My husband and I decided to use Bella Coola Grizzly Tours to tour the Bentink inlet by boat. We were part of a group of people who met Captain Daniel at the government dock and then boarded the Nekhani. It was a beautiful sunny day with calm waters. Daniel steered us out into the inlet and gave us a wonderful overview of the history of Bella Coola and showed us photos of the early Norwegian settlement, the Talheo Cannery and information about the Nuxalk peoples of the Bella Coola region. Further along we went to a bay where Daniel had spotted a Humpback whale and we were lucky enough to see it a few times, which was a thrill. Next stop was a natural hot spring where we relaxed for a while (lovely) - this was followed by a lunch of fresh crab caught that morning in addition to a great buffet of meats, cheeses, buns, veggies and fruits. What a great treat that crab was! Delicious! We saw some beautiful waterfalls, an absolutely huge Western Red Cedar (you have to see it to believe it), and some early pictographs on cliffs along the shoreline. We made great friends, ate great food and had an amazing time. It was a great way to spend a day. Highly recommend it.

The "Bella Coola Grizzly Tours" experience is one I strongly recommend to everyone . Old or young, you have a big family or maybe your trying to impress your significant other ~ this location is optimal and will serve as a versatile base camp that satisfies all parties .
Beautiful , majestic and luxurious log cabins each with theyre own magnificent charm, spacious clean and filled with all the essential home hardware to stay civilized
(Laundry and dryer , dishwasher ,Woodstove , etc) and we'll prepared for the drastic and ever changing environments . With large covered deck spaces with carved art at the foot of your door the cabin is truly a pleasurable and practical , unpacking / loading up / outdoor dining equipped with Weber grills and comfortable patio furniture, is a treat as well as convenient.
All of this set infront of an overwhelmingly picturesque range sheer faces of granite mountain side that defy imagination , basically at the foot of the rainforest all around you will have no trouble being reminded your in the adventure .

I also strongly recommend the boat tour it is phenomenal and comparitave to other boat tours in the valley this is most favorable . With historical landmark destinations, wildlife shore viewing / natural hot springs and an onboard lunch I can safely say you will be thoroughly satisfied with learning and experiencing new things .
The tour guide does a brilliant job of enthralling and intriguing, giving proper context to the observations and its historical importance . ( Something I was very satisfied with ) the hotsprings are a sight to behold as passengers get to really enjoy with an hour plus long stay with privacy, returning safely to a plentiful arraignment of deli sandwiches, fruit, salads , we even had a special treat of wild caught salmon though I don't know if that's a garuntee . Topping it off with a ride to "the big cedar tree" to finale , a sight that will leave you flabbergasted .
All in all a wonderful experience for a day trip thing .

There isn't much more to say then it was well worth the experience and one I look forward to having again .

My family and I (my wife, 3 kids and a dog) stayed here for 4 nights in early November. The Cabin was really nice, clean and had everything we needed for out stay in it, also the cabin was very easy to keep warm with the wood stove (also has electric heat if you are sensitive to smoke/dry air) The yard was big and the kids had fun running around playing. I do plan to come back to Bella Coola and I'll stay at Bella Coola Grizzly Tours again but next time not so late in the year. The people we talked to in the town were all very nice and helpful I recommend taking the trip to Bella Coola and if you need a pace to stay, Grizzly Tours has your accommodations and more.

The hot spring trip was okay in general, but the description on the website was misleading. We did not even cruise near any river or "creek at Green Bay" to even try to watch bears or other wildlife on land. Also we did not visit any seal rock. Seeing wildlife is always a matter of luck, but we did not get the feeling to have it even tried.
We paid over 500$ for 2 persons for some hot springs, visiting the big cedar tree and 2 unspectacular waterfalls to have the feeling that we could have used the day and the money better differently in the end.

If you get the expectations right and have some luck with whales e.g., the tour can be quite nice.

Response from Leonard Ellis, Owner at Bella Coola Grizzly Tours Inc.
Responded Sep 23, 2022
We at Bella Coola Grizzly Tours are very sorry that you seem to be unhappy and unimpressed with our 8 hour Tour of the Glacial Fjords, Natural HotSprings and Waterfalls. Most people are very pleased with this Tour and comment positively on the quality and good value provided on this full day tour with lunch provided. We do our best to spot Wildlife for you while navigating the long cruise but sometimes, depending on weather conditions, the wildlife does not cooperate as hoped. Humpback Whales, Killer Whales, Dolphins, Seals, Eagles, Otters and many other species of Wildlife including Grizzlies, Black Bears and Wolves are common to these inland waters and beaches, however, we cannot guarantee sightings of free run Wildlife. Regarding our expenses the Tour cannot successfully be operated any cheaper given the high price of fuel, replacement cost on vessel and high operating costs to safely access this very remote wilderness area. Unfortunately FYI the last few days Skipper/Vessel Owner Daniel Ellis has been under a lot of emotional stress and quite worried about his Grandmother who sadly just passed away last night Sept 22nd. If Dan was not performing up to his usual quality standard he is normally accredited with, that is very likely the reason why. Daniel has done a very good job this season with hundreds of happy people safely enjoying Daniels Guided Tours so we are sincerely very sorry your day was not quite as full as you expected. Our sincerest apologies and please be assured and please know we do our best to be 100% all the time. if you would like your money refunded please let us know. Sincerely, Bella Coola Grizzly Tours team

Shannon and family have created a wonderful escape in one of the most beautiful parts of BC, Bella Coola
We had a very roomy, well equipped cabin, with a great porch over looking the mountains in the distance, dining in the area is limited so we took advantage of the massive gazebo and prepared food on the grill.
Next night as we were having our cocktails, we were offered some “extra” Dungeness crab that had been freshly caught, and generously shared! Those things make a vacation so special.
This layer back relaxing experience should not be missed.

Absolutely loved this! So glad we met someone who recommended it. The fresh crab after the hot pool dip was amazing - standing on the back of the boat eating fresh crab and throwing the shells into the wake! The hot pool was a wonderful experience, worth the scramble over the rocks. And the walk to the Big Cedar tree was a nice break in the afternoon. Daniel's history information was so interesting, I feel we learned a lot about the surrounding area during the tour. I would highly recommend this tour.

Our stay was fantastic from start to finish! From being greeted by Leonard and his dogs right away to our fantastic cozy cabin with all the modern amenities you could need, not to mention a stunning hand crafted log staircase. The communal fire pit area was lovely in the evenings as was waking up and walking out of the cabin to stunning mountain views every morning. We went out on the full day trip with Leonard aboard his boat and he showed us the most amazing scenery. Couldn't have asked for a better stay and would return in a heartbeat!

We stayed in the Big Boar chalet, and it was fantastic. Check-in and checkout was super easy, and the chalet was everything. It said it was in the description. Truly a beautiful West Coast cabin.
The location makes it very easy to get to the two main bear viewing areas in the valley. And it’s close to the grocery store just down the street.

We booked a cabin #2 for 6 nights while spending time with our friends who live in Hagensburg. BCGT had cabins that are located very close to our friends home and the cabins seemed to be spacious and had kitchens. Both important as we were on a 3 week road trip and had tons of stuff to store and we cooked in every day. Unfortunately the cabin wasn't quite what I expected, not as clean as all our other cabins on this trip had been, poorly equipped for cooking and also the most expensive which had made my expectations even higher.
Very nice owner, great huge common area firepit that we loved to use and of course the location was perfect for us.
