Located in a safe area with genuine Jamaican locals, this comfortable and affordable Villa is a well kept secret. Just a short walk away from the beach. You can make your own food, buy locally made food by the beach or hire a cook. Laundry can be done yourself or have staff take care of you. The facilities included pools, and other recreational activities such as darts and pool. The assorted rooms were comfortable and clean. I’ve stayed on two separate occasions, summer and winter. Both wonderful. The first stay was for my wedding and the staff really made things perfect. The chef was second to none. The owner, was easy to deal with and made sure things ran smoothly. Great stay. Will definitely go back.

We stayed here for a couple nights in May. This is a new lodging/Villa that was still getting some finishing touches on a couple rooms. We like staying at smaller resorts not impersonal mega-resorts We rented a car and it was easy to drive in Jamaica, we had no problems. I think horror stories are promoted by the big all inclusives resorts so you don't leave their property and spend all your money there. Rent a car a see the real Jamaica and not just a hotel. Castaways was easy to find. The neighborhood around Castaways was very safe. We walked to the pristine beach several times while there about 1/2 mile each way. One day we saw one other person and next day 5. I was so beautiful and we almost had it to ourselves. You can walk for miles. There is a little bar called Leroy's at one end. and a couple craft shops The villa was nice and the owners and workers friendly and helpful. Our room was on first floor. It was large clean and AC was cold. There is a big bar on first floor and a little one one rooftop next to hot tub. Good selection on alcohol drinks. Food eating area and kitchen are also on 1st floor. Local fruit and pastries were served at breakfast were delicious. There is a large pool and hot tub in rear of main building. The price was very reasonable. We liked staying there, it felt like we were staying with friends. If you want an authentic Jamaican experience give Castaway a visit and you will not be disappointed. Its not a 5 star resort, but I don't think owners planned it that way when they built it. We recommend staying there and its also close to several tourist attractions in area for day trips. We did the Blue Hole and loved it. Tours are available from there.

The personal attention received during the stay was unmatched. Just being able to have conversation with people taking care of me, and not feeling like I was just being upsold or taken advantage of was great, but they found ways to being America into the Caribbean and allow me to feel like it was MY OWN HOME while I was there. I had cable TV and wifi, but also was able to walk outside and pick some fresh aloe vera for my sunburn.
A short walk to the beach (which was quite private) and the shallow water went out for at least 100 yards.
Centrally located between the airport and other popular tourist areas allowed for shorter than usual trips for excursions.
The pool was amazing, er pools were amazing. I forgot about the rooftop pool with its own bar. The fire pit didn't get used during our trip, but I can imagine some long nights with friends drinking the time away.
I felt very secure in this hidden away villa. Gates and security were a premium in the planning phases.
I will certainly be going back here in the future.

Firstly, we made an ‘in person’ visit to set up our reservation and view the place for later purposes... On said day... no one showed up. Mind you, The villa was opened and unattended , not to mention dirty‼️ We were sent on a wild goose chase from calling Richie, to Mr. Swaby, to Mr Covert. And let me tell you! Mr Swaby was very rude! Blaming us ( the customers) when it was his staff who didn’t set up our reservation nor communicate said reservations to him. Even further, lying to Mr Covert about what was happening. When we finally spoke to Mr Covert, he was more understanding and willing to help however once again the staff failed us by not being able to show up which ruined our whole day and plans. 100% do not recommend. This should be more organized and your manager should learn to deal with customers.

We want to thank Steve Covert and his staff for a great stay. Our team of 10 enjoyed the ample space, pool, game room, close three block walk to the beautiful Duncans Bay Beach and a great Chef who prepared wonderful meals for us.

True Jamaican experience, NO tourist trap!Perfect place for families, couples or just friends! Great food, drink, and fun! Short, beautiful walk to a GORGEOUS beach and night life. 2 pools, both with poolside walk up bars. Free airport pickup and we even got to see a Beach Volleyball tourney that was cohosted by the villa! Highly recommend!

We go to Castaways every other year with a big group of friends and always have a great time! It’s a real Jamaican experience and only a short walk to the beach, it’s secure, private and everyone is always so accommodating and friendly! All inclusive, foods good and there’s always plenty of it. Open bar with plenty to pickle your liver! Transportation is provided to whatever excursion your heart desires, rooms have air conditioning and are comfortable, there’s always a breeze throughout the house.. the upper deck can be reserved for some more risqué sunbathing😉 there’s plenty of outdoor games for entertainment.. it really is a great place to reserve and take your own party!
