I just returned from 2 nights in Bella Coola where I stayed at the Bella Coola Grizzly Tours - Cabin #3. I absolutely LOVED it! The craftsmanship in the design of the cabins is incredible. The communal space that is a quick walk from the cabins was a great place to meet up with the rest of my group in the evenings for a shared meal. The soak I had in the claw foot tub at the end of the day was wonderful. I am already planning my trip for next year. Thanks Leonard and Tiffany for your amazing hospitality!!
Our stay was fantastic from start to finish! From being greeted by Leonard and his dogs right away to our fantastic cozy cabin with all the modern amenities you could need, not to mention a stunning hand crafted log staircase. The communal fire pit area was lovely in the evenings as was waking up and walking out of the cabin to stunning mountain views every morning. We went out on the full day trip with Leonard aboard his boat and he showed us the most amazing scenery. Couldn't have asked for a better stay and would return in a heartbeat!
We booked a cabin #2 for 6 nights while spending time with our friends who live in Hagensburg. BCGT had cabins that are located very close to our friends home and the cabins seemed to be spacious and had kitchens. Both important as we were on a 3 week road trip and had tons of stuff to store and we cooked in every day. Unfortunately the cabin wasn't quite what I expected, not as clean as all our other cabins on this trip had been, poorly equipped for cooking and also the most expensive which had made my expectations even higher. Very nice owner, great huge common area firepit that we loved to use and of course the location was perfect for us.
When we arrived, Leonard already started the fire pit for us. He then asked us if there is anything which we need. The cabin is well equipped. Hot water supply is plentiful. Coffee is freshly grinded. He also told us where we may see grizzly.
Despite Covid we had and an amazing time. Our first time in Bella Coola and we couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. We were in the 2 bedroom chalet and it was perfect for us. We had privacy plus a full kitchen and bbq on the patio. The place was clean and full of everything you need. Beds were very comfortable. All we did is bring our food. There is a grocery store close by. We had the modern amenities of wifi, flush toilets, stores close by but living in the wilderness. Leonard and Tiffany took great care of us and helped us immensely. Bonus was the fresh cherries off the cherry tree. The property is huge and sits amongst the Coast Mountains with 2 waterfalls right behind. I couldn't get enough of the views and peaceful area. Every night we sat out at the gazebo with the fire pit going with the other guests, Leonard and Tiffany, we would spend the evening telling stories and getting to know each other. It was a great way to socialize even with Covid restrictions. Learned so much about the lifestyle up there. Creek right behind the chalets. The location is central. We were able to explore the area and then come home have lunch and go out exploring again till dinner time. There is so much to see and do. I would recommend 4×4 vehicles. Even without it we saw so many amazing, rivers, lakes, creeks right off the highway. Waterfalls everywhere you go. Hiking trails are great. Petroglyph carving tour is a must see. Bella Coola is a beautiful area and we need to come back to do the boat ride and see the other sites that were closed. The area is a gem one of the reasons we are called Beautiful British Columbia.…
