our last night. She made us feel like family.
If you are into fly fishing, Terry is an expert and will show you the best flies to use for the area and season. This lodge is very relaxing and we would highly recommend staying here.

The exterior looks great, the interior looks fantastic, the view (you can eat your breakfast on the deck) is amazing, the room was clean en the staff is very friendly. The wifi was a bit wonky and it is a pity you can't make a reservation online, but the staff was very quick with its responses.
We would definitely recommend staying here if you are in Bella Coola! It's absolutely charming.

I've stayed in many places but the experience at Bella Coola's Eagle Lodge was spectacular. Such an amazing setting, really clean rooms and eating area with a great breakfast. The owner, Terry, was the kindest most respectful person I have ever met in the hotel business. He makes the stay worthwhile. We were there only two days but I wish it had been longer. Everyone should visit Bella Coola at least once. My two daughters and I had a great time. A great experience I'll never forget! Thank you, Jennifer

This is truly the finest place to dine and relax in the entire valley, having lived in the valley before I can assure all readers there is no better establishment especially for the price! The restaraunt alone would bring even Ramsay to his knees!!! :)

We stayed at Eagle Lodge for 4 nights and absolutely loved it! The room was very comfortable and clean with plenty of space. The scenaery was amzing and yes it does look like the pictures on the site. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially when asking about thing sto do and see in the valley. The update on the walking trails was useful, but wish we had seen it sooner than the second day fo our stay!!
However one of the best features is the dining experience and it really was a great experice. I would recommend anyone staying here eats in the restaurant. The food was out of this world, by far the best meals we had on our whole holiday in Canada were here!. My husband hates salmon...but he ate it here and loved it.. it was absolutely divine and we can also recommend the chocolate mousse cheesecake, which was as good as it sounds. We ate in the restaurant for 2 nights of our stay, We would have eaten on the other nights, but it was booked up by the time we decided that was what we wanted to do. Also the wine was very good and the breakfast baskets in the room were a nice touch.
Basically a great place to stay and we would thoroughtly recommend it

We got an airport pickup which was absolutely necessary as there are no taxis to take you to your hotel. We rented a car from them that waiting for us at the hotel which also needed for getting around the Valley!
The grounds themselves are beautiful with amazing views of the horses next door, mountains and beautiful green spaces. There are benches around that we sat and relaxed at taking in the view and fresh air.
The lodge is an old boarding house which is neat. All of the rooms are named after the last person to stay in it. Our room was very nice! Very comfortable bed with soft clean linens.
Only problem was there is no AC, just a ceiling fan which made for some warm evenings but with the window open and the fan on we found the room cooled down reasonably quickly. (They did lend a fan to my mother-in-law so if this is a problem for people they do have extra solutions).
We got a look at a few of the rooms (we were with a large group). They all seemed just as nice, all had different numbers of beds and were different configurations for different needs.
Breakfast was some ground coffee, nice pastries, fruit and yogurt brought to our room the night before.
The restaurant was AMAZING! The first night we were there it was live music night so a really talented pair of sisters joined by the hotel's owner played some amazing original folk music.
The food is 5 star-gourmet which we were not expecting! So delicious!
The staff was really helpful! I had a cold while there and they boiled water for me each night for my neocitron not to mention just being genuinely nice and helpful at all times.
I would definitely recommend this to all kinds of travellers!

Wonderfull place to stay with a campervan. We only could stay 1 night, would love to stay longer.
Friendly staff, nice kitten :-)
Shower was clean and spacious, toilets were outhouses so less comfortable.
Restaurant was just great, see my review abouth the dish.
Good excursion opportunities in the surrounding, for example hikes.
Good price also!!

We stayed here for 3 nights in June 2012. The services offered for the campers are very basic, you don't even have a bathroom, just an outdoor shower (which was a good one at least). You also do not have a sewer (there are only 3 places where you can dump in bella coola, 2 at other campgrounds, and if you do need to dump, you can go there, but it will cost you 10 bucks!)
We were disappointed that there was no possibility to use the wireless internet while staying with the RV. We would have been happy to pay for this, but were told it was for the lodge guests only. We also struggled with the fact that there is no public laundry at bella coola, and were therefore unable to wash our clothes. (once again, the campground would have had a washing machine, but we booked before going over).
Restaurant at the lodge is expensive, but the food was delicious. We treated ourselves to one meal while staying there.
I would recommend this place for someone (who can afford to do so) staying at the lodge, as the hosts were nice and the food was very good. I wouldn't recommend staying here with an RV, as you are pretty much on your own as far as services go.

I have not rented a car in Bella Coola so I have no idea how many are available.
